GFFs are 1/144 scale, the same size as HGUC model kits and the Kado Senshi toys. There's no way that toy will scale at 6 lbs. even after it's been packaged in a tough box for shipping. At most 3 or 4 lbs. They're obviously trying to rip people off, don't buy it from them.

They did an incredible job with the restoration - the picture and sound were head and shoulders above anything released in 1980, except for the lack of CG effects you'd think it's a modern flick. In a nutshell, MSV are designs based on existing designs from a popular show that's been wrapped, cooked up to milk fans for all their worth. They are supposed to exist in the show, although you never see them or hear about them until a later production that pays lip service references to them, if ever. The original MSVs were based on fan-created custom models which were integrated back to the One Year War with complete backstories with characters from the show and newly created characters. Bandai didn't make any official MSV kits for later Gundam productions other than F91, even though designs have been drawn by mecha designers here and there for Zeta, CCA, etc. until SEED.

Don't hold your breath. Another studio has the rights to The Hobbit (I think it's Universal). Unless NewLine is able to work out a deal with them, Peter Jackson won't be able to make a movie based on The Hobbit.

I thought the ending was kind of racist (taco/octopus is used as an insult in Japan). Otherwise it was an excellent and funny animation with great artistic style.

I am surprised no one's mentioned the Gouf Custom figure yet. Limited articulation aside, the gatling shield is virtually impossible to put together. That figure along with the Nobel Gundam figure take the cake for being the lamest Gundam figures ever.

Can't seem to find the quoted text in the provided link. Are you sure this isn't from the 5-minute promo video distributed to retail stores to promote the SEED MSV kits? I thought Sunrise canned their plans to make SEED 2.

They can't all be winners. Some episodes work for me, some just leave me cold. The show's creators do get a lot of inspiration from local news. The animal cruelty subplot from the episode actually came from an incident in the L.A. area a few weeks ago involving teenagers who abused puppies and set them on fire after they were done with the poor things. One died and the other was barely alive when they found it. Another example would be the one about the senior citizens being unsafe drivers. This relates back to last year's incident where a senior citizen drove his car through the farmers market section of Santa Monica during a busy Sunday morning, killing and injuring a crowd in the process.

Technically the Jetfire is a Transformers toy and it doesn't even have the kite design or the world "Macross" on the packaging. I doubt HG would have to be consulted if a reissue was being considered. The guy's definitely BSing you in an attempt to get a good deal from you should you decide to sell the toy to him.

This is nothing new, Japanese anime productions have been using Korean animators for decades. in fact, wasnt' the last decade plagued by a trend of reduced frame count in most anime produced as the anime studios tried cutting corners to reduce cost? Now with the trend of going digital, even the Korean animators might soon find themselves out of a job. As for work being exported, hello developing countries, this is what you have to look forward to when your country joins the ranks of "developed nations".

While the Dendrobium looks very impressive when assembled, the Stamen leaves way too much to be desired. I actually prefer the heftiness of the original 1/144 GP03S kit over the HGUC version, which was compromised so it'd be able to fit inside the Dendrobium.
