X-men 3 Pics: Beast And Angel Revealed
Jolly Rogers replied to bsu legato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Could have been better. He had an excellent cast but ended up making a watered down, cookie cutter, movie-of-the-week thriller while Hopkins & co. laughed all the way to the bank. Definitely not even a 1/10 of the brilliance seen in Lambs or Hannibal. -
Looks like it's based on the first game (not film) except they changed the main character from a widowed dad to a mother and upped the role of Cybill. Strange decision. I wish they'd base the plot on the 2nd game though... that was definitely the most cinematic of the series and has tons of good materials to draw from.

Brett Ratner needs to stick to what he knows - buddy comedy flicks. He hasn't done so well outside of that genre - Red Dragon, The Family Man and After the Sunset were all disappointments. -
I don't think it was ever a secret that the actors who played Palmer and Almeida both signed on for season 4, people already knew they'll show up sometime during the season.

Aliens Vs Predator 2: AvP Harder
Jolly Rogers replied to bsu legato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
That actually came from the director's mouth during a Q&A that followed a pre-screening of AvP. He claimed the theatrical release is missing a lot of scenes that would have made it a better movie and these scenes would be restored in a future DVD release. -

New Gundam FIX and ZEONOGRAPHY on the way...

It's MSM-08 Zogock. 346418 Is that a variation or was it acctually seen in one of the shows? I would assume it is a variation. 346561 Production design that would have made it into the show but for the fact that before the episode was animated (Jaburo invasion), the series was getting axed and many episodes got cut/compressed so they could wrap the series up instead of killing it halfway. Bandai actually released kits of these designs as part of the MSG Gunpla line before they came up with the MSV line. -

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
Jolly Rogers replied to Effect's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
2 half hour episodes hosted by the 2 droids (actually C3PO, since we don't understand what R2D2 says). C3PO basically summarizes episodes 1 & 2 in the Story of Anakin Skywalker and the OT in the Story of Luke Skywalker. Both episodes were copyright 2004 and the clips from ROTJ shows Sebastian Shaw in the end celebration scene, so it was produced before the OT DVD box came out. Not sure if they were broadcast anywhere in 2004 though. The 2 episodes were produced in pan & scan, not widescreen, even with the clips from the films. There was a number of bickering moments between C3PO and R2D2 in between the clips, which was entertaining. As for the clips themselves, it was a collection of some of the best moments from the films. -
It is made by NECA but not the one known as the NECA figure. This freebie is only 3" and fits into your palm easily.

so what you're syaing is Gamestop sucks? 343131 I don't need to state the obvious. They had the "preorder bonus figure" mentioned on their website but there was no detail on what it is or its puny size. I had to go to a few stores and call around before I found out they only got the Leon figure (in RE2 RPD uniform no less) as a store exclusive. Friggin' waste of my time and gas money. All they were worried about is getting me to pay the pre-order deposit, a subscription to their Game Informer rag and sell them my collection at giveaway prices.

what's the premium edition look like? 342724 It comes in a tin case, which still folds open like a regular DVD plastic case and the inside is plastic. Inside you'll find a Brady prologue guide that's really a plot summary for the other RE games printed in color with some CG game art (unlike Capcom USA's cheaply produced B&W manuals), a serially numbered Ada Wong laser cel with certificate of authenticity (limited to 60,100 pieces), and a making-of DVD that's only about 5-10 miniutes long and half-stacked below the game disc. There are 2 ring holders for the DVDs inside the case, instead of a separate plate for the 2nd disc as in most dual-DVD cases - this makes disc removal a pain in the ass and also worries me that the disc on top might get scratched/damaged. In the last photo you'll see the pre-order bonus figure of Ada from GameCrazy. I did not pre-order my copy but they had enough to go around. GameStop has the Leon figure. Edit: Errr... first photo I guess... Last In First Out for attached files at MW.

Freddie Prince Jr. Thank you very much for ruining Wing Commander and churning out nothing but godawful "date" movies.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
Jolly Rogers replied to Effect's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I was listening to the DVD while working yesterday, and most of the dialogue jsut struck me as unemotional and delivered in a very flat manner. I wish the editor could have let Palpatine's "Not from a Jedi" resonate for a second or two before changing to the war on Chewy's planet... that would have made the opera scene sink in so much better. -

What are the contents of that DVD? The Beast Buy Lithograpgh so far is the lamest "freebie" associated with the DVD. 341628 I haven't had a chance to watch it yet but it looks like a clips show from all 6 movies hosted by the droids. Here's a box shot: -
