1. Hahahaha... that's from Cats and Dogs, right?
2. They just might when enough orders pile up in Japan to warrant a reissue, or if a new Patlabor anime release needs a marketing push. It's funny how I couldn't sell my extra EX Model kit of the command car for the longest time. Everybody drools over it until they found out the price tag Bandai slapped on the kit.
3. It still buggles the mind how Everlyn managed to record a phone conversation that is supposedly so secret even Logan's wife didn't know about - oh, by the way, wasn't Everlyn supposed to be glued to Martha like white on rice the whole time?
4. Agreed on both counts. The first 2 Patlabor movies were way ahead of their time and the TV series were a total hoot.
5. I'm not going to quote your jazillion line thing, but basically I think aliens have no place in Gundam. Gundam is about how there are "good" people and "bad" people and any group is composed of both. But it's about people. Aliens would take Gundam away from that, just like a Gundam where they were fighting an army of sentient robots would take it away. I don't think it's appropriate. Gundam is definitely about war, and I agree the Federation/Colonies thing is pretty played out. A new concept would be nice. But the AU stories with the exception of G Gundam insist on being tepid retellings of the original earth/colonies war. Because, hell, it worked the first time, why not?! They could have a war over just about anything else and still have it be about people fighting people and I would be fine with it. I like most of the UC stuff (okay, not most, but a lot, I still think 0083 is badly written crap, ZZ is well-animated but braindead, Victory is horrible et cetera), but G Gundam is really the only AU worthwhile in my opinion, because it's the only Gundam that is brave enough to do something -different-. Even Turn A's moon/Earth thing is pretty similar to the colonies/Earth thing, though Turn A is pretty wildly different. Mayyyyybe I can give Turn A credit for being different as well, but Wing, X, SEED, they're all hamfisted rehashes of the damn One Year War. Write a new story for Christ's sake, but UFOs are not necessary. 390390 You can easily replace the Devil Gundam thing in G Gundam with alien viral infection and have pretty much the same story. And making a Gundam show with aliens seem to qualify as 'brave enough to do something -different-'.
6. Do a search for "A Very Bootyful Christmas" over at AMV.org to find it. 389516 Found it... but can't seem to download it even after registering. The Local link doesn't start downloading, and the link at the bottom of that page just leads to a generic member page.
7. That could be a problem....Tomino wasn't too happy with the original soundtrack way back when MSG came to the states. I don't know if there's been any changes to the sound FX or music since he said that but it could be a possibility that they have been changed. 388807 I know they re-recorded the dialog track for the movie trilogy's R2 DVD release, but to change iconic sound effects such as the Zaku's mechanical sound when moving and the Gundam's beam rifle firing is plain retarded. Imagine if the latest edition of Star Wars episode 4-6 changed all the light saber sound effects to something that sounds like metal clanking instead.
8. This latest twist does nothing for me. As has been mentioned... it's totally illogical - who in their right mind would cook up some disastrous plan for the day your name goes down in the history books as having accomplished a major feat for global peace, not to mention it's totally out of character. You'd think somebody like the President of the United State is way too busy with his job to have the time and energy to come up with some out-there plans like this...
9. Just like some movies on VHS and LD, there are some anime titles that have yet to see a DVD release. For example, the original Mobile Suit Gundam TV series saw a LD release back in the late 1990s. Complete with the missing episode which was taken out of the US DVD release and intact with the originally recorded sound effects. It came in 2 huge box sets and was a limited pressing. There is also the Gundam F91 Symphonic concert on LD, which was never released on DVD as far as I know. For anime LDs, the first pressing editions always comes with nifty extras. Usually you get an insert of artwork featuring the show's characters. Sometimes you get bonus program content on the flip side like the UC Chronicles that came on Gundam 08th MS Team discs. Most LD boxes also come with insane exclusive contents. Take the Evangelion movie box for example. It came with a see-thru version of the Eva-01 model kit by Bandai, a plush Eva-05, a glow-in-the-dark Rei capsule figure, and a host of other stuff I can't recall for now. There is one big problem with LDs - laser rot. Because LDs are 2 discs glued together and laminated, during the manufacturing process air can get trapped inside and start a chemical reaction with the disc, causing it to oxidize and render the disc unfit for playback as time goes by. So unlike LPs, which will remain in good condition as long as you take good care of them, there's nothing you can do with LD's laser rot.
10. 'No Schwarzenegger = not a good movie.' Where's A1 when you needed him?
11. That's how the show's been... strong season opener, then downhill from there.
12. Trailer's up at Apple's site http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony_pictures/silenthill/hd/ I love how they used the music from SH2 for the trailer, and the cast looks good - I've always like the movies I've seen Sean Bean in, and Deborah Kara Unger = hot.
13. I've avoided reading this thread because I haven't seen the movie yet, so my apologies if this interview has been posted already: http://digitalcontentproducer.com/web_excl...teige_03012006/
14. Wow, game's not even out and a price drop already?! http://www.gamestop.com/search.asp?sortby=...mbat&platform=0
15. They nearly went out of business shortly after the NG64. If it weren't for the Korean company that bought them out and re-christened the company SNK Playmore did the company rise from the grave and continue milking existing franchises.
16. I can see Jack going for his XXX interrogation... make Audrey talk erotic style. Hey, they can even recycle the deleted scene from last season!
17. Damn, I used to have that EP with 'Bluesbreaker' on it... now where did it go... Brian May and Eddie just kick out the jams like no other...
18. Sutherland is part of the production team, I'm sure he has enough say to keep himself in the cast unless he got sick of the acting and decided to only work behind the scenes. 'Thank you for your cooperation.' Any bets on who dies this week?
19. My friend in Japan is getting it on the 23rd. I'll probably have him pick me up a copy too.
20. There was a heavy patch of makeup on her chin sticking out like a real eye sore in last week's episode. It's gone this week though... wonder if any digital touchup was involved. I don't really see any regular cast surviving after the last hour of the season though. These new writers just don't care for the characters and seem hellbent on killing every last one of them. What exactly did she change (chin?)? She was just beautiful the way she was. 378684
