Well, I'll be a sweaty monkey's butt. HLJ has to know that people who preordered at ¥29,520 will, if they find out about the sale, cancel in order to reserve anew at ¥26,568; they cannot be that oblivious, and ~ ¥3,000 is too much to ignore... so, that's exactly what I just did. This now makes HLJ the least expensive place to secure a copy, and no paying upfront BS like Big in Japan, and no ¥4700 EMS charge locked in... win-win; they get their sale and we get un unbeatable deal.

Ooh! Just got an email from N-Y confirming that my G and RVF Super Parts have shipped ,,, SAL, so I'll have to wait about 2 weeks to have them in my mitts.

The last set of pictures were drool worthy; things seem to be progressing nicely. I'm looking forward to the next installment. -
Better they thoroughly test and retest, find, and fix any potential weak areas, inadequate locks and attachments, and breakage prone spots now then to release a flawed, and very expensive, toy that could sink their fledgling company if the YF-19 proves to be a turkey. Take your time Arcadia, and give us a product that's beyond reproach.
-
There's only been 1 renewal by Bandai, the ones for the VF-25s/RVF-25. The VF-27 does not count; that was a rework of the old toy, not a back-to-the-drawing-board, newly engineered, 100% new toy. Although, there is always the chance that subsequent releases of the YF-30 (recolors), could include tweaks/fixes just like the Super Parts for the VF-25G which has tabs not present on, or modified from, those released for the VF-25F and S. Regardless, if the YF-30 is indeed a Tamashii exclusive, I'll be preordering as soon as it goes up on N-Y; otherwise I'll wait for release, but in either case I'm getting one of these.

MANDARAKE has one for 13000 Yen (Storefront item so it may have some minor box wear/damage). AE has one for 14000 Yen (actual MSRP) N-Y has several in stock for 16000 Yen; they also have the Super Parts available for preorder for 5480 Yen

Medicom's Sakura Wars Koubu Neded!
mechaninac replied to RainBot's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
AmiAmi lists the toys' sizes at app. 16cm (tall) = 6.3"; they're non scale, but if they're anything like the old Wave kits they're 1:24-ish.- 5 replies

Wasn't GiTS itself heavily influenced, at least in visual look and style, by Blade Runner? I may be wrong, but I "recall" reading that somewhere...
-
Test shots are always run off unfinished injection molds; the inside surfaces have not yet received their final finish (high polish for gloss on the VF-19, etched for matte on everything else)... note that all the test shot images, regardless of the final product, have the same semi-gloss appearance. The whole point is to test the tools to make sure they work as designed, and that all the molded pieces fit as intended; once they're satisfied with the tools' performance, they'll add the proper inner treatment to achieve the desired molded plastic finish; then they'll have a final test shot, or even a pilot run, to make sure everything is ironed out, from the final appearance of the toy, to the efficiency of the production and assembly lines.

What part of "test shot", what it entails and what it is meant to accomplish, don't you understand? As for it being worth the asking price...

Exactly. A spy plane offers versatility unattainable by other means. -

You can't recall a missile. -
Just got my VF-25A from CDJ today; 18 days door-to-door via SAL... not a record by any measure (that goes to a 6 days transit SAL from HS), but not too bad, and the contents were very well packaged and arrived in perfect condition. To be honest, the only retailer that has disappointed me with shoddy boxing, resulting in contents damage, is NinNin; although, N-Y often does a really poor job packaging too... I've just been lucky to never have incurred any damage.
-
Bought my second one with CDJ, myself... their sale was hard to resist. It shipped SAL on the 25th, so it's been 15 days and counting, and nothing yet, but it could take upwards of two weeks for delivery so I'm expecting to get it this week; BTW, you'll like the 25A, it's a lovely bird.
-
It doesn't look terrible, but it doesn't look that good either; mediocre is how I'd describe my first impression to this last trailer... it may be worth a rental.

I'd love to see pictures of the final off tool sample myself before committing to a preorder, and the YF-19 always struck me as Ivory in color; the original 1/60 YF-19 was perfect in this regard... make it any version of white, Arcadia, and it's a no sale.
