  1. What should give you, or anybody, a clear sense of what parts have to move/shift, where they go, and in what order to seamlessly transform the VF-25 series is to assemble one of Bandai's 1/72 fully transformable Messiah kits; their engineering is very similar to the DX renewal toys. Putting one of those models together will help anyone to become familiar with how all the parts relate to each other. When I got my first renewal, the original 25F release, I breezed through the transformation, finding it almost as easy to accomplish as Yamato's VF-1 and VF-11, and I credit having experience with assembling and transforming the model kit prior to ever getting the toy.
  2. So that's where the fridge ended up... Ganymede Rock Lobster for the win, baby.
  3. That would be EPIC in size, weight, gimmicks, price, cost of shipping, tentency for stressing/looseness of joints, shelf -- heck, room corner -- hogging presence!... Bring it!
  4. If we're talking models than I'd agree with you, but if we're discussing toys...
  5. Oh Dang! I'll play this by ear, same as I'm doing with Ozma's YF-29... will not preorder. If Bandai really wants to tempt me, they'll have to announce the 25S reissue, the YF-30's release date, maybe a Grace/CF VF-27, or the YF-24. One thing is for sure: The 25 and 29 are proving to be some prolific molds... definitely giving the VF-1 a run for its money.
  6. I agree with you regarding the perceived worth of these toys, but BBTS's prices aren't outrageous considering that AmiAmi has these things, at 22% off, for preorder as well, and for far more than BBTS is charging... the Speeder MKII, for instance, is 14800 Yen (~ $145) before shipping.
  7. If it can't be fixed with duct tape, super glue, or penetrating oil, it can't be fixed...
  8. The sale price was $46.12 (HK$349). Since I have no need to get it right away I chose the cheapest option: Air-mail postage @ $19.30 to the US (their version of SAL), quoted to take 10-14 days for delivery, but if it takes 3 weeks I'm still fine with it. Their other options are Registered Air-mail for $24.19 (Registered SAL), and Speedpost's $37.14 (EMS). And the best part is that, if you process your purchase in USD, you get charged in USD, so there are no Paypal exchange fees to add to your cost. That means you opted for the same shipping option I did because my final price was $65.42 on the dot, and I'm in the East coast too.
  9. Just purchased a Yamato 1/60 VF-1A assembly kit with option parts from HK Collectbles... couldn't resit their 55% off sale (< 66 USD, shipped), so I had to give this kit a try for that price. Now to think up what sort of color scheme and livery to apply to it.
  10. Overpriced by Anime figure standards? Not at all. Overpriced by McFarlane standard quality junk? Absolutely!
  11. Pinky's lonely, so I've gotta get one.
  12. ...but a Tomahawk is a general purpose Native American Hatchet, not a tribe's name. Mohawk, on the other hand... I agree that the Phalanx would be a much easier project to bring to fruition given that the lower half is 98% ready to produce, if Arcadia inherited the molds, and the upper half had already been designed and prototyped, even if it was for an HDP run. Still, I'd love to see Zero's Cheyenne and Octos, and Frontier's Cheyenne MK II (Bandai's prerogative, I know), made as 1/60 toys.
  13. The VF-2SS would be beyond a "grail" piece to me; it would be the "Arc of the Covenant", crowning glory, of my collection... if Arcadia or Bandai were to release this much ignored stepchild of the Macross universe in 1/60, fully transformable glory, I would be able to honestly say that I could finally purchase THE one, definitive, piece that would bring me absolute satisfaction as a Macross toy collector. Also agree on the TV SDF-1; it's been overlooked for far too long.
  14. So, those who do not have, nor want, Netflix are out of luck? Well, that sucks.
  15. 1/60, despite the small size, would be nice because the mecha would be in scale with Yamato/Arcadia's and Bandai's Macross toys, and should mean a lower, more affordable, price point; however, 1/48 would be much better for increased detail, and go great with the old Yamatos of the same scale. Either way, I look forward to some concrete information, and pictures.
  16. Make it hap'n Cap'n!
  17. And it looks like an SD piece to boot... way too wide for its height. The crew at Arcadia must be smoking some really funny $#!7.
  18. Now we're talking... as long as it's not something like those horrendously small and overpriced Palm Action toys.
  19. I'd be exited and saving up my pennies if it were a TV SDF-1, but another, non-scale, DYRL version, and for 7500 Yen no less = pass. Besides, based on the image, my 1/5000 Wave movie color edition looks better.
  20. Hey, you can call your second, damaged/modified, GX-64 the Space Battleship Musashi...
  21. Yeah, I'm not going to entertain anything over 17000 Yen; it's either that or bust... either way, I win.
