  1. I knew that ordering window at HLJ was too good to be true... and
  2. @derex3592: I know what you mean about prices on AutoArt 1/18 diecasts, they're charging ludricous amounts of cash right off the gate; I just got their orange Mclaren MP4-12C... priciest piece in my 1/18 collection, but beautiful. As for the Huyra, it's stunning; I got the GTAutos version in bronze/gold, and although the front panel does not open and there is no luggage compartment, it's still quite a nice piece.
  3. Looking at that picture, I assume that Arcadia's 3D designer forgot to chamfer (bevel) the edge of that feature in the CAD model (it's a common oversight in 3D modeling), and since the toolmaker uses the 3D data they are provided to create the toolpaths for cutting the molds, that error is built into the injection molds. The fact that we can clearly see that the right feature has the beveled edge and the left's edge is sharp would seem to indicate that, thoughout the many design reviews, pilot runs, and test shots handling, nobody at Arcadia noticed or ran across a problem caused by this error. Of course, this is all speculation based on a single image, so it may be a unique case, but I highly doubt that that's the only one; if I'm right, this is something present on every copy of the batch that came from that production run. My advice is to move very slowly during transformation, and inspecting that part; if it isn't chamfered on that corner, break out the needle files and add the bevel to match the side that has it.
  4. I see what you mean, that box structure miraculously becomes shorter when the clamshell opens. All the closed shell line art seem to show the longer box structure on top, but, as stated, that would severely cut on internal volume; nice catch and compromise...shows you've been staring at this thing, and considering the compromises necessary to make it all work, far longer than I have.
  5. I was engaging in a bit hyperbole. I own a Yamato YF-19 with Fold Booster and never thought it looked that bad, but it never looked right either... the conspicuous gullet and arched-back look, made visually worse because of the gullet, made it the least satisfying of all of Yamato's post Zero releases. I'm sure Arcadia's version will prove to have its share of quirks and WTFs; but in comparison, it far outshines its predecessor... much like original 1/60 19 trounced the 1/72.
  6. Those side by side images with the Yamato 19 are like a comparison between a super model and a chimpanzee...
  7. Amazing work, but if I may make a suggestion/observation... shouldn't the top's box structure be longer according to that line art? The included images illustrate my point (before with the area in question highlighted, and after with the stretched/longer structure).
  8. I just checked. FedEx is 4010 Yen for a single copy of this toy. If you're shipping it by itself, EMS is a better deal.
  9. Amiami Is it wrong to want to be that frog?... PS.: not quite safe for work. If mods find it offensive, please delete.
  10. Simple math: spending less on any one item frees up funds to spend on other stuff. And knowing you got a good deal is always rewarding.
  11. Paid for my HLJ YF-19 preorder as well; in the PW system it goes, waiting for a few other items to ship along. So, is it now official that, taking shipping and Black Friday Sales into consideration, HLJ ended up being the least expensive rout to aquire one of these babies?
  12. Gun firing effect?
  13. Yes, you can pay via PayPal, and through that you can even opt for Bill_Me_Later. You can pay at any time between when the order is placed and the invoice is issued, usually a week or two before the item is stocked, if you select 'Pay Later' during the checkout process for preorders.
  14. I got order confirmations, with order numbers, for a S and a G. Now I await the likely "we're sorry, but" email. It was fun to be able to just add those items to the cart and proceed with checkout with no drama, though...
  15. Imposing...
  16. You may have gotten your first, but chances are that it won't be your last... the renewals are that good. There is a 25A for 135 USD on AE, but once you add shipping your price was not too far off. Paint apps vary from perfect to flawed -- it's a luck of the draw kind of thing; although, more often than not, they are damn good.
  17. Here you go... Read his entire review then scroll to the bottom and enjoy.
  18. Does CDJapan's Paypal option give you the choice to select Bill_Me_Later on Paypal's site? If so, given that the total comes to more than 100 USD, you'd get 6 months, with no interest, to pay for the purchase. I know N-Y has that option available as I've done this with my YF-29 Isamu.
  19. ... and 45min+ later, all 30 are still available.
  20. Although it's a little hard to make out, one of the magazine scans on the previous page has a 3D CAD rendered view of the bottom of the plane which seems to show 2 ordnance hard points per wing.
  21. While the possibility always exists that the price could drop somewhat shortly after release, the fact that Arcadia's YF-19 is being manufactured to meet preorders means there'll likely be precious few extra units produced, too little to affect retail. Unless there are a lot, and I do mean a lot, of no-pays causing seller to sit on unsold stock, or Arcadia decides to produce a second run, I don't see the price going anywhere but up... just like what happened with Yamato's VF-4G.
  22. No. They're going to issue Renewal specific Tornado parts, not a v.1 rerelease, and they announced a second re-pop of the VF-25F Renewal, which was never a Tamashii exclusive. So, Bandai's track record of not reissuing Tamashii web exclusive releases holds true.
  23. Megahouse's 2199 Girls and Guys PVC figures are 1/8, Bandai's AU-09 model kit is to be 1/12, so I'd say... not even close to the same scale. However, Analyzer will look right at home with Figmas; there's an idea for Max Factory: 2199 Figmas...
  24. I still get a major SU-47 Berkut vibe off Osma's YF-29... Quick question: Alto's Durandal was a (the?) prototype, but with so many other units, and even versions (based on head designs), fielded, shouldn't this Valkyrie's nomenclature be VF-29 at this point?
  25. I could be wrong, wouldn't be surprised to be, but that YF-30 looks remarkably like a production ready, fully decorated, test shot to me... release announcement can't be far off. It's such a pretty bird too. Does anyone know if it'll be a general release or Tamashii exclusive?
