  1. I believe hevangel2 means shattered, but that does not make sense either as tempered glass does not spontaneously break; it requires a severe thermal shock, or physical impact or drop, or a focused hit to a pane under stress for that kind of glass shatter.
  2. Of that list I find Armageddon to be the absolute worst... utter crap that makes other crap embarrassed. I've seen (suffered trough) it once and would vote to include it to the list of cruel and unusual torture tactics banned for being too brutal. To me it is utterly unwatchable, making everything else on that list a masterpiece by comparison.
  3. How fast it will be able to suck money right out of your wallet/bank account?
  4. I like this Billy Valbo Bookcase; it's only 11" (28cm) deep, but it is very elegant in design and will accommodate most of the stuff we tend to collect; if only it were available without the decorative etching on the glass doors...
  5. That's uncanny... Deffinetely Ferngully, with Dances with Wolves and, thanks to reddsun1 pointing it out, Disney's Pocahontas, and others too I'm sure, thrown in as well in copious doses. Let's face it. Avatar was grossly derivative, but still a good movie that's easy to enjoy (aside from originality, what more can you ask of any film?) that, despite it's environmentalist message, was nowhere near as preachy as Elysium was. And it is a feast for the eyes.
  6. Wow! Looks like the threw the bayformers version of Megatron and Edward Scizor Hands into a blender...
  7. Bandai, you nincompoops, rerelease the Ozma VF-25S already!!!
  8. Is Bandai taking hits off Arcadia's bong?... That MSRP is just...
  9. Come on now; this is Macrossworld, so... of course not.
  10. I wish Bandai would rerelease their VB-6 DX... I skipped getting it because I have the Yamato version (floppy, ungainly POS), but now I regret it a bit, but not enough to pay the going rate on those, like at plamoya.com. BTW, for anyone who doesn't want to take any chances after release, plamoya has the YF-25 up for preorder at MSRP, just look out for their shipping charges.
  11. I was lucky enough to snag one off AmiAmi... guess all the stars lined up just right, because it surprised the heck out of me when the order went through and the confirmation email was received ; I doubt that'll ever happen again. At this point I'd stay away from Nin-Nin like they're plague carriers and just keep a sharp eye on Hobby Search, HLJ, and even N-Y around release time; one of them is bound to have some stock of this particular piece.
  12. Some, very few, transformers I find interesting; but ultimately, I dislike the very premise behind them: That of sentient cybernetic beings who transform from robot form to vehicle or animal-ish form to, ostensibly, hide in plain sight. YFs and VFs and VBs, Orguss, Ride Armors and Legioss and Tread, etc., are hardware, piloted by individuals; other than the transformation gimmick, they're no different from a VOTOM, or Mobile Suit, or a real-world military jet or bomber. As for the VF-1J 30th... that thing would have to hit the 80-75% off mark before I'd ever consider buying it... There are far more attractive and desirable collectibles vying for my limited disposable funds for me to spend any of it on something I consider an eyesore.
  13. Alternate color schemes? I'm fairly positive that is a certainty. They have to amortize all that tooling and all; just look at all the YF-29s to get an idea where this is going... I hope.
  14. I only used Nin-Nin once, for a RVF-25 Luca renewal; overpaid for the damned thing, and ended up with a crushed box for my trouble because of their piss-poor packaging. Never again!
  15. 25A and 25S take top honors in color based aesthetics in my book... and I don't even own a 25S DX yet; but, for whatever reason, I'm not too fond of the S's head design.
  16. The only things on the Arcadia YF-19 that I could identify as being the exact same as that used on Yamato's VF-19s are the landing gear struts, wheels and tires... nothing else is interchangeable (I haven't taken mine apart so I can't be sure that the ankle joints aren't the same too, but I believe they're not); hence, different tooling. By this token, it is possible that the new Arcadia VF-0D could reuse the same tooling for those specific parts, but I doubt they will after so many years since the previous VF-0s from Yamato. So, given the similar sizes, materials, volumes, amount of new design/engineering work, new tooling, etc., I think it's very appropriate to use the recent YF-19's MSRP as a basis for speculating on the price of next year's VF-0D, +/- ~2000 Yen.
  17. Better to have it included and not use it, than not have one and want it...
  18. You're right, there are no VAT or import duties in the USA for personal purchases shipped from overseas, at least for now...
  19. Pay more for the item and less for the shipping with HS or less for the item and more for the shipping with N-Y; either way, I'm glad I got one off HLJ's Black Friday Sale when I did.
  20. Caved in as well, and since I had a few points available for redemption with them the total came to just under $210 shipped by SAL, pending the exchange rate at the time the amount is actually charged, and how much of a transaction fee my CD will hit me with. I'm not too happy paying full price when I know that this was fleetingly available at a discount, but at least I can cross this off the list.
  21. Preordered as well. I so love the hassle free nature of Tamashii exclusives.
  22. Hey, some folks who may be desperate enough to purchase one might take a bite of N-Y's patently obvious after-market level gouging. Personally, I find their bald faced opportunism to cash in royally on a hot item to be hysterical and cynical in equal measures.
  23. The original release, which I already have, is good enough for me; however, this is a pretty good opportunity for anyone who may be interested in Saber wearing her armor, to get a non-inflated deal... it's also bound to be somewhat improved over the 1.0 version. What I really whish to see is pre-production images, accompanied with release date, for the previously announced GitS SAC Motoko Kusanagi Figma.
  24. Unfortunately, being a jock sniffer is considered normal, and encouraged by popular, celebrity oriented, culture; but being a toy/model collector is considered immature, childish, and geeky. It's the same mentality that elevates rappers and derides "nerds", even though it's the "nerds", in large part, who've created all the stuff that the judgmental masses take for granted. In the end, who gives a flying fornication what others think of your hobby(s)? And if others' opinions bother you too much, than hide your stuff out of sight, or get rid of it in order to conform.
  25. 34800 Yen?!! Seriously?.. That's some pretty potent funny ganja Arcadia's been smoking...
