  1. Let's face it, the three original movies for the '90s were utter crap, but they had one redeeming quality: The titled characters looked like themselves, or at least very close to their depiction in the cartoon of the period -- to familiar with how they were drawn in the comics. Bay's reboot turtles look like ogres... excluding the trumpet ears and bulbous nose, and the inclusion of the shells, they all look like Shrek!
  2. They're legit... opportunistic bastards when it comes to high demand items like the VF-25S, but legit. They are the go-to place for Tamashii exclusives, and almost always seem to be able to get stock for stuff that's sold-out everywhere else (at a price, so they tend to be an outlet of last resort after their initial listings sell out), and I've never known them to not deliver on what the sell... you may experience delays on occasion, YF-29 Ozma comes to mind, but you'll get the item in the end, and usually well packaged.
  3. Reason, Arcadia don' need no stink'n reason?... They might use $5-$10 worth of content -- they have in the past -- as a pretext for charging $50-$60+ extra, though.
  4. I hate myself for doing it, but I too went ahead and preordered one at N-Y's inflated price just so I don't have to stay on the hunt for stock to be available elsewhere for less; should that occur and I am online and happen upon it in the future I'll get a second Ozma, but at least I'll have one to finally complete my Frontier collection... at a bit under $200.00 shipped via SAL, it's pricey but doable, and cheaper than a YF-30.
  5. Not necessarily, but chances are that they would. The way I see it, not the way Bandai/Tamashii might view it, having the packs included with the Valks, in uniquely designed boxes, with their own GE-#s would nicely circumvent the limited edition trap inherent in their Web Shop Exclusive paradigm.
  6. First time I've seen it, too. The red flight suit and long hair does bump up the figure's sexiness by a couple of orders of magnitude...
  7. The only likely way you'll ever see the Super or Armored Parts issued again would be as part of Bundle packages with their respective Valks. The fact that every accessory pack has been released as a Tamashii Web Shop, limited edition, exclusive precludes them from ever being reissued in the same manner as they originally were.
  8. First time I've been seriously tempted to get a Super Sonico figure
  9. So was Miria at first, and once again, to a lesser degree, in M7. Not that excuses Nora's character flaws; but then, any chance she had for any redemption was cut short rather spectacularly... Besides, the point was to recall human female pilots in Macross, not their respective level of bitchiness.
  10. There's also Nora Poliansky; she was all human, a bad-ass chick, smoking hot despite the scars, and an ace enemy pilot.
  11. This hobby would be so much easier if I were a member of the idle rich with free time to burn, or had lackeys scouring the net on my behalf...
  12. Damn my rotten luck. HLJ comes up when I'm already driving to work... missed them all. Maybe HLJ will reopen preorders at a more convenient time and I'll be able to score one like I did Ozma's 29.
  13. The originals weren't Figmas, even though they were produced by Max Factory. The original Guyver 1 action figure, for example, is stated to be about 170mm tall; the new Figma version is quoted as 150-155mm... so, 1/10-ish to Figma's 1/12-ish.
  14. This s--t is nuts. I've had enough. I'm off to bed.
  15. I'm just glad I don't have any interest in Hot Toys... It would be game over for sure Macross figmas...
  16. Man, has this thread gotten weird...
  17. Ah! Make it stop! My wallet can't take it... Between Bandai, Arcadia/Yamato, and Max Factory -- to name a few -- I'll end up in the poor house...
  18. I wonder how this Guyver will compare to Max Factory's original Guyver Action Figure release in terms of size, articulation, etc... those are crazy expensive now.
  19. I can only wish the VF-25S will be this widely available...
  20. I wouldn't be against 1/60; but given the relatively small size of the mecha, 1/48 would be a better, more robust, choice.
  21. Oh damn ... as if 2014 hasn't been expensive enough already, 2015 is promising to be just as much of a wallet buster. I suppose it's still too soon to know scale and price, right?
  22. Err... if you go by 8-31 you will be a month too late.
  23. That was Alto. Ozma's 25 can be clearly seen equipped with the Armor Pack in that clip. Edit.: The Old Man beat me to it...
