  1. It's been quite a while since the last VF-25 was released/reissued, and still not a peep on a VF-25G re-release...
  2. I don't think the word epic is anywhere near "epic" enough to describe this project. This is the sort of thing that, upon witnessing, either inspires one to improve one's abilities beyond his/her competence/comfort level, or prompts a hobbyist to swear off modeling/scratch building altogether, and gather all hobby tools into a trash bin for ignominious disposal...
  3. A gloss finish is inherently more reflective than a matte one, even when dealing with the much longer wavelengths of the radio spectrum of EM energy. It's not much, but every little bit counts towards a planes' low observability quotient.
  4. @ that last picture...
  5. It seems that 'wrong color', 'wrong shade', 'wrong tone', 'wrong hue', 'wrong saturation', will be a recurring theme with most Macross related releases by Arcadia... certainly every M0 offering so far.
  6. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Arcadia did learn the wrong lesson from the 30th 1J fiasco and jumped to the conclusion to which you allude.
  7. The whole thing has so many big IFs that one has to take it all with a healthy dose of skepticism. However, if the claims of measured thrust prove true and a working prototype can be eventually tested in space (just like they did with Ion Drives), the EM drive could turn out to be a boon for interplanetary exploration and exploitation, and even future colonization and tourism; but this has the massive potential of turning out to be just another Fleischmann & Pons style cold fusion hoax. The photon rocket thing had me scratching my head too... it's a misnomer. Photons do exert pressure; therefore, thrust, but there is no such thing as a photon engine that derives its thrust from direct emission of light or other forms of EM energy... that would be like using a flashlight or laser emitter as an engine. The closest thing that comes to mind would be the indirect approach of a solar sail.
  8. O, come on now. The Andromeda is boss, but you've gotta admit that this one is pretty cool too.
  9. EM Drive, the impossible rocket engine seems to be not so impossible after all...
  10. My apologies in advance for the extremely crappy photos... but they'll get the point across, vis-à-vis the relative size compared to the 1/100 kit [the whole PBC -- or is it a rail gun? -- is 10" (254 mm) long].
  11. It would be neat if the series started with the fighter types from 2199, only to have the Hayabusa prove itself inadequate to the threat presented in the new series, prompting the introduction of a new Space Superiority Fighter (Cosmo Tiger II) to replace it over the last third of the season.
  12. I'm already beginning to salivate at the prospect of 1/1000 kits of all the EDF ships, Andromeda and Borodino most of all..
  13. If Arcadia is truly "all-in", I'd like to see them tackle the ADR-03-MIII Destroid Cheyenne and the Octos.
  14. The first and third are pretty cool. The second just looks like Alto's, with the red swapped for blue. The Highlander version... just NO.
  15. There is an extra piece that the peg inserts into that allows for the wings to tilt; it just hasn't been modeled, yet. This 3D model, something I started and dropped over 3 years ago, is entirely based off Bandai's 1/100 kit, and has the exact same basic components and parts breakdown, with very little alterations other than the combining of parts (Ex.: The PBC "lance" is one piece instead of 2) and/or added bits (Ex.: The flip-down face shield mounts to a C-bracket that is inserted between locating rails built into the head shroud). I actually built some of the parts (the lance, PBC emitter housing, targeting sensor - the white piece with the wing antenna opposite the PBC, the shroud, and face shield and its bracket on my company's SLA250 machine, scaled up to 1/60 of course... the end results are huge (the lance grows from 117.5mm to an impressive 195.8mm in length, and when you attach it to the emitter housing... Wow!).
  16. No, it's Ivanov's father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate...
  17. Those slots are indeed very suggestive of the SAP being released in the future. However, if 2SS ends up not selling well enough to warrant production of this most important and iconic accessory, I'll have to resort to plan B...
  18. So, I guess the point of that 10 minute long, profanity laced, verbose, rapid fire diatribe, is that MovieBob didn't like Pixels... with a foaming-at-the-mouth passion. This movie had Adam Sandler crap-fest plastered all over it from the nanosecond it was announced; did he expect anything else?
  19. Hehe... are you expecting her to end up "gagging" on something?...
  20. For you anime... RAH Elsa
  21. Got my shipping notification email from AmiAmi yesterday. I went with SAL Small Packet Registered as I can wait 2-4 weeks, and it was the cheapest option offered; regular SAL turned out to be even more expensive than EMS... go figure. Final cost wasn't too bad either.
  22. It's up for order at Amiami as well. I just placed an order with Amiami and cancelled the preorder I had with HLJ (it's one of the things I really like about HLJ -- their painless cancellation)... they were taking too long to send me a payment request; besides, Amiami has a better price which I hope won't be cancelled out too much by higher shipping costs (chose SAL, but will be okay with Registered SAL).
  23. Alien law enforcement and "instilling a moral code"?... Sounds far more like a rehash of Space Precinct, + beat the audience over the head of PC nonsense, than The Last Starfighter, and has FAIL plastered all over it.
  24. ... Ah! The good 'ol days of toys that could be used as bludgeons, capable of inflicting concussions, blunt force trauma, and even brain injuries... those were the days...
