Thank you... finally able to get in on a pre-order for one.
  2. Indeed. That came out of nowhere, and then you're just left slack-jawed, going... damn!!! Intense episode.
  3. ... and red dwarfs aside, our sun is kind of a runt in comparison to some of the heavyweights in our Galaxy, which is a damned good thing.

VF-1S Hikaru @ HLJ VF-1S Hikaru @ CDJ VF-1J Hikaru w/GBP1S @ HLJ VF-1J Hikaru w/GBP1s @ CDJ Edit: When searching specific items at HLJ, you have to check the box for Display Discontinued Items. At CDJ you have to check the box for incl. Out of Print.
  6. ^... It's not the styrene... it's the paint thinner and plastic cement fumes...
  7. Didn't Luke make a similar comment, although not in a firefight context, regarding the inability to see anything out of the Stormtrooper helmet?... Very entertaining season 2 so far.
  8. Neodymium magnets, even small ones in the 1/8" sq -1/4" sq range, are surprisingly strong. This little 1/4"x1/4"x1/16" block magnet, for example, has a pull force of 1.77 lbs; a couple of them per side, pulling against each other (even with 1-3mm plastic separation), strategically placed, would provide quite a hold... maybe too much, perhaps.
  9. A bit of matching white paint will do wonders in minimizing the visual impact of those screws. For those fugly tabs, nothing short of cutting the off will suffice, but then you'd need to come up with some alternate solution for locating, stabilizing, and locking the two carapace halves... Properly aligned and strong rare earth magnets might do the trick.
  10. Considering that the VF-0A Shin Kudo type is still available at NY for 28,920Â¥ and HLJ for 31,320Â¥, unless the VF-0S proves a bulletproof release right off the gate, it's mostly safe to assume that it will be available at or near retail for quite some time after release.
  11. As far as the Revell SW kits are concerned, I'll only give consideration to subjects not offered in the Bandai lineup; there's just no comparison in detail and quality, and for roughly the same prices even with the procurement hoops imposed by Disney... who'd want a Revell neo-X-wing with soft and crude detail, and inaccurate proportions, when Bandai's version looks spot-on?
  12. Couldn't resist once I knew this was full cast-off with lingerie in-between ... I know, I'm a perv . Decided to go with Big in Japan, however.
  13. ... A roller coaster that shakes every last bit of loose change out of your pockets.
  14. The year of canned beans and cup-o-noodles...
  15. If Evolution Toys wishes/cares to prevent massive cancellations of their standalone Silvie version, they better announce, very soon, that the SAP will be available for purchase by itself for people who would like to equip the first release VF-2, maybe at a later date than the Nexx bundle but confirmed as a certainty nonetheless; otherwise, what is the incentive for buying the Gena type?
  16. So, 1/6050 scale according to a length of 1210 meters for the "real" SDF-1. I wish it were 1/5000 to go with the Wave W.H.A.M. DYRL? version; but oh well, beggars can't be choosers... at least until something better comes along, so I'm still in for one.

^I'd hazard a guess that Bandai's internal sales projections were not very favorable, on all accounts...
  18. Sine this is a discussion about "robots", this little devil would be a bit more apropos...
  19. That's what I've come to suspect too. With all the recent announcements, it's obvious Bandai is out o bankrupt me, with a vengeance... ...
