To the best of my knowledge, the USA does not charge import/customs fees... at least I've never encountered it, no matter how large the box or how high the declared value on the shipping label, whether if by SAL, EMS, or FedEx.

To this day, my favorite Valkyrie toy, the one I would save over all others if came down to it, is my Yamato 1/48 VF-1A Low Visibility (grey) Color Limited Edition.

N-Y have finally gotten around to me to "ask" -- how can it be asking if they're holding my item hostage pending remuneration of additional funds? -- for an extra $8.00 for shipping with their sheepish "Unfortunately this order is bigger then expected..." BS; like I've mentioned before, CDJ would've honored their initial shipping charge and eaten the difference. But... Tamashii Web Exclusive, so very few alternatives. At least I should be getting it, eventually.

If all the wingtips do is rotate 90o up from horizontal, the best solution would be some type of lock -- pull out to unlock, rotate up, push in to lock, for example.

Since you mentioned, I went ahead and checked my PayPal account just in case, and... butkus. Come the end of Monday EST, if I haven't received any communication, I'll have to contact them to see what's up. If things get ugly I can always dispute the charge via Paypal on the grounds of "item not delivered".

My preorder, placed early on to secure a stand and optioned for Registered SAL, is still listed as preparation in progress; the email notifying me of this status was received on the 19th. I'll wait until Monday before contacting them regarding it, but so far, the whole situation is very confusing with some of you guys stating that N-Y misquoted shipping and are now demanding additional money via messages that have not gone through in as much of 50% of the cases -- with them assuming they did without following up despite having been made aware of the snafu (I recall one occasion when CDJapan undercharged on shipping for one of my preorders because their estimate was based off erroneous data, but they honored their original charge without ever asking for additional funds or making a fuss), or others saying that they claim to having received insufficient stock from whatever supplier they use to cover all the orders they've accepted, or both... All I know is that I ordered early enough to qualify for the bonus stand, selected a shipping method they offered, chose pay later as that was allowed at the time, paid in full when asked after they changed their exclusive items preoder policy, received the Preparation email, and then chirping crickets. I expect, nay, demand, to get what I ordered and paid for in good faith.

Got mine yesterday... over two weeks sooner than I expected since I went with the SAL option. I can honestly say that every last bit of criticism and ire leveled at this toy is richly deserved. I'm glad I let my full price pre-order slip and got it at almost 1/2 off, just to satisfy my curiosity; otherwise, I would've been furious. Fighter mode not only looks disgracefully bad from all but a few angles -- a shame since the VF-2SS has such a striking fighter design, it's gappy and won't hold together at all... it's just pathetic; and although battroid looks decent enough, I've been cursed with a loosey-goossey right ankle. Evolution Toys, you guys have failed on an epic scale... I suggest your entire design, engineering, and QC staff commit seppuku as a form of atonement. -

To me, the VF-31A takes the best aspects of the YF-30 and the FSW VF-31s, and combines them into one hell of a package that is greater than the sum of those that inspired its design... add the realistic low viz scheme and it's pure awesome. If there's any more room left in that bandwagon, count me in it.

You're half right; the arms are on the undercarriage, but they stow one in front of the other with the right arm shoulder facing forward and the wrists connecting to form a "single" box structure. See image below, courtesy of M3

The only reason I actually selected N-Y's USD currency option is because it afforded me the opportunity to use Paypal Credit in order to get 6 months to pay without interest... more of a personal accounting gimmick that anything else. -

I do hope Arcadia ends up offering the Fast Packs as separate accessories, just like Yamato did in the past; otherwise, I'm not biting because I already own a V2 VF-1S Roy and I don't need another.

Time to see for myself just how decent =/= mediocre =/= horrible Evolution Toys' VF-2SS Silvie Gena really is. I just placed an order for a copy with Nippon-Yasan. They've slashed the price from ¥20480 to ¥11980 + shipping ($139.84 shipped via SAL for me); at this price I figured it's worth it just to sate my curiosity. -
