  1. I don't get the hate/hatred/hater accusations either; refusal to spend hard-earned money on something that someone has decided, from all available information, to be crap is not hatred, it's prudence and discretion. Mass market movies, specially summer flicks, are absolutely sold on appearance, and name recognition if available (check and check for this Ghostbusters attempt), in order to generate interest... that's what the trailers are for, after all. The fact is that, to a great many, the trailers for this particular movie have failed to inspire positive anticipation and to cash in on nostalgia over the originals. If it looks good to one person: great, go see it; if it does not: wait for the home release if so inclined or ignore it until it hits cable. Voicing a positive opinion does not make one a Pollyanna, and sharing a negative one does not make one a hater, either... different people have different tastes.
  2. ^JarJar runs around aimlessly shouting "meessa gonna die!" when an AT-AT foot comes down -- SPLAT! (like Bambi meets Godzilla). For a brief moment thereafter, all hostilities between Imperial Forces and Rebels cease, then a couple of seconds of stunned silence followed by thunderous cheers from all combatants...
  3. The odd thing is that Nickelodeon's contemporary TMNT series is surprisingly, thoroughly good, for kids and young-at-heart adults; heck, the original '90s flicks, as silly as they were, including (barely) the godawful III, were better than the modern movie take... which is really baffling until you remember that it is a Michael Bay project.
  4. ^ Because engaging in such shallow, transparent baiting makes them see themselves as morally and intellectually superior and tend to impress insipid minds who buy into that narrative. That being said, I'm positive that this new Ninja Turtles movie will blow the kind of rancid chunks that only a Bay associated flick can.
  5. That Samus with the spray-on blue body suit is so bought!...
  6. Just saw the first one recently off a free Epix preview. I had an entirely different experience, and thought it was pretty bad, so much so that I had to watch it over the course of a couple of days as it put me to sleep roughly half way through on the first night, and almost repeated the feat on the second. I agree with you on the fun for kids opinion... ADD riddled kids, that is.
  7. From NX-2000 to NCC-2000 to NCC-1701-B, it's all the same filming model AFAIK... The question regarding this new series, for me, is will it air on CBS or not? The teaser seems to hint at a broadcast, bu if they stick to the original intent to offer the series only through their premium online service, then they can stuff the whole thing up their collective sphincters.
  8. I NEED that 0083 Powered GM in my Master Grade collection. What hoops does one have to go through to secure a copy?
  9. Those prices are beyond ridonculous... the make the Mega House Orguss Hi-Specs seem reasonably priced by comparison...
  10. The easiest "fix" is to just ignore fighter mode altogether and transform it for permanent display in battroid configuration.
  11. So, you're admitting that you're a masochist twice over... ... And Lolicon wins the "Glutton for Punishment" award.
  12. Just a quick query of anyone who got the original release Orguss through HLJ: How much did they charge for shipping, EMS and/or FedEx? N-Y, Amiami, and HobbySearch are all cheaper options upfront, but once you factor in shipping... N-Y, for example, wants 6150 yen for SAL Registered, 6800 yen for EMS.
  13. Crud! I resisted the temptation to order the original Orguss release, but Megahouse is not making it easy to keep my discipline... I still think this thing is way too overpriced, but it does look super nice.
  14. We'll just have to agree to disagree, and I'll refrain from articulating how telling it is of people who want to push what you want to push on small kids...
  15. This is a children's movie. Disney should leave any overt characterization of a character's non-traditional sexuality out of it; subtly imply it if they must so that adults get it, but stop with the in-you-face 'Heather has Two Mommies' agenda pushing nonsense. Is keeping sexualization out of kid's programming too much to ask?...

.... and lots and lots of tape. Got my copy fro N-Y today as well; 10 days total transit time via SAL. Checked everything out and no missing parts or defects; the only thing I had to address was a loose (pulls out too easily) right hip ball socket cylinder-- just added a bit of nail polish and it's good to go.

I refer to that backpack flap as a Thrust Deflection Plate...
