Bandai failing to get my moolah...
-
The Inbit Scout is such a tiny mecha "in real life" that 1/48 would be better than 1/55, for no other reason than it would be slightly less fiddly and fragile, and it would look better next to even 1/55 scaled opponents. So, my vote goes to 1/48.

^ So, Eaglemoss is entirely accurate on their release of the Akira Class U.S.S. Thunderchild, insofar as the inclusion of the name anywhere on the ship's hull is concerned. The ship model didn't have a name on it in its appearance in First Contact. It's also good to know that this oversight from the studio can be remedied on the XL piece with an aftermarket decal from a fan to fans. I does look gorgeous; then again, this is the most photogenic design of any non-hero ship in Star Trek.

My AJ order was split in two and I just got my shipping notice for the second batch, the DX VF-1A Max, this morning... should have all of it in my grubby hands by Saturday. Unless some other must-have gets announced, with the exception of the Riobot VF-041H Blowsperior slated for November, I think I'm done for the year, which makes my wallet sigh in relief.

The first Godzilla movie was a far superior one, that I thoroughly enjoyed; after finishing GtKoM I was left with the biggest "meh" feeling due to its -- purely my own personal opinion -- formulaic sequel-itis mediocrity.

Evolution Toy - VF-2SS Valkyrie I 《MACROSS II ~LOVERS AGAIN~

Almost, but not quite at 69% and 65% off respectively. Now, once they tank to the 80+% off range, I may just go for it. -

Now, why would you want to bury your pet moth in puke? That's just mean... poor thing. Sorry, I just couldn't resist taking advantage of that typo. -
Well, that wasn't so bad. Missing on the preoder for the DX VF-1A Max was a bummer, but I just placed an order with Amazon Japan without any drama or sleepless night, and I also took the opportunity to get the latest 3 Hachette 1/100 fighters to save on the overall shipping, which at about 2600 yen for DHL(?) is an exceptionally good -- nay, unbeatable insured and quick delivery -- deal for the whole lot. Now I can rest easy. Eat your 27500 yen for just the DX, before exorbitant shipping, heart out Nippon-Yasan.

^ Long sorrowful sigh... what could've been... I don't mean to disparage the F-22, it's an extremely capable and wonderful looking ASF in its own right... certainly far better looking than its YF-22 prototype; but just look at the sheer beauty that is the YF-23 and imagine what a refined F-23 would be like... -
THAT is a fantastic, simple fix, and makes a world of difference to its ability to display with same-scale figures. I'm definitely going to give it a try.

I too was extremely disappointed with 2202, both from a story point of view and its execution; a real shame that they took what was almost universally regarded as the best season/story arc of the old series and turned it into a mostly incoherent mess that miserably failed to live up to the high bar set by 2199 -- it had some interesting concepts and good points, but not enough to offset the bad and the missed opportunities. 2205 could have a chance to reinvigorate the franchise and redeem the mediocrity of 2202; then again...

Yea, they have their thumbs up their asses on shipping these out. I'd be getting angry by now if I had paid for fast priority shipping, but since I was willing to wait, I'm willing to wait a little longer.

If only KC had make this figure adhere to Rick's body proportions at 1/12 scale, instead of Roy's, this would've been near perfect; as it is, it's too lanky.

This movie appears to have only a tenuous and tangential relationship to the its comic book namesake. From the two trailers released thus far, it comes across, to me, as a psychological character study of one man's descent into purposeful madness. As such, it stands alone, grounded and disconnected from the DCU, and gets the benefit of not only being its own thing, but very interesting to boot.

I don't have the Minmay as I didn't care for the outfit that KC chose. KC made Rick ~ 6.5" (16.5 cm) from foot sole to top of helmet when standing at attention; about the same with the hairpiece, for obvious reasons. With this size, at the claimed 1/12 scale, Rick Hunter, the little runt, would stand 78" (6.5 ft, 198.12 cm from head to toe... taller than Roy's 195 cm) instead of the 68.9", 5.74 ft, 175 cm called out in the bio. The toy should've been no taller than 5.75" (14.6 cm) at 1/12, so he is closer to 1/10.5 by height measurement alone. For comparison: Sentinel Stick is ~ 6.2" (15.75 cm), not in Ride Armor; so, boots collapsed. SH Figuarts Yuki Mori is ~ 5.8" (14.7 cm) Figma Motoko Kusanagi is ~ 5.5" (13.9 cm)

Got the KC Rick Hunter 1/12 figure delivered today. He stands quite a bit taller than Sentinel's 1/12 Mospeada figures when you place them next to each other. Overall, I'm pleasantly surprised with the quality and execution of the piece; while it is not on the same level of excellence of a Figma figure, it is quite good is its own right and a fantastic rendition of the character; likely the best we will ever see at this size. Comes with a handgun and rifle, but the outstanding accessory is definitely the helmet. Now I can't wait for Lisa Hayes and any future releases, as I'm all in... Roy, Max, Miriya, and Minmay in Chinese dress at the very least.
