I just found this thread after my curiosity prompted me to look into what Mr. Moscato was up to. This thing is looking fantastic, making me proud to have played a small part in its development. Fantastic work as always Cap'n; although, I must say, I could have saved you a bit of trepidation and time on that access hatch by modeling it into the upper hull, either with the full opening removed, or as a score line on the inside (maybe 2+ mm deep X .5 mm wide) to facilitate cutting and negate the need to measure and hope, but I know all too well that that kind of foresight requires a lot of pre-planing and certainty to execute well, specially when one is designing on the fly. I'll keep following your progress to witness the final result. Cheers!

If that is the case, then it would scale fairly well with the upcoming Sentinel "Alpha" fighter... I'm in, if it's reasonably priced and doesn't turn out to be either vaporware or an utter piece of poop.

Unfortunately with Eaglemoss, their message is loud and clear: If you want scale consistency, build a model kit. It would be no big deal for them to keep similar sized craft in scale to each other; but alas, their shtick is box scale, and they are fairly inconsistent at that too. -

Hellboy fans wanted a continuation/resolution to Giullermo Del Toro's version, preferably with the same cast... the final act of a trilogy. But no, in their infinite wisdom they decided to heck with that noise -- what do the fans know anyhow?.. Just give'em something and they'll eat it up -- and reboot the franchise. Is it any wonder this thing is tanking hard?

The thigh armor is definitely longer, and it appears that the inner frame of the abdomen may be a bit longer too... look at he belly plate's relationship to the chest armor.

If you pay in USD, at N-Y's inflated exchange rate, then yes you can use PP credit, which would buy you 6 months to pay, interest free as long as you pay the minimim every month and the entire amount before the grace period runs out, for any amount totaling over $99.00.

I got the availability email from N-Y, so I clicked on the link. I looked at the price, laughed heartily, and closed the browser tab. For that price, they can sit on it for all I care; I'll wait and see if AE lists it, or if CDJ or some other reputable vendor reopens POs. What a farce N-Y has been with this thing; first a ticket system that finally lets you win after the item you wish to secure is already sold out, then they conveniently "find" extra supply and add over 10K Yen to their initial price... sheesh!

Woke up at 4 am for this and went though pages of shock and disappointment from the majority of folks here. This is a bit depressing, but I though "what the heck, give it a shot".................. ...................... ................................................. My ticket ( what a crock or excrement) was up on N-Y and................... no VF-1A Max in their Macross page. AE still hasn't listed it either.

Well, I picked up my second copy, purchased with CDJ, at the post office today and I'm happy to report this one has no issues... at least not upon first inspection.

@jenius is absolutely right. Although I personally happen to think that both Toynami's recent figures and MEP's efforts are sub par in design and execution, and fall rather flat in the "likeness to character" department, they are leagues beyond the old Harmony Gold/Mathbox abominations; to claim, even tangentially, that they are the same, similar, or not a significant improvement, in any way is pure hyperbole and entirely inaccurate. I get the dislike and dismissal, but lets be honest and give credit where credit is due even if we chose not to support the line(s).
