  1. Oops...didn't mean to be redundant...
  2. Don't know if this has been posted before, but in any event here it goes: Takara will be releasing a master grade Optimus Prime Toy they lable a masterpiece, and judging form the pictures at HLJ (CLICK HERE) they aren't kidding. I've never been a transformers fan, but I must admit this looks amaizing.
  3. Actually, the 1/60 CF is the least troublesome to addapt to accept the fast packs, since the only thing that needs to be done is to drill/cut slots on the backpack carapace to accept the booster mounts; it is not that difficult to do. I have done this on my single CF and the results were more than satisfactory. Once I get a hold of a digi-cam I'll post some pictures on the customs section of this site.
  4. For ground crew and support equipment, and even for a broader selection of ordnance, you could try Hasegawa's line of 1/48 scale accessory kits (for the 1/48 Valks obviously), if you're willing to paint them yourself. For the 1/60 stuff you can use any 35mm gaming miniature to flesh out a diorama since they are 1/60 scale. Heck, you can even get Armorcast's Timberwolf, Vulture, and Atlas resin kits as well as a flatbed support truck of some kind and tanks (a bit pricey, but nice). Here is Armorcast's link: Armorcast Battletech Models And the Hasegawa stuff at HLJ: Hasegawa Air Accessories
  5. 1/60 wouldn't be too bad, but to really do it justice I gotta go with 1/48.
  6. GBP armor, VF-4, VF-0s, SV-51s, VF-2SS, etc., etc., etc....Heck, if Yamato makes it, I'll seriously consider buying it, so long as they don't keep on regurgitating the same old DYRL stuff; face it, it's getting old.
  7. I voted for M+; however, if given a choice I'd say ALL THE ABOVE...bring'em on baby! How could I have forgotten M2? I'd kill for a VF-2SS with removable SAP in 1/48, and the VF-2J isn't too shabby either. B)
  8. Yes, it is nice. But I prefer the close-up version.
  9. Yamato has already improved the 1/60 quite a bit since they first released the VF-1A Hikaru. Their last releases even had colapsible handled Gunpods. I would much reather they release a series of fast pack upgrade kits to the various VF-1s than to re-release the entire line with all the latest improvements. My wish list for un upgrade kit would be as follows: 1. inner left and right arm halves to discard the need for that filler piece that was included with all the early VF-1s (VF-1A Hikaru, VF-1A Max, VF-1S and Strike, VF-1A CF, VF-1J Hikaru) 2. outer left and right arm halves to match above's armor slots (VF-1A Hikaru, VF-1A Max, VF-1S, VF-1J) 3. colapsible Gunpod (VF-1A Hikaru, VF-1A Max, VF-1S and Strike, VF-1A CF, VF-1J) 4. backpack outer carapace with the booster mounting slots (VF-1A Hikaru, VF-1A Max, VF-1S, VF-1A CF) 5. left and right air-intake/thy pieces to eliminate the gap in the early Valks. (VF-1A Hikaru, VF-1A Max, VF-1S) 6. left and right lower legs with pre-drilled fast pack slots (VF-1A Hikaru, VF-1A Max, VF-1S) 7. just in case I forgot anything. All above upgrades should be available as model specific packages since not all Valkaries require the same amount of redress parts. Just my 2 cents
  10. Man can those babies bounce... Cool avatar Ladic.
  11. I've had the same idea, but have not yet tried it. Replacing the AMMs with AMRAMs or other types of contemporary ordenance should be very easy since all you have to do is drill holes in the new missiles or bombs to match the pegs on the AMMs' pilons, and bingo...instant custom.
  12. Sweet! Any inkling on an idea of how much each 1/60 sheet will cost?
  13. I too was so impressed with my new Low Vis that I started a post on it. Congratulations on your purchase, and my condolences to your bank account.
  14. Welcome aboard. I'm a recent inductee into the 1/48 cult myself (VF-1A Low Vis) and must agree that this thing blows everything else way out of the water. Now that Yamato has you hook, line and sinker be prepared to eat nothing but canned beens for the foreseable future.
  15. Here is an item I haven't seen anyone inquire about: How about the possibility of getting sticker sheets for the various Valkyries (1/48 and 1/60)? Having extra sheets of official Yamato stickers could be very handy, and I know I'd be interested in getting a few 1/60s and one 1/48 at this time.
  16. Hey, if Yamato releases a ver. 2.0 of Roy's VF-1S with all the current upgrades present in the Low Vis then I'm definitely getting one.
  17. Took the words right out of my mouth...the 1S Hikaru would be nice and all, but the 1J is a must...and I'm keeping my 1/60s
  18. By all means keep them. After all, what will you display next to the Q-Rau, Monster, and all the other goodies Yamato may yet release in the 1/60 line. I know that next to the 1/48 they look like yesterday's news, but they are way better than anything else out there short of their big brothers. Also, there is Toynami's 1/55 line of Mospeada/Alpha and possibly Tread/Beta MPCs to look forwart to, and since the two scales are within a reasonable margin of error of each other they would make perfect display partners.
  19. you can try HLJ or maybe a local hobby store. I need specifics . Are the ground crew's scale 1/48 just like the valks or 1/55 or 1/72? Do these need to be painted? HLJ???? what do i look under? just go to the advance search menu, and where it says scale, type in 1/48, then see what they got. i tried it a while ago, and didn't see much, other than kits, but little in the way of ground crews... heres a link to a hase ground crew kit in 1/48.... Hasegawa ground crew on HLJ That reminds me that I've been thinking about creating a weapons set for my new baby; however, Hasegawa also makes 1/48 scaled wapons set along with other accessories that could be converted to fit the VF-1 series without much trouble...I gotta give that some thought. Here's a link: HLJ X Series (Aircraft Access.)
  20. Thanks everyone for all the replies. It's good to know that I have plenty of company in my new-found affliction. B)
  21. Oh boy...more money down the Yamato tube. Won't the money hemorage ever end? Please tell me it won't.
  22. I got the Low Vis Valkyrie, not the 1S; and as far as I can tell, the skull emblems are dead straight on the stabilizers, no zits on the 1A head, and the forward fuselage seam is near unnoticeable with the weels down, but the flying kite emblem on the wing looks a bit shitty compared with the 1/60s...nothing is ever perfect. Damn! I managed to avoid alcoholism, drug addiction, gambling addiction, laziness, etc., only to succumb to Obsessive Mecha Toys Collecting Syndrome! I guess everyone needs a vice.
  23. 1 1/72 VF-19A 1 1/72 VF-11 1 1/72 VF-21 10 1/60 VF-1s [1 HIKARU 1A, 1 CF, 1 ROY 1S, 2 MAX 1As (one for a KAKIZAKI custom...one day), 1 VF-1D, 1 HIKARU 1J, 1 MAX 1J, 1 MILLIA 1J, and 1 STRIKE 1S) 1 1/48 LOW VIS
  24. Thank for the link. The advices will come in handy once I decide to transform the thing. Right now I'm just sort of awed by the way it looks in fignter mode. I've read elsewhere that the FV-1J's release is slated for November, Is this confirmed? Anyone with Yamato connections (cough...Graham...cough) please tell those guys to do pannel lining vis a vis Low Vis on the FV-1J Hikaru...now that would be uber sweet.
