I've tried oven cleaner (Easy Off brand) on a model car body (polystyrene) to completely remove all traces of a previously cured coat of paint. I placed the part on a sheet of plastic wrap and sprayed the cleaner all over the kit making sure to cover it completely in a thick foamy coat (make sure you have plenty of ventilation as even the "no fumes" variety of Easy Off sticks to high heaven), then used the plastic to wrap the part to prevent the cleaner from drying off and let it sit for about an hour or so; the next thing was to use a old soft-bristle tooth brush to scrub the kit under warm running water. The results were amazing: not only was 99.9% of the paint removed, but there was no sign whatsoever that the oven cleaner attacked the styrene... had I used paint thinner the car body would have crumbled in my hands. A bit of a disclaimer, however; I have no clue how the stuff interacts with ABS, but on styrene/polystyrene oven cleaner is a no-brainer. It has no detrimental effect on the integrity of the plastic, does not destroy small details, and will not alter the pre-existing surface finish.

I'd be interested only if the standing figure were made available on its own for a reasonable price... I don't have the Regult so a seated figure would be a waste.
-
Put me down as interested as well, specially if you can recast these in LV grey too.

Life imitates South Park. Seriously. Here's a movie that hardly anyone outside San Francisco, LA, NYC, or France will spend good money to see, and the usual suspects are already engaged in a self adulatory cluster f**k heaping praise on this thing...and "Hollyweird" wonders why movie ticket sales are weak, with only a few notable gems once in a while, when they try to peddle such drek (Siriana, Munich, etc.) on the public.

"classic" Movies That You Piss On
mechaninac replied to Agent ONE's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Any and all musicals, from the inception of talkies to the present...just insert your title here and I guarantee it I'll barf all over it. I just can't stand musicals; they suck more than anything that has ever sucked in the past, anything that sucks presently, or anything that will ever suck in the future. A story is built up, drama is established, or humor, or suspense, whatever...and then the actors break into a song and dance number that completely spoils whatever mood had been established...ugh, don't get me started. -
Better Off Dead -- "This mountain is pure snow! Do you realize the street value of this stuff? Trading Places -- "It was the Dukes, it was the Dukes..." Big Trouble In Little China -- "You'll come out no more!" "What!...What will come out no more?!!!" They Live -- 'THIS IS YOUR GOD' (subliminal currency message).

What could you possibly mean?

All you'll need to remember from now on is the following: 1. What's hers is hers and what is yours is hers; 2. Never, ever leave the toilet seat up; 3. Even when you're right, you're wrong; 4. Forget about ever winning an argument again; 5. In the words of Fred Flintstone... "when you put a ring on a woman's finger it turns into a radar that reads man's minds" 6. All your answers should be limited to "yes dear", "no dear", and "I'm sorry". Anything more elaborate than that is asking for trouble. Enjoy, and congratulations.

that comment makes me think i miss the toys of yesteryear they were designed to last then 351788 The reason the Toynamis tend to break, specially the Alphas, has less to do with design/engineering, though they are definitely over designed and under engineered, but more due to the piss poor quality of the plastics used and the asinine choices of what parts to make out of die cast.

Unfortunately, you're right; a shame isn't it? 350675 Guess who's holding the rights... 350836 Ooh, ooh, I know this one...Microsoft? No, wait...Haliburton? It has to be Sony, right? Never mind...

It's got Arnold, but does this DVD set have enough Southern Cross? 350765 The producers told me that would be included in the Special Edition, as well as comments by Lucas. 350767 I'm bot gonna buy that one though, 'cuz the doorknob shot first. 350784 But that is the boxed set that will include "Biceps and Doorknobs: A Retrospective" featurette. That alone would make the SE a must buy.

It's been 20 years since I've seen a full episode, but I'm trying to remember what was communist about it... as for the Smurfs and Captain Planet... 350769 Read "The Rainbow Fish". Same type of lame, anti-individualist bilge.

Wasn't this "children's" (this and that other psychodelic mess with the kid and his magic flute) show extremely popular with the Ivy league college student set back in the late '70s? I guess the program got progressively more entertaining in direct proportion to the amount of Pot they smoked back then.

That would translate into no earlier than 2nd quarter of 07, in Toynamise.

I wasn't putting down Hackman's Luthor, or his ability to play the "heavy", but his characterization was rather tongue in cheek... more like an inspired, mischievous sociopath than an evil, calculating, megalomaniacal genius, specially starting with the second movie. Having Fat boy and Bimbo as sidekicks to Hackman's somewhat flippant real-estate-tycoon-wanna-be Luthor didn't really help to establish the character as Super Man's greatest foe either, IMO. I'll readily agree that we don't know what Spacy's take of Lex will be, and one screenshot is hardly enough to make an educated comparison; for all we know, Spacy could play him just like Hackman did (for continuity's sake), but the overwhelming first impression seems otherwise... foolish? maybe, but it's amazing how, more often then not, first impressions are correct. We'll find out in due time.

You do realise that the 1/60 VF-0S is actually larger than a 1/48 don't you? 1/48 VF-1 = 30cm in fighter mode 1/60 VF-0 = 32cm in fighter mode The VF-0 is a big bird, far larger than the VF-1. Graham 346137 No, I did not know that. Thanks Graham, I may have to reconsider. I thought the VF-0 was the same size as a VF-1S. 346325 Yeah, the sizes are deceiving if you're not used to think in terms of relative scales. To put the relative sizes in a real world context, the VF-0 is about the size of a F-14 Tomcat or F-15 Eagle, while the VF-1 is more akin to a F-16 Falcon or AV-8B Harrier II in size...the Zero is a much bigger bird than the VF-1. And to really blow your mind, a SV-51 would be bigger than a SU-27 Flanker... that's gargantuan.

Only thing is that Spacey looks a lot more serious/pensive than Hackman ever did in that role...that's a good thing.

I thought that the remainder of the current season was supposed to return next January, thereby concluding the last episode's cliff hanger... same goes for SG1 and Atlantis.

I can't believe this thread has been resurrected... I haven't done much with any of these models...work, life, the usual interruptions, in conjunction with getting tired of them for awhile have conspired to put them all in the back burner for the last few months. I'll eventually continue working on them once I get inspired again. Here are some renders of the current status of the NIKICK:
