no, no, no. I know it is a re-design of the Mospeada Inbit Gosu (Robotech: New Generation Invid Royal Command Battloid). I want to know who re-designed it, and why, and anything else...

Nope, wish I did. I guess no one here has an answer?

How about NO kanji/symbols at all. Let your car speak for itself. A nice car is meant to be looked at, not read. I like fixed up cars as much as the next guy. Even though I am a muscle car man, I appreciate a nice modded ricer...but never to this day have a seen a car that looked better/cooler/faster because of the symbols displayed on it.
-
You're going to put a sticker on your car that says "car?" Are you so eager for a ideographic character? How about something that says something about your car, or your car's personality? It's like getting a tatoo in Kanji that says "man," or something. Your poor car will be embarrased. Unless you drive the most generic car in exsistance, in which case I guess it would be pretty appropriate.

Ouch! That is ugly armor. I don't mind the colors at all, but the design... Eva's look so graceful, this transforms it into...well something far from graceful. Looks like it has poor posture too. If they release a weapons set I will pick that up however.

Have had this on my HD for quite awhile, and have seen it on a few web-sites since then. Does anyone know who did it? Where is it originally from? Is there more to it? Just curious. I rarely like fan-redesigns (as I am assuming this is), but this beats the original Gosu right out. Thanks for any light you can shed. BTW- The "illustrated by" characters are confusing also. The first two don't look like Kanji to me (which I can't read anyway), but they don't fit for any of the Kana I know either.

Something interesting from SEGA
Phyrox replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
How is this interesting? Sega will show us what games they will be releasing for consoles and on arcades... can't say that was unexpected. -
hmm, does the new book have any of the pod-racers? I have been looking for something with ACCURATE info on them, but haven't really found anything. Some of the episode one books had stuff, but sizes and descriptions were off, so I avoided them. Even the SW web-page has not-accurate-to-footage dimensions. I hope this has 'em. On a side note, any of the other books have anything worthwhile on podracers? Seems odd that they were the center of the first movie's only really good action scene...but get so little press. ed-for spelling

While I don't like the idea of FPS, I will wait to see what this game ends up like. The article says "late 2004." With that much time until it is released, I pretty sure these are early build shots. Why they would go with FPS is a mystery to me. I also think a GTA3-type engine would work nicely. Oh well, I guess I'll have to get my Invid fix this way...(I am sooo crossing my fingers for playable multiplayer invid) -
How about some higher resolution? Most of those are far too grainy to use as wallpaper.

I think we are all forgetting that the "Refles" (or whatever) can convert herself and all here Inbit into a giant energy beam. With that in mind, I give the edge to the Inbit...not matter the time period. Besides that, I don't know who would win...but I'd like to see the fight.

Well, I saw parts of it a while ago...and have stayed away from it since then. Some of the mech designs, and some of the action is OK...but I couldn't get into the rest. Didn't seem like a geopolitical thriller to me, seemed like a yawner. I'm just fine with story/character driven anime, but this had nothing I liked.

I have seen resin with incredible detail, but that is because they put the effort in, not because it is a better medium. For similar cash you could get an injection kit that would be just as impressive. It really comes down to methods, not quality. Either form can be of high quality. It is the ease of plastic I like. Maybe I am a goon, but I KNOW I would break/snap some important parts if I kit-bashed in resin.
-
I agree with everyone else here. Why would they do this? 1) It seems to run counter to everything the show taught me about EVA units. 2) It is really laughably ugly. The Antithesis of an EVA really. Horrible, horrible desicion. (and I'm usually pretty moderate in my condemnation of ventures such as this...)

I think even if there was a "perfect transformation" you would need to remove parts. Most notably the forearm pieces, but others as I well I am sure. The line art I saw looked to have some parts just "flying" from point A to B...
-
I don't know about that, give me an injection kit anyday! Plastic is far easier to modify in my experiance. I don't mind resin, but I prefer plastic. I do a lot of kit bashing though, so that might play a role in my decision. It's far easier to cut up and manipulate, at least in my experiance.

My understanding is that the whole lower-leg/boot "expands." The boot being made up of several individual armored components. In transformation they seperate and create a larger leg, from which it appears 50% more "foot" is extended. Now after looking at the Legioss-Tread mating, I can't see how that is done without a great deal of anime magic. At least not how it is drawn. And what is the Tread connected to that doesn't rotate so as to allow the Legioss to transform while attached? I don't think I buy it. Additionally, the Legioss's arms will be a problem. Either you are forced to have to Treads "chest bulges" way too far appart to make room for the arms...or the Legioss sits way out in front, not looking like a single unit at all. All that said, I love the Legioss and the Tread...but after having looked at some line art, I don't know if the mating works. Feel free to prove me wrong with nice, big, high quality scans from your Artmic or other such references. shoot, I got beat to the punch!

Bah...nevermind the Mospeada/Cyclone MPCs. Those will be fine as superposables. Now lets see them get to work on my Tread/Beta. Or some SP Inbit/Invid...ya, that's the stuff. Cyclones, I really have no love for. Guess I've never been a fan of motorcycles. -on a side note, I did manage to get an extra alpha morher. And if you truncate the arms and legs, and remove the "pull-back" engine (and don't care about transforming, because glue is involved), it looks MUCH better in fighter mode.
-
Any idea how "perfect transformation" this will be. Don't get me wrong, I'm not really a stickler for that kind of thing. I just wonder about the wings in Battloid/Armo-Soldier. Always seemed to me like a good deal of anime-magic went into making them lay flush with the back. As long as it looks good in both modes I don't really care... I guess if we could see a pic of it from the back that would help.

I kit made of resin. Imagine chunks of solid, rather brittle plastic. A very different animal than your injection or (god forbid) vacuform) kits. The advantages of resin are that it is easy and scheap to make/mold, so small "garage companies" use it normally. Which means some rare things can only be found in resin. For the same reasons, resin kits are often quite expensive for the buyer, and quality is not always great.

My EVA 02 doesn't have "two-tone" syndrome. Would be pissed if it did.
-
Man, I want that huge sniper/positron rifle for my EVA-02. I want it bad. But I don't think I am going to pay for the EVA-01 to get it. Is it much larger/smaller than the Kaiyodo one? I've got that one laying around somewhere, maybe it will work with the SOCs...

Anyone know a cheap place to get an MPC? -I am not the biggest fan of the VF-1 -I don't own any besides the Hasegawas I am kitbashing -I think the MPC sculpt leaves much to be desired -That said, I think I will want a VF-1 in the same scale as the upcomming Alpha/Legios -The Bandai is without doubt the ugliest large-scale VF-1, so that is right out. Maybe it's because I come from the model, and not the toy background, but scale is very important. So I guess I will need to pick up a VF-1 (for the Robotech nostalgia of having my VF-1 and Alpha in the same "universe"/scale).

Ya, I'm no Japanese expert, but I am taking some lessons, and the Katakana says: 5th SOG "San-daa-ha-maa-su" Sunda hamas thunder hammers Which is why I have such a hard time with Katakana...
