  1. All I can say is that if this is the absolute worst thing that has ever happened to you, you have led a very charmed life. Very.
  2. uh, at least 12/19 of those aren't even space battles... this isn't just a "favorite fight thread," that would be a bit too broad.
  3. just use simple algebra, its easier. you already said "42 feet divided by 55 parts is .76 feet (9 inches.)" so just do the opposite to figue out the superposable (or anything else) scale. 42 feet divided by ___ parts is .58 feet (7 inches.) so... 42/x = .58 42 = .58x x = 42/.58 x = 72.4 so ya, it's about 1/72. with simple algrebra you never need to reference anything but the "original" size and the scaled size.
  4. No, while I love Melee for it's Event Challenges I ahd mroe fun with the N64 version. That's my sister's prefered platform to play when she comes over. We killed the stats in the game for Kirby, Pikachu and Link. They are all 9999999999 in total damage taken and done (not that we don't use other characters). oooh, that damn Pikachu!! hate that electric rat. Me and my roommates used to use Kirby (me) Pikachu and Donkey Kong, it ended up being a "rock-paper-scissors" deal, with Kirby usually killing DK, who in turn whooped on Pika, who was in turn my biggest threat. Fun times...fun times.
  5. - The Battle over the 2nd Death Star - Macross Plus (OVA) openning scene - DYRL openning scene honorable mention: - I hate to include something non-visualizrd, but the brief descriptions of space combat in the Aliens Technical Manual - The Gall Force 1-3 space battles (mostly because I like the ships and weapons systems...not very dynamic fights)
  6. Are me and my friends the only ones who still prefer the Original Super Smash Bros. over the GameCube one? I don't think there is any competition myself. The jury is still out on the new MarioKart for me. I am not familiar enough with the new version to compare them properly...although I am inclined to chose the older one for now (where did my "hopping" go?!) LONG LIVE KIRBY!! Toad really is the best.
  7. I am actually starting to like this thing (i initially voted to scrap them both). My only current reservations: The forward engine nacelles (if that is what they are): maybe it is just the texture, but they don't look right to me. too pointy maybe...I dunno. just not "right" The asymetric open bay: normally I am a fan of asymetry, but this design is too sleek for it. what is that bay/hatch for, and does it exist on both sides? The huge caliber of the weapons: they just seem too mechwarrior-ishly large. why so big? the trick in space i image would be to hit something moving so fast, and for that I would want RoF, not large rounds. plus, i would imagine that with the incredible destructive force unleashed when a projectile of such speed impacts a ship (pressurized or not) would make a large round rather superfluous. i could be wrong, being that we don't have a lot of evidence either way. All that said, I should repeat, I am really liking where this is going...just wanted to add some constructive comments.
  8. I don't really care to know. I don't care where the mods come from. All I care is that they do a good job, which these ones really do. But when a long-time member posts a simple question, usually he/she should expect it to get answered after around a half a page of nonsensical jokes...I was just reacting to my suprise that this thread got so much attention, but no one took the questions seriously, and that seems uncharacteristic for such a good board as this.
  9. http://www.mahq.net/mecha/macross/dynamite7/index.htm Never heard of a VBA-6, but this lists all the valks I know about from Dynamite.
  10. Cast in the name of mod, ye not guilty. eh?
  11. Another fan saved!
  12. so, is anyone actually going to try to answer his question? not like all this joking isn't hilarious, but...
  13. If it's too big to play with or display in your room, but does'n't actually work, what fun is it?
  14. I think three links have been posted, but people still seem to be referring to these critters as spiders. They are in the arachnid class, but are not spiders (just as ticks, scorpions and whip-scorpions are not spiders). Secondly, they have no venon...so if one did decide to gnaw on a private's ear, he would probably wake up. That is all. Just some clarification.
  15. This set of pics is a parody on various Gundam MS/ MA models. The various poses that Osaka is in mimics the overall look of the MS/ MA. You have to be fairly familiar with the mecha in order to appreciate the humour -- maybe I'll put up a bunch of comparison pics later tonight.. provided I can get the proper resource. KingNor - even if you were familiar with the original gundam designs being spoofed, it isn't very funny or amusing, so don't worry. I still "don't get it."
  16. Yeah, you need to buy a figure seperatly to use the with the visor sets. weak-sauce! Oh well. I might get it anyway. I have to say, when first seeing these figs I was unenthusiastic...mostly because of the inclusion of "extreme" hoverboards. But the old-school '80s mecha look of the "visor" figs has me interested. I really want to see what some of the future releases will look like.
  17. Does the "Board Visor" come with the figure, or do you have to buy one seperate (which would be lame)? The larger "visor"-modes are the only ones I will be considering.
  18. Whoohoo! At least we know he is "back" even if he isn't actively working on this project. Anybody know what this "Andromeda" is, and how we can get it canceled?
  19. Those look way too over the top for me. I like the more classic look. Superman should look like a regular, built man...not likwith muscles and veins popping out everywhere. So, I had to vote neither.
  20. If you insist that the damage is due to heat, why would it be a death ray for bird-sized animals? Their skin is nearly as effective at temperature dispersion as human skin, and that article didn't indicate, nor do believe that temperatures on "heat spots" get so high as to cause outright lethal damage. I never said radar's were not dangerous if you sat in front of one all day, but I still don't think you've made a good case for a bird perched in front of one to have been "cooked," as you said. I suppose you were using hyperbole...

I have few questions... 1. Who is Rohby 2. How do I contact him 3. How much is it 4. any pictures? Thank you. Use the board utilities to: a) find him b) ask him hint: the "members" button is where I would start
  22. Because there were enough impressive live action sets to balance it out.
  23. We knew your name was Veronica...how?
  24. Nothing new there...I didn't see anything about a threat of being cooked. Sure, it could be hazardous to your health (or that of a bird), but nothing indicating the level of energy absorbtion required to heat anything...or even kill it outright.
  25. the radar must been far away enough cuz wouldnt it cook the bird? I may be showing my ignorance of modern high powered radars...but since when have radio haves been dangerous enough to cook anything?
