no one can survive V'ger...or that tortuously long and boring scene? edit - or is that supposed to be the edge of the galaxy?

looks like a torino and a mach 1 had a child...

I disagree, I have never read the books (heard that they are pretty good), and might think of picking them up after having seen the movie. I enjoyed the film. I didn't love it, but I had a good time, and appreciated the humor. Realizing that the books would be to the film what all books are to their film adaptions...I am more likely now to pick them up than before.

I really like it, but why the open airbreak? That sorta ruins it for me...although nearly everything else I like.

Have you seen these F-22 Raptor prototype pics?

Aren't these pics several years old by now? -
Mike RB posted all that stuff on these boards (or was it on the old boards...?). It is great stuff, but judging by his absence both in that thread, and here, I would say the project is on permanent hiatus. Too bad, I don't care for cyclones that much, but I liked his invid a lot.

It's here...Shadow Chronicles screenshot!

Holy crap, you're right! THEY'RE BOTH ANIME CHARACTERS. With similar character designs... Look at the eyes, the chin, the ears, the hair, the nose... their isn't much similarity there, except that they both have angular facial structures. I don't see it. -
Well, 4 OVA eps. at 35 minutes cannot fit into one 115 minute movie. They cut some stuff out, but they also added/replaced a scene or two. The story is the same though. I thought that the OVAs only came out dubbed, while the movie only came out subbed (I am referring to American releases here). So if my memory serves correctly, things should have sounded pretty different between versions, but not because it was redubbed.

How about something more severe? More perminant? Perhaps I could eat your soul. You'd eat that? -
I've heard good things about the 350Z, but I've never been behind the wheel. I do think it is ugly though. I actually like its corporate twin the G35 coupe more...although the front of the infiniti is damn ugly too.

Invader Zim (region-1) collector's box and stuff
Phyrox replied to treatment's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Have you watched the special features disc? I like the house and all that, but if I will only buy it if the disc is any good. How comprehensible are the uncompleted episodes? What else on there is worthwhile (I am not too interested in soundtrack behind-the-scenes stuff)? W You can get the box with just the extra disc, or the box with the previously released 3 discs and the extra one. This way, Zim fans weren't "punished" for not being able to wait to get the DVDs. -
that thing is going to scream. When I was looking for my early 2nd gen (had to be '70-'73), I was hoping for a '72 actually. I wanted a 455 (displacement = torque), and the '71s were too rare... ended up that I found a '70 within driving distance that didn't need much shop-time to turn it into a daily driver, and my dad was getting a bit tired of me still "borrowing" his weekend car after 2 1/2 months. How did you hook up the supercharger with the existing shaker assembly?
-
Wouldn't that be 2.24 meter's in length? I think he was talking about the VC-33 being 3 inches long. " = inches ' = feet anyway, the conpendium lists 488m for the Deadalus, so it should be more like 2.44, not 2.24.

It's not the same shortcut...it's the same mold. The more I look at it, the more it looks exactly like my old Halcyon/Aoshima dropship kits. Seems to me like they are using the same sculpt. I was hoping for some extra detailing, and accurizing (not like the Halcyon ever seemed that "off" to me), but I guess it is just the same mold...but in metal and with no assembly required. Damn.

I'm not sure, but it looks to me like the intro animation to one of those Macross video games. edit - OK, I guess Tekkaman Blade beat me to it.

Our very own the white drew carey great stuff.

Is this serious? I try to be as civil as possible on this board, but this has to be one of the most asinine topics/questions I have seen in months. And that is saying quite a lot. edit - Ok, I guess after reading the nearly 1/2 dozen posts that appeared while I was typing this that I am to take it that this MGREXX is some sort of troll then? Now it all makes sense.

Isn't it a '68 charger in "Bullit"? The '68 has always been my favorite. And the '72-'73? Trans Am in "McQ" (suprise, suprise). And the Jaguar XK120 (or is it 140?) in "Play Misty For Me"

I don't know about that, but destroids would fare pretty poorly against comparably armed tanks. Where is a 30-40 foot robot going to get cover? See first, shoot first. I can't image them being used to any real affect until they fight huge giant aliens (and even then I would rather have a low profile tank...but that runs against "anime logic," so nevermind). edit - spelling

hmm, 5,000 is a hard number, but my dad got his '88 300Z Z31 for considerably less (2500-3500) a few years ago and it is fun to drive and easy on the eyes. That is my vote. I don't know what they go for these days, but I have always loved the VW Corrado. If they can be had with the nice 6 you could get in 'em for under 5000, then I would suggest that.

I don't see how anyone can hate MII...it is innocuous. It isn't great, but it isn't terrible. It's so-so. M7 on the other hand is really bad. It certainly has its defenders, but theirs is an uphill battle. The designs are poor, the story is anything but tight, it demands more suspension of disbelieve, and has some grating characters. I don't really like MII, but I can watch it. I can't say that about M7.

If I remember correctly, the correctest translation is actually "apostle," but Gainex specifically requested it be rendered as "angel." They are, tools of god, so Angel seems like a good name to me. It also fits the general pastiche of judeo-christian terminology/symbolism used to make the series seem exotic and deep (not that I don't enjoy it, but the religious veneer is fairly shallow) plus- they aren't really evil. They are just on a mission...one that has bad consequences for humanity.

yah, you gotta give him props for...well for something. certainly not that costume though.
