1. Wrong, but not COMPLETELY wrong. Nagano (the guy responsible for FFS), did some designs for Zeta Gundam. But he did not design the Zeta itself.
2. We have a newbie thread for this sorta stuff, USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION! And yeah, you are completely mixed up it seems. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=140
3. My respect for May, Taylor, and Van Halen demands that I erase what I just saw from my mind.
4. Hah, that's hilarious. 383045 Huh, I think one of the guys that worked there lives down the street from one of my friends. Oh well.
5. what an odd selection for release. I was hoping for some ZZ HGUC treatment...
6. Yeah, the Aoshima is right here. The gunner's canopy glass is the same on both sides and looks like this: 379936 Ya know what? I was rewatching Aliens tonight, and checked some of my reference photos, and it turns out that the gunners canopy glass IS asymetrical. So, the cutaway and orthographic dropships in the technical manual are correct for the port side. The Aoshima is the one in the wrong.
7. Sort of, apparently they were taking some sailor up on an incentive ride, and during some negative G he thought he should hold on to something. Unfortunetly the handle he held on to was yellow with black stripes. 382629 That story seems pretty implausible...
8. I believe the word you are looking for is attitude. Unless there is some inside joke I am missing.
9. Don't think this is gonna happen. Any series, movie, or whatever based on a sometimes cool, often mediocre toy line is never gonna be taken seriously. And I imagine never believed in to any degree.
10. I can't believe that anyone who actually likes cars and has some respect for real motor racing would willingly watch any of the "Fast and Furious" movies. I was forced to watch the first one, and that was quite enough for me.
11. The box has 1/72 right on it. If that isn't enough for you, the text beneath it displaying product info ALSO says 1/72...
12. No...see, we are all pretty familiar with all that, and while I don't get turned on by underage "anime-ish" girls, or gundam girls, I understand that they are popular. But even gundam girls are girls wearing mecha parts. This is girls with mecha parts...which is quite a different thing in my mind. Subtle difference maybe, but a large one nonetheless. This is just...well freaky and unsettling. I mean, you have to be strange to like your girls wearing mecha armor, you have to be certifiable to like your girls with hybrid aircraft legs.
13. This whole series sorta creeps me out. But whatever floats your boat i suppose.
14. This has been a most useful thread to be sure. But...still no ideas as to where to get a high quality scan of the cutaway from the inside of the book? I am going to try and make this something to put in my room/office, so the one with the huge page seam isn't going to work I'm afraid. Maybe if they come out with a second print run or something I can pick another one up and take it apart.
15. Anytime you want a hard to get book, you should always check abebooks.com and bookfinder.com They might not be as cheap as shopping around, but I have never not found what I am looking for. And sometimes you can get quite a deal. Some bookseller using abebooks listed all his Five Star Stories overstock by ISBN only, and I managed to get all 20-odd manga for about half price.
16. Hmm, that didn't really blow my mind. It is no secret that China has been working on a next generation fighter to include stealth and all that stuff. The first image looks a bit dodgy, but even if it's real all it is showing is an early prototype. Thanks for the images though, but not really mind-blowing like you promised.
17. Yeah, the Aoshima is right here. The gunner's canopy glass is the same on both sides and looks like this:
18. Then again, considering that the "Cheyenne" we all know and love from Aliens would be in service two centuries after its ancestor, would they really be obligated to add the "II" to its name? 379819 Good point. And Mr. March, let's see what else you have in this "extra material" eh?
19. Uh, well if he knew his helicopters it would be the Cheyenne II, so he probably just picked an indian tribe name that sounded cool and didn't know there had alrady been one. and a big thank you to Mr. March! That should be something to start with at least.
20. Hey , quick question: I got this book when it first came out, and was thinking of getting a second copy to take apart to make a scan/poster of the dropship cutaway...until I saw what kind of price it commands nowadays. So, does anyone know if there are any high quality scans of that cutaway anywhere? On another note, great little book. Some of the best space combat dynamics I've come across, in addition to all the other cool stuff. That's it, just a simple request.
21. Guess that wasn't you I saw then. I actually saw the guy twice, so figured it would be a hell of a coincidence...
22. No sir. With that ultra slammed body it looks like a joke. And I do so like the E-bodies usually. And that supra looks like a knock-off. Combine equal parts rx-8 and 350z, add a toyota badge and voila. edit - myk: what color and engine is your charger? I only saw one in my years in SD. White. No callouts, so I assumed 383 or similar...saw it around Golden Triange area a few times between '96 - '02
23. Far is I know he only has a Masters degree.
24. Mostly true, but remember that the more mass an object has, the more difficult it becomes to alter said objects velocity and trajectory. So, sticking a bunch of extra weapons on does have some deliterious effects. I think you are misusing the word. Gaudy means exceptionally showy, to the point of tastelessness. This might apply to the MII and Yukikaze stuff, but certainly not to the X-1. Plenty of negative adjectives could be used to describe the X-1's appearance, but gaudy isn't really one of them.
