  2. Devastator was the only one I ever had, and the only one I ever wanted.
  3. Who cares if some people here wouldn't support it? There are those who would, and would appreciate it, he'd be doing it for them. I've thought of doing this very thing with several of my art books (Gall Force, Macross, Gundam: Sentinal), but the translation is just too expensive to buy, and too time-consuming and exacting for a casual fan. If you find a willing translator, more power to you brother. Let the haters hate all they want.
  4. The Typhoon's a great plane, no doubt. But that's just not true.
  5. What I always like about UC-era mecha was the uniqueness of the different designs. This thing looks like everything else we've seen recently. Zeta is a great example. You've got the gundam, the palace athene, the O, the qubeley, the gaza, the rick dias...they might not all appeal to everyone (and therefor not sell as many kits/toys), but their diversity made them interesting. This unicorn looks to me like all the other wing/seed/etc. gundam mecha I've seen: just another look-alike gundam, but with a gimmick. Maybe I don't see what the fans see because I don't pay enough attention to the modern gundam mecha, but to me they've lost what made them interesting. I don't want them bringing that aesthetic into the UC world, at least not anymore than they already have.
  6. Don't even bother looking for 1/60. I can't imagine you'll find much in such an odd scale.
  7. It should be the other way around man. It's a toy, let the kid have the first one.
  8. double post
  9. Isn't that just the Yamato Toy? I don't think anyone made a 1/60 valk. model. Toys may adopt any old odd-ball scale, but modern models usually stick with the standards: 1/24, 1/32, 1/35, 1/48, 1/72, 1/100, 1/144, 1/200, 1/700, etc edit: forgot 1/35
  10. So, I never really got into collecting the 1/60 Vf-1s, and although I was around here at the time, I don't remember much about releases and availability and whatnot. Were the strike/super packs for the 1/60s only available on the vf-1s releases, or where they ever sold separately. If the later, where the hell can I find some. If the former I guess I am outta luck if I want some then. I posted earlier in the wanted section about this, but this post is more for informational purposes, and less a fishing expedition. Thanks for any help.
  11. No. No need for a movie. What most people (or so I gather) found wanting in Macross Zero wouldn't be fixed by a re-edit with a new scene here or there.
  12. I second Knight's caution, if not his attitude. This sounds like...not a great idea.
  13. Since these were designed by anime designers, they still count right? These are from the PS1 game "Panzer Front." Most fantasy tanks are either too outlandish or over-the-top for my tastes, but these I like.
  14. Hold on, 34 and never on a plane? Impossible. Although if I could have had my first airplane experiance in a trimotor, I would.
  15. wait, why am i being quoted in a sig? without context it makes no sense whatsoever, and if the context was provided it would be just a fairly straightforward observation with none of the wit or irony that people usually want in sigs. I'm confused.
  16. Well then...it isn't really a space helicopter is it?
  17. execution is great, great workmanship the concept and design however...are not so good
  18. He is saying that there ARE structural differences in the series and movie Q-raus, but that at the small scale you are talking about you might be able to hide them with clever use of paint.
  19. Yes, keep us informed. I know I would certainly be interested in Inbit/Invid and Inorganics...although I am not so hot on precious metals. Adds price for little/no return. I know being a jeweler and all...but if I want to modify and/or paint 'em, as I'm sure others would, them being silver is gonna be a proble.
  20. Whatever tiny visual details I miss out out on during my first viewing of a subtitled movie are small compared to the loss of emersion/authentic dialoge I'll get every time I watch a dubbed movie. It's a no-brainer for me.
  21. I used to play when I was in CA, but since I've been off in grad school and then out here to NC I haven't played much at all in the past several years. Didn't even bring my armies with me. I have a small deathwing force and a small tau force but my real love are my orks. Hardly ever win with them though since my army design is sorta kooky and shooty space marines chew me up badly.
  22. I think it was actually the result of a contest, where fans designed an Angel, and the art-department of the Eva series would produce a cell/quality artwork of the winning concept. This was the winner. Not a legitimate concept that didn't get animated.
  23. I've seen that one too, but it was of a considerably smaller B-29, it wasn't 1/5.
  24. Best part about the movie was that all the background cars seemed to be Chargers. Plus, it is kinda a fun rental.
