Thanks to everyone for giving their opinions on what I should do. There are so many pros and cons, but in the end, the 1/48's are quite spectacular. I have just about all the ones that I want in my collection.........except the VF-1D. That is the only one that I want because the 1/60 V2 looks so good, especially with the detachable cockpit. I think it's decided. I will keep my 1/48's and try to find either a VF-1D conversion kit or buy one already converted by a member. Anyone out there want to sell their conversion kit or have a decently priced 1/48 VF-1D they want to part with?

Hey! That's my girlfriend you're talking about.......................................................................I WISH!!!
-
Get rid of my toys? Yeah right! She likes them too, so she's a keeper. Yes, a low vis with the original head, and then I bought a S head kit a while back from one of the members here. It's got a blue visor and the paint matches the valk quite nicely. And that's the thing, I don't want to lose too much money on them if I decide to sell them, but I also don't think my wallet can take a new 1/60 collection from scratch without some money coming from somewhere.

Well, I have have a chance to hold a new 1/60 in my hands thanks to my cousin, and I like them very much. So I know what I would be getting. I have eight 1/48's with some nice accessories too. I of course have Roy with Strike fast packs, Hikaru VF-1J with fast packs and GBP armor, an original low vis with an S head and exclusive clear fast pack, and Max and Millia, a Cannon Fodder, the VF-1J Stealth with fast packs, and the 25th anniversary Black VF-1S. Like I said, I have a small place and even less now that my girlfriend has moved in, so I would like to have more with less space. It's such a tough decision!
-
The thing is that I don't really have anymore room for them. They take up a lot of space, and I don't mind trading them in for some 1/60's. I don't mind trading them in for a more complete macross collection on a smaller scale, especially if the 1/60's are more poseable.

Hey everyone, it's been a while since I've been on the boards. Finally got a chance to get back into Macross, and I'm so tempted to get the new 1/60's version 2.0. The only problem is no money! I have a some 1/48's that I love, but after seeing the new 1/60's I'm thinking of selling all my 1/48's to have money for the 1/60's. The only problem is trying not to lose so much money selling these off. I mean, I shouldn't have too big of a problem seeing that I've transformed each one like twice. They've only been on display and aren't even stickered. Plus, the 1/60's are coming out with so many variations, I'm drooling! I know that they probably won't make anymore valks in the 1/48 scheme anyway. What would you guys do?

For me, it's Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. She's just so hot for a cyborg. She's strong, sexy, and human. And her looks aren't so bad either. I like a woman in charge.

I'm a graphic designer by trade, but have strayed away from that for now because of low pay, and much competition here in California. I used to design T shirts at a company that had licenses from marvel, ninja turtles, movies, etc. The pay was just bad though. Any way, I am now in the aviation industry as a mechanic. What a change. This job was supposed to be temporary, but has been more lasting than I anticipated. I work on cessnas, pipers, MU2's, etc. I'd be more enthused if these planes transformed into robots though.

Could you please put me on the list for one Captain. Only if its not too late. Let me know please. Thanks.

Hey all. I haven't been on the boards for a while, but was wondering if you all could help me out. I have bought a few recasts from Rohby, and think that they are great. I have a few GI joes in my collection that I need to recast weapons for, but don't konw how to do it. Is there anyone that can give me a link, or point me in the right direction on how to get started and what I need? I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

NEW Official MPC Thread!!!
Skull Hunter replied to FRED THE FRENCH's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Hey there guys. I just wanted some opinions on buying a Scott Alpha. I've been holding out for quite some time hoping that these guys will go on sale for about half price because of the quality. Now the I look around, I can't hardly find one. I don't want to pay the full MSRP, but get it for a better deal. I've looked on ebay, and there are a very small handful available and some are even higher than the MSRP. So my question is should I hold out a little longer to get these guys at a deal, or should I try to get one now? What should I do? -
My deepest sympathy. I cannot imagine anything like that happening to my loved ones. I am glad that you are still here and commend you for being a man and coping with it and taking care of your daughter. Good luck with everything, and let the healing begin. God Speed.

Hey there guys. Haven't been on the site for a while. Just haven't had any internet access. Anyway, has anyone heard from Seichi San about the clear fast packs? I am asking because monkey nugget is sending his out, and wondered if Seichi was doing the same. I can't seem to find the topic in the forums, so some help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

Hey feel free to share your feelings - nobody likes it when they realize they paid more than they could have if they'd waited... but it happens to all of us, so don't let it get you down. Sometimes it works out in your favor to wait, sometimes it don't... I usually tell myself that if I didn't want the toy enough to pay full price for it when it came out, then I obviously don't want it more now that it's gone up in value. The tricky part is ignoring that little demon in your head that says, "buy everything! You want everything!" I'm sure that we all know that demon all too well. It's name is Yamato!
-
Do you mind if I ask you a question? Why do you care whether or not a toy is worth a bunch to collectors? I mean, if you want to buy something, hope it appreciates in value, then turn around and sell it - you should probably get into the stock market, not toys. If $150 seems like too much for bookends when they come out... why would you want them if they're $400 now? Now they're really overpriced. I don't get the intention that you are trying to buy toys to make money... I think that you just hate not having something that has appreciated in value... which is silly, really. Buy what you like, who cares if it goes up in value if you don't plan on selling it? I know it's easy to get some sort of a thrill out of buying a valk at $100, then seeing others pay twice or three times as much for it - but that's fleeting and it doesn't really make the toy on your shelf any better or worse because of it. It's just my opinion, but you'll be a lot happier in the long run if you don't care about all that crap. Your opinions do make some sense. I collect toys because I like them, and if they happen to increase in value than great, if not, than oh well. What I don't like is when you buy something, and paid full price for it, only to find out that it went down in price almost by half a short period later. I feel that I didn't get a good deal because I could've saved some money. The thing that makes me upset is that I wish that I knew this before hand so that I could wait, but of course that is not realistic. I have waited on certain items for the price to fall, only to find out that it is in demand and has actually gone up in price. I'm the type of person where it bums me out if I could've gotten a better deal on something, or if I miss out on something, that's all. So I'm just expressing my feelings on what I've experienced , and thought I could share it freely in this forum, and wondered if anyone else felt this way.

i doubt another low viz will be made. you could find them dirt cheap injapan. lest then 90 bcuks. no interest in japan == no product. I heard that they were hard to find anywhere. Even in Japan.
-
I love collecting Macross items, but I honestly can't afford everything that comes out. What I don't want to miss out on is things that are in demand and gain great value in a short period of time like the low vis. Now I regret not getting one in the beginning. It's just hard to determine whether something will be worth something or even decrease in value. Another example is the Robotech Bookends. When I first saw the price, I was like what a rip off! I mean $150 was pretty steep for some bookends, but then they started becoming rare and now go for as much as $400 in a matter of months. That's insane. I wish that we could know these things ahead of time.
