Hi peolesdru, nice videos! The only thing I missed is the "tailfin trick" to pull those extra milimeters so they look great on fighter mode. Regds, Manu

What's wrong with my Yamato, Bandai, etc.

Hi, when I first got Nora's SV-51 on hands, I felt very dissapointed with its floppiness. But there's an easy fix: a couple of screws that need to be tightened. A year and a half later, I didn't need to touch any single screw on this magnificent toy, and I'm still able to play with it! Guess the mass production suffers the same illness. You know, a screwdriver can be a yamato's best friend! Manu -

Hi everyone, it's been a while since I don't get into the forums, and it looks like overdrive service has been shut down. Yesterday I notice my 1/60 YF-19 has a partially broken shoulder. Has anyone had the same problem? Is there any way to get a replacement? Thanks in advance, Manu -
Mmm... is anyone making the dirty job this time? ^__^ You know, counting and all that...
-
Damn! so the answer is "you darn stupid manu, check carefully the thread for all those little things called 'characters', not focusing only on photos, because they might mean something!!" Bad news for me. Thanks!!!! Manu

Hi everyone, am I missing something or wasn't the double nuts supposed to get released in july? I thought the yf-19 repaints were postponed to a later date, but this date... was July. And it only has 8 days left... Can anyone drop a light here? Thanks! Edit: damn mispelling... :-P

Hehehe... this pic looks *almost* cool. Turn both birds upside down, and... bye-bye cool. kibblekibblekibblekibblekibblekibble!
-
Haven't seen it too... but I'd bet it's a kind of Magneto thing. "OK, I was a bad dude, but... just 'cos I got bored, I turned to the bright side..." beh.

Mmmmm.... a ridiculous amount of kibble... or a ridiculous amount of toy? I really thought <this> Jetfire was a huge amount of kibble, with a couple of plates on its back to resemble a blackbird... And then, I take a look at my 1/60 yf-21. Gosh, this Jetfire thing is really fugly!! His designer must have been on a hangover! Another Bay-movie-subproduct. What a difference in milking the cow: Yamato and M-Bay. The "original" Jetfire was much cooler. That's why I love Macross.

 Simply.... Wow. You said a car thread? Do we have that?? Here in MWF? Where? Manu

Why do I get this feeling... you know... Graham lol'ing like a maniac in background while reading our guesses? Yeah, THOSE evil lol's...

Don't know why, but I look at this images in a different way... -
Uff... In one word: FUGLY. Now Michael Bay has definitely raped my childhood. Damn it, Jetfire was my veryveryveryveryvery-favorite tf in the whole world! Now it looks movie-ish, and like and old man with a crane!! What is it supposed to use for attack? The mighty-stick-on-the-head hit? the mighty cough of the old? The Alzheimer laser? Bwaaaahhh!! Thank God we've got the froating'-head-kawamori-san...
-
If it weren't you (Mighty David Hingtgen), I would say you're nuts. But only because this aversion of mine to almost every toylike creation related to Michael Bay's transformers movies. Somehow, I am one of those guys stuck on the G1 show and the G1 characters (even though I consider the animated series a very good one), and... for me, Op will always be a mack truck, and devastator will always be... you know... GREEN. And unarticulated, and ugly... but green. This seems a nice engineered toy, but... but it's no devastator!! Michael Bay raped my childhood!!! Bwaaaa!!!

Let's hope this 3-yammie shipment decreases your yamato percentage (1 out of 15). By the way, does your sig mean this? (hehe... sorry, couldn't resist) Manu

Woah, thanks, Graham!!!! finally some real pics... can you please drop some thoughts about this bird? My concerns remain mainly on: - Tailfins - QC finish/touch&feel - floppyness in fighter - hips. They won't break, will they? Thanks!!! And congrats to your son, since he's inheriting 1/3 of the mythical "wall of Yamato". Manu PS: geez, never noticed how anti-aerodynamic these FAST packs were...
-
Hi Graham, thanks for the clarification!!! And, for the waiting... if the QC is going to be at the YF-21's point, I wouldn't mind to wait a couple of extra weeks to get a much sturdier pretty bird! I will check on Yahoo Japan every once in a while... fingers crossed!

Soooo.... today was the B-(vf-11B)day, wasn't it? still no new pics in ebay... G-man, are you allowed to drop some of the zillion pics you have on your (un-hacked-by-now) hard drive? Again, this wait is killing me...
-
Sometimes it's hard to say when G-man is talking serious. But if this is so, vf-11b is going to be better than I initially thought. This birdy is becoming better in every new picture we get, giving more credit to Graham's words. But, is it confirmed if it is going to include a display stand with it? And more important, Graham: have you tested its stability in GERWALK mode? I mean... well... ahem... can it hold some extra weight like, let's say the equivalent of a... for example, a yf-21?
-
Better late than never.... looking really great!! This low-vis needs some photoshopping with a carrier deck or sthg... Great!
-
Yeah, but it wouldn't matter because Klan's is the room next to mine...
-
Hahahaha!!! Good point!!! "Ranting, bitching and complaining: official Macrossworlder's sports!!!" "every single new Yammie or Macross-related stuff is subjected to all those sports by a huge crew of highly skilled people finding flaws where others only drool..." God, I love this place!!! And yes, I will also pick at least one!

After looking pictures closer, some thoughts: - The transformation process seems to remain (mostly) the same as in the 1/72. Only the arms placement in fighter mode seem to change (90 degrees rotated, so the long elbow part is facing down; this might help covering the back of the head a little more, since it doesen't look like there's that piece which holded the gunpod which also covered the head). - This provides justification for the hole on the upper side of the right forearm: placement for the shield's attachment peg. - Heatshield: looks like it splits in two: a front part, sliding into the front nosecone (you can siee a little orange behind the cockpit), and an upper part, which seems to slide... damn, I don't know where! Maybe you need to take out the cockpit or something... Have to think a little more about this. - Maybe... maybe you have a spring under the cockpit, you press it down, and the upper part of the heatshield gets revealed... Good work, Yamato! Edit: fixed some mistakes, and daltonism (red is not orange).

Wow, looking good. But, well, this is macrossworld, a funny place to rant against everything which is not 100% anime acurate and zero-dollar cost. So, back into the rant thing, even though it's obviously a huge improvement over my soooo-lovely-highly-twinked 1/72 vf-11b, I need to point out: - tailfins seem a little small - that "isometric" view of the fighter... it looks the new vf-11 suffers from the "yf-19 fat belly syndrome" - me wants gimmicks... the boosters? (not FAST packs, nor the VF-11c heavy armor, but the white rockets when isamu chases Guld on the first omega-1 demonstration...) - finally: it doesn't matter how much I turn my head when watching these pics, but 90% of the time it's like looking an oversized copy of the old 1/72. Other than that, damn, it's soooo kewl!!!  Me wants!!! :-)
