These guys are all heart. Watching the video alone already made me geek out, I can't imagine how happy they were when it actually flew.
-
My thoughts exactly. That's why I opted to ask around. Some of them are like a quarter of the actual price! Like this Arcadia GBP for $47.
-
Thanks no3ljm, jenius! As usual. Well, it was wishful thinking. Not that I support KOs but I'd rather play with a KO and keep the original safely tucked away, if you know what I mean. Like Transformers. *grin

Thanks no3ljm. Here are the links: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/ARCADIA-Robotech-Macross-1-60-MACROSS-ZERO-VF-0D-spot/32463442184.html http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Japanese-version-Bandai-HI-METAL-R-MACROSS-VF-1J-heavy-armor-edition-1-100/32465689358.html The fact that it's a Chinese site does not exactly help. lol

Has there been any Arcadia or Bandai knock-offs? I'm asking because I saw an ad with the Arcadia VF-0D for $70 and a Bandai Hi-Metal GBP-1 for $35. So it was either a KO or a scam.
-
Noted no3ljm, I'll do that moving forward. Yep I checked eBay too but still I wasn't sure if it's worth getting, especially since it's not complete. Thanks jenius!

Just a couple of questions please. 1. Are the FAST pack option parts compatible with either the (Arcadia) GBP figure or the version 1? Will I be able to put them on at all? 2. Is $40 ok to get the old brown Takatoku VF-1A? No gun, no box. Just the Valk. Found a guy selling his. Thanks in advance!
-
lol that somehow didn't sound right... hahaha Thanks guys!
-
It may be OT but is it worth getting the old brown Takatoku VF-1A? Like this one here from MW's toy catalogue. No gun, no box. Just the Valk. Somehow, I want it. Not sure if it's worth $40 though. Thanks!
-
Finally got mine! This feels so light compared to the old versions. Glad I bought it, even if it almost broke the bank. lol
-
Same for the missles, one or two would be yellowed, vice versa. Thanks spanner76, dapro! lol Thanks for explaining, no3ljm! I've already asked my supplier to sign me up for Arcadia's release, then that's it for me. After I get a Super/Strike pack set that is. hahaha
-
Thanks! I guess I'll opt to get the gun pod printed then. Would you know where I can get an image to reference the decals? Maybe I can get them printed on decal paper. Scratch that, I still have decals from the Hasegawa kits. So that's the only difference? Then I guess it is going to be worth it. Thanks no3ljm! Segue: I used to have a couple of grunt VF-1As a few years back, but had to sell them. From a collector's point of view, are Yamatos more valuable than Arcadia releases?
-
Finally got it: A number of parts are yellowed, stickers are peeling and the gunpod's tip is missing. And really dusty too. Nothing big I think. I think I'll either scratchbuild a gunpod or buy one off eBay. But how do I fix the yellowed parts? And does anyone sell decals like Reprolabels do for Transformer toys? Thanks!
-
I guess sunlight only works on decals then. lol $200 is already cheap for the GBP? http://www.arcadia.ac/products/detail.php?gid=212

Thanks all. And noted jenius. Good to know I'm getting a great deal. And thanks jvmacross, now I have to add the Protect Gear to my list. *sigh* lol Seems I also need to check Mandarake for these. I was hoping to stop with a v2 Super 1J but the GBP armor is very tempting. Also, the review mentions yellowing. The only way I know to remove yellowing is by exposing the part to sunlight. Anyway that can be fixed without hurting the rest of the colored parts? Like the insignia or stripe?
-
Thanks spanner76. I'm pretty careful with my stuff to so I hope this one is still in good, if not excellent, shape. I'm getting it for a little over $33. I suppose that is cheap enough?
-
Thanks no3ljm and jvmacross! Appreciate the input. Are version 1s prone to breakage? The parts I mean. EDIT: I noticed the review mentioned different version 1s. Is there a way to tell them apart like in version 2? And yes, I am definitely getting a version 2. *grin

Hello there. I'll be getting a pre-owned Yamato 1/60 VF-1A. My first non-model Valk. I believe it's a version 1. Is there anything I need to watch out for? Thanks!
-
From a collector's standpoint, i.e. price valuation, is there (still) a preference or difference between first issues and re-issues, considering Yamato is fond of re-issues?
-
homina homina homina...! Man, I wish I had skills like this! Thanks for sharing this!
-
Damn... This is SO amazing! Thanks for sharing this! You are a god!
-
Excuse me but can someone please explain the difference between these two? http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT00101 http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT00197 The first [linked] item is the version 2 1/60, is it not? If yes, then I'm definitely lost. They look the same and they're both priced at 9800 Yen. What's the difference please? EDIT: Oh and what's the Perfect Trance (Trans?) all about?
-
She probably gonna kick me out of the bedroom and not let me have any for the longest time until I die from it. Only because I told her I plan to get the 1/48, this (1/100), and a 1/60 ver2 from Yamato. Now I may even have to add the 1/60 kit from Yamato! Or maybe I'll just drop one of the Yammie's from my list. That plus the fact that I still have a lot of unbuilt kits at home. But she's pretty much very supportive of my hobby as long as I don't overdo it. I second regult. I can barely remember how the anime version looks like unless I watch episodes from The First again. Although I still think Kaiyodo's Revoltechs simply look sleeker (if not sexier); Yamato's and Hasegawa (and Wave?) gives me that realistic look and feel.

*Getting out of lurker mode... This seems too good to be a 1/100 kit. I mean, the details (for me at least) are nothing short of superb! I still have my 1/100 ARII and I dont even see half the details I see here. Now I have to save for both the Hase 1/48 and this! My wife is gonna so kill me! Is it just me though or does the Battroid look odd?

Long delayed "THANK YOU, PETE!" Sorry, got carried away with the PM I forgot to thank you properly.
