I'm betting the VF-25 doesn't have internal bay for missile. I took Kawamori statement as the based for my fact, he doesn't want to follow the current trend in fighter tech (which include internal missile bay) in his new valk design. About how Gilliam manage to fire missiles when he ejected the FAST pack before entering island 1, its probably animation error, hell he could have thrown unused part of his VF-25 at the lobster.

That would be the speed limit on atmosphere, in space I think VF-25 should be nearly equal with VF-27 when its equipped with SUPER pack, the main problem I think is the pilot endurance to resist the stress when piloting the VF-25 to its peak performance. My theory on newer generation of FAST pack is the engine has been compacted and it carried less fuel, so they got more room for weapons. BTW, I forgot, but someone actually counted the number of missiles on the VF-25 SUPER pack. It would be interesting if Mr.March put the statistic of all the FAST pack unit on a single page so we can compare one to another. I think the old Dave Deitrich site got one RPG page for all the FAST pack stat.

What I like from this issue is the size comparison of Mac 7 colony ships (I bet Mr.March would love to see a scan of it).

Didn't the original YF-19/YF-21 can only be fitted with augmentation part since their engines already give much thrust? If the super pack on VF-25 does give more thrust, is it possible to be more powerful than VF-27 (AFAIK doesn't have SUPER packs).

Well, this thread is about valk design, so let the discussion continue Most VF can be disabled by taking out its arm and legs (the reaction engines are in the leg) except VF-27 which also have another pair of engines on the wings. This show that YF-21/VF-22 is the most robust of all, since the lost of a limb does not reduce the valk performance (in fighter mode). I'm wondered about the VA-3 invader design, since I think the cockpit is literally located at the head in batroid mode and the engines located in the chest/shoulder area.

I believe there's a snapshot of a yellow squid riding on back of a VF-171 moment before it impaled the cockpit with its tail.

Well, I never played Ace Frontier, but according to my experience, game is a bad reference. Remember in VFX-2 where most of the valk can fire unlimited missiles even from valk that doesn't have internal bays. If VF-25 does have internal missile bays, the mechanix DX book thingy should have explained it, as well as the model kit manual.

Dulfim is one sexy ship, I really want a Frontier Lineart book. Looking at the Dulfim lineart from Tochiro's photos, it looks like it have two large cannon in the central body and possibly several landing strip on the side of the ship.
