Prototypes are always bigger than the actual product.
They shrink down about 5 to 8 percent depending on the material that they're going to use for production.
Q-Rau is my favorite mecha, may be the next vinyl figure after Glaug...?
VF-171 is from Frontier series. It is basically an upgrade from VF-17, and has almost the same transformation.
Only difference is that nose breaks in the middle, and folds back in battroid mode.
As for MWCon, I strongly suggest that you attend to this event.
It is going to be the biggest Macross party ever.
OK, this is going to be my little after work project. Hopefully I can finish it by MWCon.
I don't know if this is already done before, but I just want VF-171 next to my VF-25 toy.
I'm not caring too much about correct proportion, or detail accuracy.
I'm just going to do a quick conversion to make somewhat look-like VF-171.
I already cut some portion of wing and fins. I also cut shortened shoulder armor.
Later I'm going to extend nose and wind shield.
There's going to be a ton of displays this year.
100+ toy displays(new and vintage), model kits, figures, CDs, LDs, DVDs, you name it, and lots of customs,
and of course MARI IIJIMA on stage!!!
If we decide to make Mospeada Invids for Robot Vinyl Collection it will probably in non-scale.
Just big enough to fit inside the same clear package used for Regult and Voltron figures.
Yes, you need wheels in space. Those vehicles are not always in space.
Wheels are needed to store inside the hanger, and any place where gravity takes place.
We're not talking reality science. We're talking Macross.
I can't really comment about Regult Scout because we have not officially announced that we're going to produce.
Sorry, I'm just a toy designer. I told my boss that we need all four variations.
He saids that it needs more sales to continue the line.
So there you have it. Buy more Regults
It is nice to see this model that's actually built. This kit is discontinued and so hard to find. How's the paint staying on your model? I'm just worrying about that glossy coating. One problem about vinyl kit is that if you're not carefully washed the parts or didn't use proper type of paint, then the painted surface stays sticky.
Let me show you my small technique here. I use this Regult missile parts as an example.
Apply a small dot of Zap a Gap(it's a type of super glue)around the shaft of the parts. Then spray Zip Kicker(accelerator).
This will create a small bumps on the shaft, therefore it will make an extra friction to stiffen up the joints.
But do not stiffen too tight otherwise it will cause a breakage.
