I've never heard of Blu-Ray either. Anyway, I'm glad that it will play normal DVDs but I wouldn't have been surprised if it didn't. Sony is always trying to push it's own products. Weren't they the ones that made Beta? and they are still selling mini discs.

I keep telling myself that I need to come into this forum more often and topics like this are exactly the reason why! Cap, that is some NICE work. I have no modeling skills whatsoever but I'm interested. I also have horrible luck but I'm still entering the raffle. Woohoo! Thanks everybody involved for doing this for our community!

I remember them having a pretty good selection of DVDs but are you sure it was R2 and not a bootleg? And how much were they selling it for? I'd be tempted to check it out if it at least had some sort of extras or something.

Crap! I'm the whiney kid that can't act.

I haven't seen this picture of the Macross...

what can I say, please send pic this way too Send the pic this way three. you buncha perverts!!..... Now you got me all curious on what they look like!!! Add me to that pervert list!!! This why I feel at home here at MW. We're a bunch of pervs. I'd like a PM too please. As for the SDF pic....it looks sort of grainy. Is it because it was resized or is it from a game like others have said? -
I actually like the white. The rest is weird and I definitely don't like the shield.

I vote Poppy. Galford and Poppy were bad ass!

I think the main problem is the belt. I'd prefer to see more of a pouch type of belt rather than that gaudy thing. Also, why does it rise over his hips instead of coming around straight like a real belt?

Hey A7 Did she look as good as she does in the picture? I seem to remember seeing a playmate somewhere but she looked really old compared to the pics that she had up. -
Oh. Okay, yeah, he's a bastard. Dude, why sit there as a Robotech fan, win something decent related to Robotech, to just get rid of it. Fanboys. I'll never understand them.

Dang, I knew that one! Hmm, guess it's time to start watching my downloads of Samurai 7.

there is a pretty good version on one of the imacross servers. I can't remember which but there was a thread fairly recently regarding LLA and where to find it. You may want to try the search function for either LLA or the imacross servers.

I agree with some the NDS doesn't do much for me. It looks sweet but I'm still unsure about the two screen gimmick. Plus, given that PDAs that use a stylus eventually have problems with the touch screen, what is Nintendo doing to insure that the touch screen isn't going to crap out? Especially, since the NDS touch screen with endure a lot more contact than your typicaly PDA if you have to use the stylus for firing. The PSP is more interesting to me. It's the true the movie thing is a waste since I'll always have a laptop for work to watch movies on and I won't buy a movie twice. I do like the MP3 player aspect since I don't have one but I could do without it. I assume that Sony is going with the memory sticks due to the fact that they'll probably lose money on the system but try and make it up with accessory sales like the PS2. Aside from the PS2, I've never bought a system at launch so I'll play the wait and see game with both the PSP and NDS. Unless of course, I get the job I want then I may be playing a certain system right as it comes out.

Aw, c'mon Exo. We sat through the boring panel at AX not at SDCC. If it's the winner from Con then that means it's that old lady that complained that she couldn't hear the numbers. Damn. I would have kept it as it's pretty much guaranteed to have the early run variation.

Opinion: Most Annoying Sidekick In Anime
bigkid24 replied to Noriko Takaya's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Is this the guy that thinks he knows everything and really wants a car in the first series? I'd vote for this guy if it is. I hate people that talk like they know it all but don't. Ugh. I can stand the whining of other characters but this guy really bugs. -
I'm not sure anyone else got that joke I got it. That show was great stuff!

Here are some more people that were dressed up. The Batman people were part of the DC booth. From what I could tell, none of them seemed to be having fun except for Catwoman. This is a random person dressed as Supergirl. I guess next time I'll give a warning as to when I'm taking the pic. -

I'm a big fan of the Mattel Justice League figures. Here's one picture I took of some. I've never been a fan of Green Arrow but the figures looks sweet. -

Actually, it was the George Lucas Pavillion. More importantly, this girl was selling pens. I'd buy that for a dollar. -
I like the Sharon/Desert spine but is there a way to make Sharon even lighter?

True, but you have to jump through so many hoops for them that I wonder if they are worth it. Well, the Batman was. -
Wow. That's.....interesting. If it was cheap enough I'd probably buy. I'm a sucker like that. Speaking of bootlegs....I've seen a couple of new versions of everybody's favorite $5 VF-1S bootleg. Both come with the fastpacks and one is still painted in Skull Leader fashion with some extra details here and there while one is sort of a VF-1D brown and orange paint scheme.

The 2004 San Diego Comic Con Thread

Since I stopped reading comic books long ago, my friends and I were pretty much looking for anime related merchandise. Of course most of the vendors with good stuff were from Frank and Sons. Yoshi recognized me and we exchanged a couple of pleasantries. Most of my time was spent trying to pick up exclusive toys, participating in raffles, and getting the Toynami bookends. The two raffles that I really wanted to win were the Alpha raffle on Sunday and the SOTA toys mock ups of their Street Fighter line. I went there with bigben. I had dinner with Egan Loo and Exo. I saw Memo (carne asada guy) and wrylac at the Alpha raffle, and I heard Solscud was running around getting autographs. All in all a good time. Oh and Bobe-Patt, there were some cute girls dressed up as characters. So you did miss something. edit in - Forgot to mention that a vendor had a Low Vis for sale for only....$375! -
Exo, Memo, wrylac, bigben, and me waited anxiously at 4:00 at the Toynami booth because they raffled off another Alpha. Some lady and her son won it. Oh well. I got my bookends so I'm happy.

Here's one example of a comic book movie I think really should get made! I don't think I ever got all of the issues of the series so I guess I'll just wait for the movie. ( I think I've been using too many smilies lately.)
