New Kawamori Series In The Works
Abombz!! replied to therealfolkblues's topic in Movies and TV Series
Not all Gundam pilots are like that. Amuro was a specialy case... he was a whiny bitch in MSG and Z Gundam. Camile had the angst toned down... but he turned into a punching bag. Judo had no angst what so ever, neither did Amuro in CCA. Seabook didn't have it either, and neither did Uso. Now.. if you want to argue about teenagers getting into the cockpit of a Gundam... go right ahead. -

Somewhat true. Escaflowne is the typical case of love it or hate it. The number of ppl who like it is just about the same number of ppl who don't. Not to say its a bad show... but with 2 main characters full of angst..... it gives EVA a run for its money. B) . Correction... ppl like 0083 because of the animation and because it was the only Gundam series to get the physics right. -
How to save Star Trek? Kill it... and let what was good stay in the fans memories, and whats bad fade away.
-
You forget.... the first saga of macross was called Macross saga. And BTW... that hardly classifies as all the magazines in the world. Macross is well known outside the US. It will be far less confusing when the game is released in the US as Macross and ppl realize its not Robotech. And besides... it doesn't piss me off at all, ppl who are willingly ignorant and spread misinformation are just pathetic.

Front Mission 1 was just ported from the SNES to the PSX in japan too. Its pretty import friendly.
-
Being civil unless you guys want otherwise.
-
Oh? So you got the same feeling of deja-vu I got when playing the single player missions? As for the ships... I'm glad they made the ships more specialized, and the new designs are much better then the old. My other gripe... the new interface is bad, and the new research system very hard to get used to.

Really? I hadn't heard about that... should be cool. I'm guessing it'll be OYW, seeing as how that's synonimous with "hardcore Gundam" right now. It will probably be UC, or something made by Tomino, or a AU series with an UC tone. -
Helmets without a chin guard scream Vespa scooter to me, I dunno why. Maybe because.... they are Vespa helmets?
-
You are kidding right!? I think that helmet is made of "hot chick" repelant. What if it was a hot chick in it? B) Then she would be twice as sexy. Chicks (as long as they are good lookin') can pull off a great deal that guys should never attempt. Thats good to know.

Well, a lot also depends on who is doing the preview or review. IGN isn't just one person. Some people people are going to know the difference and some won't. Either way, the reason they "hate" it when fanboys inform them of the difference is probably because the fanboys are rude about it, no suprise that they might get annoyed... No doubt about it. But then again, the offices are not open space, theres alot of living and sharing in there.... so some things will probably be common knowledge. But I also atribute to RT:BC I guess.
-
The thing is... they are well aware of the difference, they just chose not to acknowledge it. <_< I think you're definately wrong there. Most of those people are casual anime fans who saw Robotech as kids, and simply don't understand the difference... and probably don't care to. To some it may be a big deal, but for most people it doesn't matter if there's a difference.. They just recognize it from their childhood. Sheesh, it's not liek they're TRYING to piss us off. Pissed off consumers means they won't keep buying their magazines, where's the business sense in that? No I'm not. Gamespot and ign are clearly aware of the difference. Both have many times stated how much they hate when fanboys keep sending them emails stating the difference. On the E3 coverage one of the editors mentioned they listened to Macross OSTs all the way from SF to LA or where ever E3 was held. Even further.... IGN has anime reviews, they are aware of the difference. Once, they talked about the RT:BC review, and one of the editor mentioned all the preview articles had been done by an intern who wasn't aware of the difference. As far as other magazine go.... some might not, but they are mostly aware of the difference specially if you consider how Japan exposed they are. P.S. You also got to note that when VFX2 and M3 were out or about to be released.... neither was called Robotech back then.

New Kawamori Series In The Works

Not surprising. Beneath the sword play and giant mecha lies a bishounen anime just waiting to swallow you up. Thank goodness Alan and Van were heterosexual. *Gasp* They were? Gah! I need to go watch it again then! Perhaps this time I will like it! -
Been there , done that : - that story was already done in Macross M3 for Dreamcast , Max & Millia adopted an infant Zentradi pilot as their own child and trained her and integrated her into their Dancing Skull Squadron. I´m surprised by the number of people that say they would want a circa 2012-2030 series but when we see the poll itslef the 2050+ option is getting all the votes I want to see VF-5000 and VF-9 , as well as Variable glaugs and the development of the VF-11 , kinda like M3 but with an alternative story set in a colony confonting rough Zentrans who have developed new mechas (yeah!) , a mix of VF-X2 kinda plot in M3 period. with high quality traditional animation. But you know... the development of the VF11 starts in M3. And if you want to see all those unknown valks... you are better off wishing for something similar to M3.

Where are the numbers on how Zero has been doing? I haven't heard anything either way, but I did wonder how it is being received... No numbers. Like I said before, it shows up on the charts for 2 weeks or so and drops out. -

Price wise.... thats the standard DVD pricing in Japan. As for OVAs.... DVD only OVAs aren't successful untill all the DVDs are made available, specially long running series like Macross Zero. Very few fans can commit to watching one episode every 4 or 5 months, only hard core fans do that. For a final veredict on how well Macross Zero is doing.... wait till all the DVDs are out and Bandai tried to bundle them in a more appealing package. -
Wait.... weren't them used because the YF21 System was affecting his brain or something? I remember the commanding officer mentioning something about the system affecting Gulds mind. I could be wrong though. I think it's more like the brain control system is working too perfectly, that it even respond to every actionable thought of the pilot. It has got nothing to do with Guld's anti-zentran rage suppressing pills. However, it's Guld's rage and the brain-control system's malfunction, and sudden system response after Guld's rage subsided (resulting in Isamu's 'downforce' incident) that piqued Millard's interest to start an investigation. Well... I guess that means I need to watch Macross Plus again... or not.

HW2= Game of the year for sure!!

Yep... like every other manga over there. Yeah, I follow manga releases even less than I do anime. Thanks. Usually... when the manga ends its run on a magazine its released in a compiled format. How popular it is affects how fast it is released. And to be honest.... I don't really know how popular Trash was, but it has a book release, specially since its pretty short.

No we are not. You are just saying that to make yourself feel better. I'm not saying there aren't many Escaflowne fans out there, I'm just saying that its not as popular as you might think. <_<
