Rogue Squadron 3 delayed!!!!!
Abombz!! replied to Macross_Fanboy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I've never liked any of the Rogue Squadron games. They're too... linear for my taste. Track shooters are so 1990s. Vostok 7 And who the heck said it was a track shooter? <_< -
Rogue Squadron 3 delayed!!!!!

Not the super bombad racing one, but the good one. There was an arcade version with a mockup of Annie's pod with realistic controls and everything. Totally rocked. Vostok 7 Pod Racing you mean? That game sucked no matter what gimmicks they added to it. <_< -

gonzo:shogi kawamori's history with it.
Abombz!! replied to zeus the zentran's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Gonzo is just an animation company that seems to have specialized in CG mixed with cell animation. I don't think they were ever a video game company. They just did the intro for DYRL because they are good at animation. -
Yep. Europe is R2 Pal, Japan is R2 NTSC. I know just changing the TV setting should be able to play Japanese games... but it doesn't. Theres more to it then just TV settings.

Talking crap to each other sounds like alot of fun!

About time someone did a review for those gems. SD GUndam are the funniest animes to ever grace this planet. Seriously.... for Gundam fans, theres nothing funnier then SD Gundam. One thing A7... while not on the level of INferior Defenders animation wise, that crap show can't even begin to compare to SD Gundams fabulous jokes.

Both. Iron Maiden and Girlfriend of Steel are unbiguos(sp) names for the game.

I'm sure, when first Gundam came out, there were only supposed to be three Gundam prototypes. In Kunio Okawara's MS Design Collection, the RX-78-1 is a prototype built at Jaburo, and the back story for the RX-78-3 is that it was built at Jaburo from the remains of the two Gundams destroyed during the Side-07 raid. Also, supposedly all three of the Gundams at Side-07 were RX-78-2s. No back story is given for the RX-78-4, the RX-78-5, or the RX-78-7. The RX-78-6 got some back story for being included in Zeonic Front. Who knows, that means we might get back story for the 4 and 5, since they're both going to be in Encounters In Space. Abombz!!, the aquatic Gundam is the RAG-79-G1. I don't know if that's considered Gundam G-1 or if the RX-78-1 is. Probably the RX-78-1, since the G-2, G-3, G-4 are all in the RX-78 line, and RX-79 implies that it came later. No back story is given for it, but it's part of KO's MS Design Collection, too. And I couldn't find anything that said that Alex is G-8, but if G-6 rolled out in November, and Alex was testing in December, it could very well be. Despite being the "official" explaination, the idea that the RX-79[G]s were built from spare RX-78 parts is still a pretty weak attempt to explain why there are yet more new Gundams in another One Year War story. We are getting back story on the G4 and 5 in the new manga "Lost War Chronicles:The end with a flash". As for the RAG-79-G1.... I simply assumed it was the G1 because it had to be built over something. UNless the G1 turns out to be one of the FA, heavy or light armor variants.

Its common for a pilot to out live its Gundam in a Gundam show. It happened in MSG, MSGZZ, Gundam X, Turn A Gundam and F91. There is a second Seed show coming in 2004. Its dubbed Seed 2 so far.

Get a console damnit!! If you are a SW fan... you owe it to yourself. Specially... since good SW PC games are few and far between. <_< -
Oh!! GPB armor as demo? Bold!!

I'm not sure either, the G3 was the new technology test bed unit I think. It was built along side the first 2. It was the first Gundam to use beam magnetic coating to improve speed.

THere's one other aspect to this. Nintendo has long had a tradition of "exclusive" Star Wars games on consoles going all the way back to the SNES. Part of their marketing strategy, I've always assumed. It's been frustrating as hell for SW gamers like me who just wanted to play Shadows of the Empire or Rogue Squadron without having to buy a Nintendo just to do so. Of course, now that Gamecubes are selling for $140 Cdn I may just pick one up to play Rogue Squadron III. Err.... Bsu? Both of those game you just mentioned got a PC version just a few months after the N64 version was released. In fact... I think Shadows was released simultaniously on PC and N64. -

damn internet problems. <_ -
Thats not the alexandria.... its an Alxandria class carrier called the "Al Giza" The G variant of the G2 Gundam was not considered part of the 8 prototypes. The 8 prototypes were: G1 Gundam Marin Type. G2 The Gundam. G3, the Gray RX78. G4, the blue variant of the 2 new RX78s. G5, the red variant of the new RX78s. G6, The Mudrock Gundam seen in Zeonic Front. G7, nothing really special about it, just looks like something out of F91. And last... the G8, RX78 NT-1, better known as Alex. Actually.... the first Gundam and the G3 had close combat in mind, not all multi role. The Space units were the G4 and G5. The ground unit was the mass produced G variant. The desert variant was the Mudrock (G6). The aquatic unit was the G1. The all around unit seems to be the G7. And the newtype unit seems to be the G8, Alex. All of those.... I think only the G variant, G1 and G6 were ground only units.

I would have loved Chronicles.... if it wasn't for the fact that it took about 5 minutes to save a game and the quick save option wasn't temporary. <_< That... and the fact that Square screwed up the Chrono Trigger port.
-
I would almost agree with you if it wasn't for The Ambiguously Gay Duo aka Kou and four-eye friend. lol.... I always think of Homer and Flanders.

Is that a bullet shap...... errr..... really nice nails.

Last Blitz of Zeon was a horribly edited freak of nature that makes even the horrible 0083 looks like a master piece. <_

Metal Gear and Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2
Abombz!! replied to Macross_Fanboy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
It wouldn't really be a problem with Solid 2.... all you did was watch watch watch and no play. <_< But thats not such a bad idea. B) -
It doesn't take much to handle a sword. If you kill about 1000 monsters in 10 minutes.... by the 11 minute you will be much better at the sword then you were when you started. The only problem would be the magicians.... but I always figured they were carrying books with them. But then again... its not like you start a new job already knowing all skills. Final Fantasy Tactics was the perfect example of job system surpassing the standard system. Yeah... thats why choosing the right combo was a big part of the strategy. Oh yeah... I forgot that back then there was no average RPGer. Can't argue with that... though the story and the characters are always the first things that pop up in my mind when I think of FFIV. Don't tell me you didn't enjoy watching that useless blonde freak get hammered by lv 1 monsters. Bah! Theres nothing like killing monsters..... Jason style! Can't argue with that..... don't forget Star Ocean too! B)

I never said that. I said I prefered when I was able to costumize the party, instead of recieving pre-made characters right off the bat. Well.... so what it takes years? Its an RPG not real life. If you would follow that trail of thought.... RPGs just wouldn't be possible, otherwise learning spells without anyone teaching is idiotic. And besides... while it might take years to learn something.... pratice makes perfection. If you hold a sword and go around killing animals, of course you will learn how to use a sword. If kill about 1000 animals a day, you will be more proficient with it after a year then you would if you kill 5 animals per year for 50. Yeah... and having the best jobs was part of beating crap up. I liked it myself.... but I was kind of looking at it from the point of view of an average RPGer. But then again.... the characters and story were better. . Yeah... but it was the characters that made watching those useless classes getting whopped after 1 hit entertaining. Its actually... alot of spare time and patience. Everysingle boss had a 1 hit spell weakness or some strategy that allowed the player to beat him without taking damage. Think thats tough? Try beating it with 1 black mage. I wouldn't really call that deep gameplay..... use Sabins Boom Rush, Edgards Chainsaw, Celes with the Ultimate sword, and Cyan with sword Tech 4 and the game was beat. Of course... you could always change Celes for Gogo and have him mimic Sabin or Edgard. . . . ....... ok... deep enough. Bah! Opinion is like ass.... everyone has one! Yes... and for that reason I thank Capcom and their Auto option in Breath of Fire. B)
