Bandai VF100's Official Thread Ver.2

And it borrows its disconnecting shoulders from the V2 VF-1, AMIRITE? Hey, guys, am I doing the company bashing right? Ohoho! guys? guys?* ... seriously, if people could get over the "Company X vs. Company Y" wang-slinging it would be fantastic. Yamato makes a sub-par 1/72 YF-19. They improve and make a decent 1/60 YF-19. Bandai makes improvements to their design with the Hi Metal VF-19. Yamato announces a 1/60 VF-19 that will no doubt have further improvements. It all sounds like a pretty nice arrangement to me. I might pick up a VF-1 just for scale purposes, but I'm more interested in the 21 and potentially a YF-19 (my personal favorite valk) - one thing's for certain, the Hi-Metal valks are being released MUCH more frequently than their 1/60 brothers, which means at the very least we shouldn't have to wait as long for "Fantasylust Valkyrie X" to finally get a toy release. *My V2 VF-1A is fine, thanks. So is my HiMet VF-19. -

The review mentions that the crotch lock is the same general design as the VF-25, but then says "but" and follows with something incomprehensible to babelfish. Can anyone read that (or provide firsthand experience - Graham?) and say whether there has been any significant change to the crotch lock so it doesn't just function on friction? -
The Yamato Dogs are big but extremely dull looking. Fortunately they're also really, REALLY easy to take apart to paint, which I'd highly recommend doing. If you've ever seen one of Takara's DMZ Scopedogs (gorgeous) you'll never be able to look at a Yamato dog on your shelf without being blinded by the dull bare plastic and broad swaths of blank plastic.

All the joints on mine are nice and tight, including the wings which are super-stiff. The articulation on Alto himself is incredible - he loses a fair amount in the armored mode, but he still manages to be decently enjoyable. I dig it!

Was it a video for the Hi-Metal VF-19 or the VF100 VF-25? They're two VERY different beasts. There's nothing on the VF-19 that could be called loose, and there's literally just one or two pieces here and there that actually come off, vs. the VF100 Messiah valks that, as you say, are more like a lego set. -

at the robot face staring out of the back of the valk. For those who are curious, the head will turn around and the robot mode head will integrate into the body of the valk (AKA: the valk wont actually look like that normally) - back-eyes are purely optional -
Hopefully Yamato wont treat this like the VF-11C or VF-22 molds and just redesigns this from the ground-up. There's way too many differences between the VF-19 and the YF-19, and the base frame has some major issues that I'd rather not see carried over.

Not quite ... (also in Scoopda thread)

They've shown design documents that say it will.

I said "we need to wait" because I wanted to make sure I saved, just in case the game spirited me away instantly, and I didn't lose anyone.

It might have to do with how much you have the various characters skilled up, too.

I just wish they'd provide a shot of the underside of the '27. I want to see if it looks like there's a different crotch lock mechanism. I'm not ordering the Lucifer until I can confirm that little detail. -

Maybe I'm missing something then... It looks like it has the exact same shoulders? -

The speaker pods are completely independent of the shoulders. Is there any particular reason why people have issues or worries with this piece couldn't just glue it in place if need be? Is there any actual reason to rip the shoulder off? -

The VF-27 looks REALLY nice, and it seems to have a fair number of improvements to coincide with the criticisms of the 25, such as a swing down locking arm for the gun and removable pilots. Now if only they had a confirmation that the crotch locking system was completely different, I'd preorder one right now. Tornado pack included for completeness' sake. Maybe we aren\'t talking about the same part? I thought we were referring to the head fin that sticks up in gerwalk mode: from http://schizophonic9.com/firevalkyrie.html -
Anyone found a source to buy the toys outside of mainland china, yet?

Nah, the gun should be mounted in the same place on the VF-19 as it would be on the YF-19, VF-1, VF-0, etc... -

No, it's true! Just look at the tray of parts, they only include connectors! WTF, right? Hee. Anyway. The base used is the Tamashii Stage3 base, they come in a 3-pack for about $14 and are pretty nice overall display bases. Great for Robot Damashii figs, revoltechs, and other smaller toys. I wouldn't try to use 'em for a 1/60 or anything, but they're quite versatile overall. -

Or even better, F-22 1/1 at $143,000,000 ... and those don't come with any optional hands at all, though they did think to fit them with integrated landing gear. -

The prospect of a VF-19/VF-19S/YF-19 trio display just gave me inappropriate thoughts. I think I might order the Fire Valk after all.
