Hey folks, Im leaving for DragonCon in a few days and wanted to know if anyone else from MacrossWorld is gonna be there and see if we can have a small get-together. Let me know and maybe we can at least go out for a beer or something.

Mospeada Genesis Climber

No... Stig/Scott deployed the TREAD/Beta to Guardian configuration and used the massive engines to slow down...not the Legioss/Alpha. -
Do you mean the Devastator? Its not so much that its not canon...its that its a pre-production design from Artmic Entertainment Bible #16. As for the Shadow-effect...yea...thats supposed to be the Shadow Dancer Cyclone IIRC. I personally don't think they could get the Shadow-cloaking system that small....but a Shadow Cyclone has been a part of Robotech fandom for over a decade and a half. It originally appeared in Protoculture Addicts long ago. Eh....Im not hot about certain aspects of the game...but I'll take it more readily than I would another Macross game.

Number 2 and 4, I believe, are the reasons in Mospeada. However, it was because they were coming in opposite of the Earth's rotation IIRC that they ended up burning up...not that it was the wrong angle. They had to land their forces as quickly as possible or they could have come under attack while de-orbiting and been able to do nothing about it. -
Hurricane Charley is coming
1st Border Red Devil replied to 1st Border Red Devil's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well.... its horrible to say it...but Charley aint coming directly into the Tampa Bay area. We'll still be rained out in my area....so some flooding...but not the 14 foot storm surge that they originally predicted. God help the people in Sarasota County..... -
Well.... a little over 12 hours from now, Hurricane Charley will most likely be making landfall just south of my hometown. About everything that can be done has been. Most people aren't evacuating it seems....hopefully the tidal surge won't flood out the area. Thankfully, I'm in an E-Evacuation Zone.....so we're the last to go and Im only a few miles from the White Zone (safe zone as far as tidal surge and such). With alot of luck, we wont necessarily lose our power....but Im sure we will. Looks like no work for me tomorrow....which is both good and bad. Ah well....I'll let y'all know as I do. If I can, I'll post during the hurricane. Say a prayer, dance a jig or wail to your ancestors...its dont matter to us. I'll hopefully still have power tomorrow. Now to sit and do something mind numbing....like play EverQuest! 1st Border Red Devil/Brooklyn Red Leg/Rabid Southern Cross Fan

Toys aren't them? Toys R Us may sell toy unit

Piss on TRU....they wont special order anything anyway. They refuse to cater to their client base and then wonder why everyone goes somewhere else. -
Well.... I will say that colorization has been done to movies that DIDNT need it (and were PURPOSELY filmed in black and white). Whomever colorized Treasure of the Sierra Madres should have been taken out and shot. The same for The Hill and a number of older pieces that someone just decided to f*ck with for no apparent reason.

I dunno.... I always thought Feff's advisor from Macross II got greased in a pretty pathetic fashion. He was trying to prevent his ship from being targeted next only to get pwned by his own boss.

I think the word you're looking for is THUG! -
The scans came from this book (good luck trying to find it. Perhaps Seichii will have copies if he does another sale here at MW anytime soon). Magazine for Anime and Hobby Fans - The Southern Cross Now, about the cruiser. There are in fact 2 models that were left out of Palladium's Southern Cross. The first is the Survey Ship seen in eps. #41 Half Moon and again in eps. #53 The Hunters. This one actually made it into Robotech Art 2 IIRC (which is above average for older Robotech products as they tended to completely ignore information from Southern Cross). It can hold up to 420 Bioroids. The next is the Heavy Cruiser that we first fully see in eps. #53 The Hunters (its seen beforehand briefly in pan shots of the Zor/Tirolian fleet). Its also seen again in eps. #56 Crisis Point and again in eps. #59 The Invid Connection. Its covered in a number of beam weapons (including one that is a reactive/reflex weapon for smearing cities...and spaceships). The official stats say it can hold up to 72 Bioroids....but I think this should be increased x3....but I dont make the stats...just critique them. Hope this helps.

Yea... Its listed in the Magic of Palladium Book Collected...which should still be in print. However, before you use the image that Palladium used, just fair warning. All the Battloids, with the exception of the GMP Garm Security Drone and Tactical Corps Salamander (mislabeled as the TC Recon) are mislabeled and assigned to the wrong divisions. The two Civil Defense Battloids are in fact the Enlisted and NCO versions of the Tactical Corp's Salamander while the Cosmic Unit battloid is in fact the Arctic Unit's Fenris Powered Armor. Lastly, the mislabeled GMP Battloid is in fact the Recon Unit's Cyclops/Monocle Battloid. The MR-02 Protector is in fact the Desert Unit's Basilisk. The EBSIS Soldier, as you will see, is in fact the Navy Kraken Deep Sea Powered Armor. The EBSIS Juggernaut is the Marsh Unit's Triton....and is CLEARLY seen in the closing credits of Robotech as being an Earth mecha (its coloration is green). The EBSIS Recon Destroyer is in fact the Alpine Unit's Satyr. Here are two pages from the Magazine for Hobby and Anime Fans: Southern Cross Hope this helped!

I was gonna guess it was something written in Zentraedi...as one or two of the characters look similar....

opinion: deaths in anime
1st Border Red Devil replied to renegadeleader1's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Best - Emerson from Southern Cross. Jackass finally realised that he had been wrong the entire time and that negotiations weren't possible. Served him right. 2nd Runner Up has to be Gyunei from Char's Counterattack. Oops, talk about not paying attention! Funniest - Gotta agree with Jemstone and say Quess Paraya from Char's Counterattack. Of course, the fact that she dry gulched her old man earlier in the movie pretty much set her up being target #1 for the Gundam Karma machine. Saddest - Hmm....although she technically didn't die....I gotta vote for Ai Amano from Video Girl Ai. Ive got a soft spot for Ai. -

'Gunboat' to 'Gun Destroyer'
1st Border Red Devil replied to Aurel Tristen's topic in Movies and TV Series
Cause Destroyers are capital escort vessels. That gun mounted inside its bow kinda takes it out of the escort role and more into the planetary bombardment category. -
'Gunboat' to 'Gun Destroyer'
1st Border Red Devil replied to Aurel Tristen's topic in Movies and TV Series
Well....IIRC a gun boat in the traditional naval sense doesn't engage other capital ships. Gunship generally refers to a non-capital vehicle (usually a helicopter) as well. Perhaps people in the know decided that a term like Gun Destroyer worked better as both gunboat and gunship are really references to much smaller weapons platforms. -
Toynami at the San Diego Comic Con
1st Border Red Devil replied to Ivan's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
It rests between the shoulder missile pods. Either the left or right one has a hardpoint for it to mount on in Fighter Configuration. Its the same for the Shadow Alpha and Shadow Drone. Its above and behind the cockpit and should be able to fire in all modes. -

Yea...the hovercycle was based on the 1/20th scale Flashclapper seen in the back of This is Animation Special #10: The Southern Cross. I do believe it was released in both Japan and the US. -

VF-1MS Metal Siren Reactive Weapon?
1st Border Red Devil replied to Gideon Krieg's topic in Movies and TV Series
Well....as for using the plasma spear inside a ship..... its kind of a no-brainer that the ship popped like an overfilled balloon. You would get a similar effect if you detonated a small nuke inside. The very atmosphere of the ship would magnify the resulting fireball. Plus, we don't know WHERE exactly Nexx set this off. If it was near where the ship's stored reaction mass or near a central magazine.... -
You're an evil bastard Myriad.... As for the fanfic...its not as bad in some spots. Ive read worse and Ive read better. ::shrugs::
