Thats actually not true. They showed up in Return of the Jedi during the massive fleet action over Endor...though most of what people saw was the MC-80s. I only recently noticed the Dreanought-class Cruiser in RotJ in the scene before the fleet jumps to Endor.

Well..... seems they wanna turn everything into a musical. First it was Star Wars with The Christmas Special then the Lord of the Rings as a musical (though, to be fair, if they actually have the poems/leys from the novels it may be better than PJs travesty). Now they are doing The Last Starfighter. Whatever....I aint spending a dime on something like that so its no sweat off my buttcrack. Someone was definitely deciding to do a real Springtime for Hitler it seems.

Not to sidetrack the discussion..... but what the f*ck does Yamato have to do with Alpha toys? They have never, to my knowledge, indicated that they would produce anything for Mospeada or Southern Cross....so complaining how much you think the VF/A-6H MPC sucks compared to the Yamato 1/48 VF-1 is a bit like complaining to Chevrolet how much you think the Black and Decker Power Tools are better than an S-10 Pickup Truck.

Actually Nanashi...the only non-transformable Battloids are the mecha from Southern Cross like the Salamander, Basilisk and such. I do believe Prelude to Battle in fact is the only time we here that term. Any time they refer to Macross mecha such as the Tomahawk, they call them Destroids. It is true that Macek, in some of his nuttier instances, refers to the Destroids as non-transformable battloids. However, his opinion doesn't count.

Well...not to sidetrack...but Boromir was not a traitor. He simply fell under the sway of the Ring because of his nature. The reason Dunedain like Aragorn and Faramir didnt fall under its sway was they were the exceptions in many cases...not the rule. Even Sam came close to submitting to the Ring when he bore it for Frodo.

Ok.. the SDF-2 Megaroad from Macross Perfect Memory looks almost nothing like the Megaroad from Flashback 2012. The one from FB 2012 was redesigned from the existing hull of the SDF-2 being built on the Moon. The ship in that sketch is NOT the SDF-1 from the Movie. This is the sketch of the SDF-2 from MPM (thanks to Rtsurfer for hosting it)

Ok.. having thought about this quite a bit lately, Im convinced that the Ikazuchi's are brigade/division sized drop ships. Several things led me to the conclusion that the Ikazuchi is the Daedalus Concept taken to its logical conclusion. 1.) There are no cannon on the bottom. If the class of ship were designed purely for space operations, then why are there no guns to defend the undercarriage? 2.) The 'hourglass' structure at the front of the ship looks like it should fold down. While the upper one could be used to recover Alphas for reloading into the quick launch bays, the bottom structure is perfectly suited for lowering to disgorge troops onto a surface. 3.) If the ship was meant to be used in space alone and not to be used inside an atmosphere, why in The Invid Invasion were the Ikazuchi's of the 21st Mars Division even anywhere near Low Earth Orbit? Coming that close to the Invid controlled atmosphere would be inviting them to destroy the heaviest cruisers in the fleet. No. Its apparent that the Ikazuchi is a troop ship/drop ship meant to move large amounts of troops and supplies quickly to a planetary surface. Of the ships seen in The New Generation only the SDF-4 Izumo wasn't designed to land on a planet's surface. PS - According to The Sentinels script for the eps. Soft Sector (IIRC), the REF deployed an SDF-5 (Ikazuchi) to Tirol's surface for the purpose of landing 2 brigades to reinforce the GMU already there. While this is not proof in my eyes...as I wanna see The Sentinels burned for the most part....it does seem that others felt this way long before I did.

Ugh The Jack McKinney novels should all be ritually burned and people should piss on the ashes. I, for one, am glad those pieces of trash have been disavowed by HG. Not only did they create problems with the continuity where non existed...the novels seem to portray a sadistic streak to hose the Southern Cross no thanks to that hack Macek .

Ok... there has recently been alot of discussion surrounding my belief (based on the animation) that the Logan from Southern Cross has hardpoints capable of mounting at least 1 medium range missile. The fact that there is an OSM graphic that implies the Logan can carry missiles has also been hotly contested. In the eps. #46 Star Dust in Robotech we see a flight of about 6 Logan's emerge from a pair of Pegasus-class Assault Shuttles to fire a barrage of missiles. I have contended for a long time that this animation is in fact valid...eventhough its reused from eps. #42 Danger Zone. Rtsurfer at Robotech.com and I were chatting about something that is on the Logan that has no apparent use...a single rail on each forearm. When in fighter configuration, the rail is parrallel with the undercarriage of the fighter and high enough off the ground to mount either 2 short range missiles or 1 medium range missile. What do you guys think?

I say piss on Toynami anyway...they refuse to do anything at all with their Southern Cross license and apparently wont sublet it to someone else. To hell with George Sohn and his company!

Dude... I would suggest a Community/Junior College first. Its cheaper. Dont worry about going to a University until you're an upperclassman.....unless you wanna do the dorm thing and live on campus and do campus stuff (its not for everyone). Otherwise...go CC or JC...but just realise that it can be like HS 2.0 in some cases (at least it was for me). GET YOUR A.S./A.A. FIRST! I cannot stress that enough. Get all your underclassman courses out of the way first and then you can concentrate on your major field(s) of study. It will make your life alot easier once you get to be an upperclassman.

About the Assault Weapon Ban.... just to let some of you know how DUMB it is...I do believe that the M-1 Carbine Paratrooper Model fell under the ban because it had: a folding stock, bayonet lug and a high capacity magazine: 10, 15 or 30 rounds. Would someone please explain to me WHY a weapon that was 50 yrs old at the point of the original ban (now over 60) is considered too dangerous for civilians to rightfully own when we have SWAT Teams with MP-5s and M-16s? I would love to hear the logic that states this weapon is somehow responsible for enough crimes in the United States to warrant it being banned. More people are killed EVERY DAY with baseball bats and knives. The ban on 'assault weapons' was stupid. Its interesting to note that the 3rd Reich under Adolf Hitler passed the first gun control laws in order to have a safer country that could be the model of modern Europe.

Just to play the Devil's advocate for a moment..... Are you so certain that people who would support the Anti-UN are basically greedy and/or power hungry? Wouldnt there be people that would have a legitemate gripe with the centralization of power under a group that, as many of us know in RL, is full of morons and thugs? Wouldnt there be people that would have a legitemate worry that the UN created the ASS-1 as a hoax in order to run roughshod over people? Couldnt it be that there are people who are legitemately afraid of being on the recieving end of 'justice' by groups within the UN because of past grievances? If all the Anti-UN are painted as insane, criminal or power-mad thugs...that is just as dumb as the portrayal of the Anti-Unification League and Army of the Southern Cross in the Robotech novels (and newer comics...no thanks to that no-talent hack of a writer Jay Faerber). Its taking an overly simplistic and, in some cases, stupid view of how life works. Having the heads of the Anti-UN be some Snidely Whiplash-esque villains who twirl their mustachios and laugh maniacally would be a mistake of the first order.

Just frigging great. I finally get back from DragonCon (delayed no thanks to Hurricane Frances) and now I have to leave...AGAIN. Worst of all, there isnt a place to crash this side of Valdosta (unless I wanna take my chances in Pinellas County). Ah well......I guess it'll be nice to spend some more time in Atlanta with my family....
