Actually...it wasnt AgentONE being harsh on Robotech that set me off. I have taken so much $hit as a Southern Cross fan lately that.....well....it was the straw that broke the camel's back. It could be thought of as an offering of appeasement to the rather vocal and expanding Southern Cross fanbase. While I would have preferred a wallscroll of the Ajax or Spartas...I don't necessarily mind this scroll.

I fail to see how more Robotech could affect your love of Macross since this is going to essentially be a sequel to Mospeada.

So they are. However, there is no chance that a Japanese sequel to Southern Cross will ever surface without Robotech. Since The Sentinels would have to be reimaged almost from top to bottom to be more in-line with Robotech's continuity, more of what was Southern Cross will appear until the shift to more of the Mospeada look after the conclusion of the 2nd Robotech War. The REF/Pioneer Mission and ASC use so much of the same equipment that, again, this is the only chance of seeing something more come of Southern Cross.

Actually...Im more of a Southern Cross guy...which Robotech is the only outlet through which there is any hope in hell of seeing more made of....assuming Shadow Chronicles leads to the redevelopment of The Sentinels.

Ok, I'm wondering if the GBP-1 Armour can be utilized fully loaded by a Valkyrie in ground combat situations. In otherwords, turning a fully useful Valkyrie into a Destroid for patrol/defense. While I realise this is militarily stupid, as it wastes the potential of a multi-role vehicle by retricting it to one form, necessity is the mother of all invention.

Nice Jung. Interesting that there appear to be 260mm Diamondback missiles conformal mounted under the intakes...and it doesnt interfere with the transformation sequence. I wonder if they could be fired in Battloid mode or not....they might scorch the undersides of the wings..or they may have a special backblast plate at the back of the MER rack. I also like the additional 8-shot 190mm Hammerhead launcher between the shoulders in fighter mode. Anyway....cool pics!

Thats cause Studio Madhouse is providing the CGI component of Shadow Force and presumably Shadow Chronicles.....assuming that Shadow Force does well enough to warrant a series. As for new mecha....Ive heard rumours that a new warship design may be in the series as well as the Devastator and Shadow Dancer Cyclone. We've heard conflicting rumours about the Synchro-Cannon armed Beta. Ive also heard that characters from all 3 series will be making an appearance in some form or other...no word yet on what characters (I'm really only interested in the Southern Cross characters). Its also been talked about in the past that the SDF-3 that was seen in The Sentinels was truly just the exoskeleton of a Zentraedi warship and that the actual design may come out looking (hopefully) more like a Tokugawa-class Super Carrier or Tristar-class Cruiser Leader. I for one hope this is true.

Well...they announced who the writer of the Robotech: Shadow Force is - Ford Riley! (who?) Here's his list of credits from IMDB "Megas XLR" (2004) "ChalkZone" (2002) "¡Mucha Lucha!" (2002) "Teamo Supremo" (2002) (and story editor) "What's with Andy?" (2001) "Teacher's Pet" (2000) (and story editor) "Angela Anaconda" (1999) "Recess" (1997) "Timon and Pumbaa" (1995) It will be a 90 Minute Feature on DVD and VHS coming on out in 2005. It will have characters from all three chapters of Robotech. “With Bernard and a new cadre of characters that will battle a new menace.” (hopefully not phantom) The article states that it’s 40% CG and 60% 2d. The 3d software used has been Alias’ Maya, Discreet’s 3ds max, Shake and Combustion. Tatsunoko is noted as playing a strong role too. Ford Riley wrote the Script and Kenji Terada was consulted to help out too. There is also mention of Shadow Chronicles...which would appear to be the story arc that Shadow Force is kicking off.

Who knows. The file indicates that the Invid had studied the Alpha and Beta...so its based partly on human mecha.

You know...I think Ive seen the heighth of hypocrisy this morning. Some godd@mned 'Soccer Mom' yakking on her cellphone had a 'Vote the Environment' bumper sticker on display on her 4WD Toyota 4Runner SUV. I wanted to run her off the road and cuss her out. I don't care what side of the political spectrum you fall on...but that is arrogance in action. I felt like screaming at her for being one of the reasons why gasoline costs as much as it does now.

Ok, I'm trying to get the attention of the people at Academy Models to reinvest in Southern Cross models. Given that they now do lots of armored vehicles and such, I was hoping that maybe they would be enticed given the number of ground vehicles in SC. I posted over at their homepage asking this...and I need to get people to go and give voice to this idea. I know its a long shot, million to one odds, but I would dearly love to have something from Southern Cross....especially an IFV or C3I Carrier. They could even do models of the spaceships. Please, I know Ive asked you all to sign my petition...now is the time to try and take this to the next level. If we can get Academy interested....maybe...just maybe...Harmony Gold will actually go along with this. I know there are those of you that either hate Southern Cross, Toynami or hate Harmony Gold. I'm only asking for those that like Southern Cross (you dont have to be the fanatic like I am). Please...consider going and reccomending this. Hopefully it will happen....
