One word! COMPLETE!!!! Please make a 1/48 with the fast/strike pack included! This way, I don't have to go around looking to buy the extra accessories!!! Now, let me dream... A GBP armor, a fast/strike armor, a valkyrie in ONE BOX!!! For Christmas!!!! Make it $200.00 and I will buy it!!! Paulo
-
Congratulations!!!! (nice pic) That is a good thing I think! (As long she doesn't nag about your little "Macross vice"...) When I got married, my wife already started to cut the budget of my "vice" to prepare for the baby's budget... Aren't we lucky?! Paulo
-
I don't want to spoil anything, but I just came over on the net with this info, please check out the link: Shops in HK Too bad I can't read it.... Paulo
-
I need to get this one too! So maybe by Christmas we will see a GBP armor? Or perhaps another "extra" set of accessories with different heads for 1/48 line and hands? Need to rob a bank, need to rob a bank.... Paulo

Hey BlackAces, Don't tell me we are going to have a one visit at an anime shop, then a restaurant, an anime shop, another restaurant....I don't think my wallet and stomach will be able to handle that!!! But still, don't forget to add the beer/pub thingie at night time to brag about the "daily" hunt! Paulo
-
As always great job!!! Each year seems to have some delightful surprises coming out! So any chance we will see a Hikaru in DYRL uniform version? Yamato! Wake up!!! Hire this guy services!!!! Paulo

Mine would be my first Bandai 1/72 changeable VF-1S model kit back in the 80's. (Forme a model kit that could change was really something!) I was still a high school student, and bought the kit with the money I earned washing dishes and cleaning tables at a chinese restaurant... (tough times back then) I would run everyday after school to catch the ahem "Robotech" on TV! Little have I known that I was hooked into Macross! Paulo
-
I have double trouble... First is displaying the 1/48, 1/60 and 1/72 on shelves... Next is their huge boxes by Yamato...they are under my bed, in the closet, under my desk... Any good suggestions? Paulo
-
Which Macross (series or movie) do you think......
VF-1S Alpha replied to UN Spacy's topic in Movies and TV Series
For me Macross Plus (English or Japanese) version... The lyrics and music were kind of captivating, you can almost say poetic! Of course DYRL is like "national anthem" but that would be my second place. Paulo -
Great job there! I already have a costume of Federation Uniform from Gundam 0083. Next I am hope to have a movie version of flight suit of VF pilots.... Wish my wife would share this Macross interest with me, she says how come I am still watching children's cartoon?! Go figure! Paulo

Hey Graham, What happened to HK, they usually have the toys even before Japan had for about a week in advance! Please let us know what are the prices of FP there in HK...when they come out! Paulo
-
Sebastian, Very kind of you! Please get me 2 then! I will treat you for a pizza and beer at Pizza Hut or Spaghetti House! See you there! Paulo
-
Guys, Just occurred to me the following situation: When our "group" arrives at the shop, and there's only ONE macross item left, and we have SEVEN people who wants to buy it, how do we deal with that? Fight between each other?!!! Or do we have a on spot bidding?!! <_< Okay, thinking too much here! Maybe we just do a flash-mob thing on the anime stores with our group!!! Paulo

Well, averaging 100 bucks per each 1/48....I guess Yamato expect us to shell out about 500 to 1,000 bucks per person on the 1/48 lines... Right now I have 3 1/48 (VF-1A/S/Max), now need to buy 3 fast packs, and God knows if I need to buy a (Base ARM) from Yamato to hold these huge 1/48 in suspension! Well, what can I say? I am very happy with these Macross "golden years" of toys, reissues, models, and so on...but my wallet and wife aren't happy with it... Paulo

Hey Sebastian, I have tried to scourge that toy here in Taiwan's Carrefour, but nothing! Can you be kind as to find out how much is shipping to Taiwan? Many thanks!!! Hope to see you in HK in January! Paulo
-
No, beacuse my place is a typical tiny HK apartment and my one spare bedroom is full up of cartons of Macross toys, so even though it has a double bed you can't actually see the bed anymore because of all the boxes. Graham Hey Guys, I think Graham it is already being nice to vacate some of his precious time to be with us! I don't think is nice to ask Graham to stay at his place (even kiddingly).... (respect other people's privacy?) All I want is free beer and food!!! (now, I am kidding!!!) Graham, we hope we are not bothering you there! All we need now is to post the news of the Macross Fan club gathering in HK, and you will be a hit!!! Paulo

I think it varies. Sometimes Kanto is more expensive, sometimes Animate. But I think you are right that generally Animate is a little cheaper overall. Yes I also noticed that Animate's stock usually seems more limited though. No, I don't get over to Causeway Bay much, probably just once or twice a month as I live out in the New Territories and my office is in Kowloon side. Actually, my office is fairly close to Mong Kok, so it's very easy for me to go and check out the Mong Kok branches of Animate & Kanto during my lunch break. Graham Usually when I buy stuff at Animate comes likes this: Me: Do you have more? Salesclerk: No, last one! Me: Can you get more? Salesclerk: Only if you go to our other store! Me: &*^% oh, ok! (leaves the store frustrated) Perhaps it's because I look like a typical Asian? Before I used to stay in Kowloon Hotel, kinda of expensive, but hey, I was there on company business! The little time I had after those business meetings, I had to run to whatever anime shops I could... Hope to meet you one day Graham! I might even pop up in HK before the end of this year, as I plan a trip to Japan on end of january or so. Paulo
-
Oh, well.... Safety is important to me, so as cleanliness, etc. So I think I will stick with the 3 star hotels, as I don't want to have sudden surprises in a trip that is supposed to be pleasant (not mentioning my investments in Macross stuff) which I hope are still there when I leave the room. See you guys soon! If not sooner!!! Paulo
-
Er, I was looking for the USD40 to USD60 range? So far I have found the COSCO hotel which has some mixed reviews, but prices are still to be announced for January 04 Paulo
-
Thanks Graham! Maybe you should ask Yamato if they have corporate rates in any hotel? Well, just a thought...but let us know on when you hit a good deal somewhere! It would be cool if most of us who attend would be staying at the same hotel! Paulo
-
Well, any assistance with accomodations? I heard that hotel in HK now are back to normal business and so they probably are expensive now! Any info on cheap hotels (safe, clean) would be great! The more I can save in hotels, the more Macross stuff I can buy! Paulo
-
Hey Graham I thought Kanto hobby was more expensive than Animate? Sometimes I think we can get better deals at Animate, but their stock (if any) are usually low. Do you try your luck on Causeway Bay area near the Sogo dept. store? Paulo

I will be interested! I live here in Taiwan, and I do occasionally go to HK to stock up on Macross, Gundam, Anime videos, etc. So doesn't hurt to find out what other places Graham knows! And also have some beer in the pubs! Keep me posted, I will be there!
