  1. 1/60 I only have the Super J and Strike S from previous purchases. 1/60 just bought the VE and VT. I guess that is all I am getting from the 1/60 line unless they come with a J GBP. I am just hooked to the fast pack things. 1/48 I got the VF-1A hikaru, S Fokker, and VF-1A Max. I will get the S Hikaru and J Hikary sometime later this year. I love them both....I am lucky that I can afford them I think. Paulo
  2. It was a matter of time... the 1/60 PG of GP01/fb...and comes with full details/diorama!
  3. America's funniest home video? (option 1) Ripley's Believe it or not (option 2) Adult web sites (option 3) when we are the pubs drinking, and er ... Macrossworld forum (free to anyone who requests a copy) option 4 Japan's NHK TV network on an special issue of Macross Fans! (option 5) Perhaps we should rent a small shuttle bus for us?!!! Paulo
  4. Just thought of something! I will bring my digital SONY camcorder...I will record most of our tour/trip around day and night! I will make it into a VCD thing....A guide to Macross/Anime shopping in HK! Starring...(you guys would know who?!) WE WILL BE FAMOUS! (Yeah, right!) Comments? Paulo
  5. Hey. EVA air is from Taiwan, new airline (about 10 years), quite nice IMHO. Make sure you get their Economy Deluxe class (which is a business class seat with economy class food/service) CHINA Airlines is also from Taiwan...oldest airline of Taiwan, and with the most accidents records...I usually don't fly them... Also JAL is fine...u should try Malaysia Airlines, or Thai Airways, or even UNITED...they have some good pricing with restrictions. We hope to see you in HK in 04! Paulo
  6. I hate to say it but this crazy idea started from me saying to sebastian "wanna go shopping in HK in January as that's when I get my work holidays!" And it's mutuated into this! Hmm, we may have to split into 2 groups: the 'singles' group and the 'married' group... we can keep shopping while the rest of you go off to a girlie bar! Hey! no splitting into 2 groups! But if there are 2 groups, I will stick to the MBA group. (MBA = Married But Available) January is fine in HK, just don't go there in the Chinese New Year...most shops are closed! Paulo
  7. Great Idea Graham! But it's going to be cold in January...how about a embroidered jacket with Macross logo on the front, and "our" own logo on back?! (are custom embroidery in HK cheap?) But if we really do wear T-shirts, are we going for Iron transfer or silk screen? Hummm, I am not big artist...but I hoping someone from the Macross community could give us a hand? Paulo
  8. Gee the way we glorify the VF-1, it seems then we will never see a 1/60 or even dream of a 1/48 Zentraedi Battlepod! I guess it's a matter of quality(VF-1's) over quantity(Zentraedi)! Paulo
  9. Uhhhh, Graham, you're forgetting one very important positive about the shops not opening until 1pm; hangover recovery time. If there's to be lots of drinking going on there needs to be appropriate time to recover from said drinking All in all I'd say the shops run some pretty idea hours for the group Great schedule there Graham!!! Almost like a pro tour guide!!!! I will stick with your schedule....I guess I need two days for Macross shopping and one extra day or 2 for other shopping things! If Yamato office is off limits, it's alright....I would really want to go if they have some prototypes for us to drool over....after all we are "rabid" fans, right? But I think I would behave very well if we given the chance to visit! Shops opening so late is fine with me....need to adjust the hangover from pubs, beers, and girls.... Thanks again Graham...let us know if we need to tip the tour guide!!! Paulo
  10. My wife suggested me to go ask for one of those professional display manufacturer's for a quote... So I asked for a all glass with a mirror backing, with adjustable glass shelf...and the quote came to about USD2,000.00! I prefer to use that money to buy 1/48s or Macross stuff... So maybe what I really need to rent an apartment outside of my home, and make it my Macross Shrine! At least the rent is about 120.00 per month! Who knows? Maybe I can hold a macross convention there in the future! Paulo
  11. Yes, yes, yes....Toys! Just to make sure, only 1 day? Or 2? As for food, I will settle with Pizza, TGIF, Steaks, Hard Rock or Planet Hollywood! For drinking, pubs are fine at night. For company, cute HK girls are fine too.... But main thing are MACROSS toys!!! Paulo
  12. more pics for the girls...more more more..... Guys, I thought this was supposed to be a Macross Shopathon NOT a HK Girl Shopa/Conquerton!!!! Er, let's hope our English will be sufficient to get some girls talking to us? Are girls attracted to guys speaking English? I just checked my frequent flyer mileage...I have enough miles from Cathay to go to HK back and forth for 3 times!!!! Bring it on! But I will use some miles to go to Japan and Bangkok too!!! Er, my Cantonese ability is NIL, but I can do good Mandarin (Pu Tong Hua), I heard chinese tourists from beijing and shanghai are the rage lately! Okay, so besides pub, let's *not* mention KTV, DISCO, and so on.... Paulo
  13. Don't worry, I'm a burger, steak and pizza kinda guy. I'm not into exotic food at all. In fact despite living in HK, I don't really like Chinese food much and the only time I eat it is when I have to visit my wife's parents. And the weather in January should be around 12 to 20 degrees Celsius (That's 53.6 to 68 Fahrenheit for you Yanks). Humidity should be low in January as well. Graham Well, great!!! Western food! I for one would love to hit some western food restaurants! So no more Dim Sum guys! No more chow-mein! I can have plenty of Asian food anytime I want while I am here in Asia. Now back to the topic, let's hope we can still get some "Cheap" fast packs while we are there...I will be getting some more reissues of the 1/48....need to learn from Graham....I will have a VF-1S Hikaru in 3 modes with Strike packs!!! Paulo
  14. Nothing wrong with drinking beer, eating, chatting!!! I love that too! Just don't get us to eat those exotic "game" cuisine....(rats, snake, monkey brains) WOW, looking forward to spend money still on Macross/Yamato stuff! Q-rau!!! Awesome! Hey, maybe we should mention that weather in January is alot cooler and humid too? Paulo
  15. Kinda makes me worried.... Maybe the only thing we will be doing at shopathon is drinking beer, pub hoping, eating as there's nothing much in regard to Macross to buy in January? Or maybe January is the best month to buy stuff because people got their year end bonuses??!!! Like Graham said, better be safe than sorry, so buy it now before you regret it! But still, I am looking to have fun at the shopathon! Paulo
  16. About Graham doing that... hummmm. MAybe after the 4th or 5th Bar. About me wearing a Macross T-shirt and singing Macross songs in the sreet following Graham as a scout boy... Maybe after the 6th bar. Now, Guppy doing ALL those things and walking on his hunderwear... right away we start the shopathon! You said: We came to shop, to eat, and to conquer! It should reads: We came to shop, to eat, to get drunk, and to conquer your girls! B) Now....of course I was kidding in there about the Graham taking lead, and boys' scout thingie...best if we dress up in black suits to look like triads so we can get our stuff for free for our "services" rendered to the shops....(wow, what an imagination!) Regarding the "conquering girls"...Maybe we need Sebastians' expertise to enlighten us on how to do it?! So we have about 10 people yet? Paulo
  17. Hey put me in!!! I would want a headsculpt of Fokker!!! And how much will he charge you? Can we fit the head on Dragon bodies (they are iMHO more articulate) His work is great...if you can sculpt a nice 1/6 helmet, and do a nice custom uniform, I would go for it too! Next, does this guy would be willing to make a sculp of myself in 1/6? I am serious!!!! Paulo
  18. Living in Taiwan....usually have to wait about one month after release in Japan, HK, and even USA! But ordering from Japan is expensive on shipping, especially from HLJ! So now I order from HK directly, and shipping is cheaper, and you the bad economy that is in HK, you can get good deals there! So guys, join our Macross shopping spree in HK next January 2004!!!! Paulo PS: I got 4 fast packs already just in case! (Isn't life sweet?)
  19. Nope, no 1/48 VE-1 & VT-1 in development yet as far as I know. Who knows what the future may hold though! I agree that they would be ultra-sweet in 1/48 scale. Graham Sorry, just pulling your leg there Graham....! I just used common sense....Yamato already has the design for the VF-1 for 1/48 scale, so if they just "modified" certain parts of the mold, they could make a VF-1D, and from that, they could go to VE and VT versions. (at least that is what they did on the 1/60 scale) You know what? These Yamato 1/48 collection are becoming more expensive than the desktop PC that I am using.... Crossing my fingers on the VF-1J and the GBP armor! Before Christmas please! Paulo
  20. How about Zeta Gundam? For Bandai it is more profitable perhaps to churn out PG 1/60 of DOMs, ZAKU, etc...than to continue on an outdated design (ahem, cough, cough) of the Macross lines.... Cross your fingers...I am dying for a Hasegawa 1/32 VFs or 1/48 from Hasegawa...Love the details! Paulo
  21. My most expensive purchase was on the original 1/48 Club-M Ultimate Strike Valkyrie with shipping from Japan (HLJ) it came around USD500.00 that was the most expensive single purchase I have ever made. Next most expensive thing, was travelling to Japan in Osaka/Tokyo doing a Macross shopiing spree which I spent almost USD2,000.00 buying here and there!!! This not includes food/lodging/others. Paulo
  22. Hahahaha....satisfied customer? Maybe satisfied fan! Wait about 20 more years later, and our Yamato 1/48 will be vintage toys... Can anyone imagine what would happen in 20 years? Maybe these toys will AUTO TRANSFORM on voice command!!! and add a magnetic base, and maybe the toy will float? Okay, back to reality!!! Paulo
  23. Maybe Graham knows something that we don't? hehehehe Perhaps there's the 1/48 VT and VE somewhere in the R&D stages?! Well, welcome the 1/48 club!!!! My only complaint is still is: THE BOX IS TOO BIG!!! Paulo
  24. You guys are starting to make this sounds like an OS from certain company called "M" from you know who.... I would guess they would try to improve the QC problems...and PERHAPS smaller packaging?! Paulo
  25. Okay, all we need is the following: Graham walking in the front of our group with the Skull Squadron banner (a la tour guide) of if he prefers, he can hold a Macross Logo banner, and we tot along behing him like a boys scout thing.... And the last person of the group holding a blaster portable stereo playing Macross songs...like Shau Pai Long?! And we wear Macross T-shirts with the following written: We came to shop, to eat, and to conquer! Paulo
