Whats your favorite dirty pleasure Scifi flick?
VF-1S Alpha replied to GobotFool's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Galaxina! Anyone seen this movie? It's my vote for the worst story, but I can't complain about her... -
Likewise, I cannot go to the shopathon in HK because of my stupid customer visit during this week, and they are staying over the weekend for sightseeing (and waiting for me to entertain them) Any chance I can paypal or wire transfer the money to someone to get my Polo shirts? Pleasse? I know I might be hated, listed on black list, but being an employee at a traditional asian company sucks! Guys, Graham, Sebastian, Guppy and Co. have fun! Happy New Year to you guys!

So when are you taking orders? Great engraving! That it is a nice idea to display info on the toys!

Yes she is Japanese...we met in America. Wait a minute...how did you know I drink alot of Coke? Nothing Hentai in the house. Small child you know (Plus on on the way). I am pretty sure she gets it from the way most Japanese people feel about Americans. The general belief is that all Americans are that way based on our Porn Industry and how they see "Americans" act on TV and in the Movies. Although I don't think the Japanese have much to say about considering what the feel is morally acceptable and what is not. Basically anything goes as long as it is semi-censored and it is without an age limit. But your guess is as good as mine. I was just looking...you have like 3 halves....#1 and #2 and yourself? Rob MN Well I am in Taiwan, but I came from LA, CA. When I was single, many girls would love to get to know me because they said I would be more "experienced", "gentle" , and "open". And I asked why, they said, "you are from USA, where they are so open about sex!" Next thing I knew, (after a couple of years) I married a Taiwanese girl, now with one son, and another to come... In regard to coke, that's the only thing I would drink when I arrived in Taiwan, didn't dare to drink any other stuff...so I just made a lucky guess there!
-
I really don't know. However she did say one time that the only thing Americans think about is Sex. Which is completely not true....I also think about Anime and um....ah......lotsa other stuff too. I guess I shouldn't complain, she did try. And I should be grateful for that. And she doesn't get mad when I buy toys for myself, most of the time. Jesse - You are one lucky guy. Then I am assuming your wife is japanese? Here in Asia, most asians think that Americans are very open minded, and that they have sex like they drink coke/pepsi? Or perhaps you have too many hentai stuffed somewhere in your house?! JK!
-
My other half (#1) doesn't buy me toys, but she pays for it when I "beg" her...Well, she takes care of my checking account! My other half (#2) buys it to me, if she knows which one I like, (I got my VF-1J Super) from her as Christmas gift!

DYRL flight suits and helmets (and other stuff...)
VF-1S Alpha replied to Montarvillois's topic in Movies and TV Series
In the DYRL that serves as Beacon (Hey, I am here!) if you were ejected into space. It's lights up for rescuers to find you easily. Also I would guess there's a secondary back up beacon/battery/oxygen in the shoulders besides the backpack unit. Double assurance for survival. Also, Is there a reason for the long lid over the pilot's eyes, wouldn't this impair the range of sight of the pilot ?. I noticed small laser tracking devices in Macross zero that are located in the lid to give heads up missile tracking capability to Roy, was there any reference to such a system in DYRL or the tv series that would explain such a long lid ?. In Macross Plus that "lid" is clear, so the pilot can see through. I would assume that "lid" would be also clear or dark tinted accordingly to situations, as to provide anti glare from sun or laser, or missiles explosions nearby (in DYRL the big missiles were supposed to be mini nukes?) On another thought, that must be a crushing "zone" like an airbag on the car, if the pilot hit the head on the panel, that lid would absorb the impact? On more thing, when in battroid mode, what kind of controls are used to provide precise arm and leg movement. The joystick between to pilot's legs wouldn't be too appropriate to provide such control so is there a relation between the (?) sensors on the pilot's suit and battroid movement control ?. I think that's where they conveniently use the "protoculture" theory? Maybe the mecha and machine integrates into one?! Boy, I know this is a lot to ask but really, I've been asking myself the question for a while so please Macross gurus, enlighten me. Thanks -
USD147.00 here in Taiwan for a VF-1J with Fast Pack. That's my own Christmas present...now I have to convince my wife about this "own" present that I got myself...and the Hikaru VF-1S, and other Action Figures under the tree... Merry Christmas everyone! happy New Year!
-
Merry Christmas to all! May your Christmas be replete with Macross Toys, Joy, Happiness, and more cash bonuses! And that in 2004 we may have a year full of Macross Toys of our dreams! And for Graham, Shawn & Co. my most sincere thanks for all the time, help, dedication, understanding, and giving us a life! Life is not all about work, it's about MACROSS! Hohohohohoho.... Paulo

Guys, I don't want to spoil anything.... Latest news about the first SARS case in Taiwan, and the quarantine in Singapore...you guys somewhere in East Asia better be careful! Also there's the flu that's been hitting Europe, US, and Asia now...so do be careful! If SARS hits again, it will be very problematic to travel around, which means maybe my customer will cancel their visit, so I can join the shopathon! Paulo

Awfully hard to play, each time you play it seems depends more on luck than AI. It seems the AI varies alot each time you play. Well, that's my opinion. Graphic wise, I like it....it has a feel of WING COMMANDER, and a mixture of Macross into it. But I like "flying" the VIPER around, and listening to the special effects, maybe just a nostalgia of the old times in the 80s. So if you got your Viper Helmet, put it on, and play the game!!!

I think that is stage 9? Because I already past that.... I am confronting Boldoza fleet, or it's main ship? In the background plays Minmey's song... Thanks!
-
Er, finally got some free time to play the game. I hope I am not spoiling anything by asking for some help? I am on the Prometheus Stage 10, I can't figure out what is the main objective of the game, I keep failing it. Can someone please give me a hint? I keep trying flying into the Baldoza ships, but then I am out of the "area". Many thanks! Also, does the head laser has any usage at all? Paulo

I am 35 currently.... How time flies....

Seems like everything revolves around chicks now? Well, like Graham, I will probably will have to wait until comes out on DVD, as here in Asia we don't get the Sci-Fi channel. Still, even most people said it is bad, I would like to take a peek into it, I bought the PS2 game, and saw the mini series trailer...couldn't see any any "cylons" in the old format as I knew before... What ever happened with the live action film of Macross that they were supposed to do? Paulo

Well, I think I had some explanation to give out... Just had a bad flu, and maybe it was the medication I was taking...so my mind wasn't working that well...so my deepest apologies for making everyone confused! My point is that my mind is clear now: 1. I love TOMCATS (F-14), and that is why I love VF-1 from Macross! That's why I was sad to see the F-14 phasing out...and thanks to many members explanations about the background, now I understand the real situation. 2. I love the 1/48 line of VF-1, and by no means, Yamato can keep doing the variants of it, or any other line of Macross VFs of any other series if they ever do it. So no criticism from my part. 3. And regarding Kawamori, I just wanted to point out that I loved his "next step/generation" of our current aircrafts, from all the VFs of the Macross series. So, I got flamed, burned, and criticized! Thank you and I deserved totally!

My wife is also 156cms tall...and she is tagging along during this trip... And I am getting her the t-shirt also...so maybe I was thinking if the wives get too bored with our trip, they could go shopping on their own, and leave us alone for our "shopping, beer, and ...." Guys, don't forget to bring a digital camera for pictures of our awesome group trip... Paulo

As everyone knows (or if you don't know yet) our beloved VF-1 has a very "close" resemblance to the Navy fighter F-14. Okay, remember the TOP GUN Movie opening scenes? Remember Macross opening scenes? Does that bring good memories? And as news are going now, the F-14's are being decommissioned all over the world, the latest was from Japan base and are being replaced with "newer" F-18s. Now my point is that Kawamori really hit the spot with the "timeline" of Macross mechas (VFs), especially with the YF-19 and YF-21, and now and our real time line, we have the F-22 Raptor. So maybe, just maybe I hope that Yamato will do the Macross Plus 1/48 line... Look for a "retired" F-14 near your aerospace museum anytime now... And moderator, I am sorry if this is wrong topic to post! Paulo

1. Graham, could you please PM me your cellphone number? thanks? 2. And where in HK can I get a temporary SIM card? Please provide details? How much? 3. Currently, I prefer to stay at the YWCA, it's quite cheap, so what I save can be going to the Toys. It's only 37bucks for single/twin. YWCA 4. To confirm, I would need a Large Black, a small black, and a Large blue/white? Sorry, kind forgot the colors available. Looking forward in seeing you all! Paulo
-
Could anyone who is going tell us where you will be staying? Maybe we could get better rate if we stay together? Second, if Graham or someone could PM us their contact cellphone so we can keep in touch while arriving in HK? Because it might be hard to keep in touch by electronic means while in HK. Thanks! Paulo

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HOPE YOU GET ALL YOUR WISHES COME TRUE! (about Macross Stuff!) hahahaha Paulo
-
<_< I am 35 and turning 36 in June.... Life doesn't seem to get easier as you get older.... Perhaps my son will put someday my collection of Macross on garage sale for a dollar each! (when I am not around anymore) So make sure you guys show up at the garage sale! hahahaha Paulo
-
Nah! We better use the money to pay some of the drinks we will get in the Shopathon. We will need all our founds!! Wait I thought the booze was cheap in HK, and the expensive things were the girls and Macross Toys? Anyway, just make sure we can get back to hotel in one piece after drinking so much! After all, you don't want to wake up the next day and wonder how come instead of Macross toys laying by your side in the bed, you got er, another "toy" (use imagination here guys)! Anyway, life goes on! Paulo
-
Graham?! Any news on the quotation of the shirts? I was also thinking, please bear with me, maybe the extra shirts we have, we could sell them on the Macross World Forums or Ebay?, and whatever little profit there is, could go as "donations" to Shawn to "maintain" the server for this great site! What you and the rest think? Paulo
-
You got support here in the MW! Come back for support of any kind! We hope you get back on your feet soon! BTW, you really need to go back to get your investments (Macross toys) and of course other stuff back! Paulo
