Nice one G72. How did you go with the weak hip joints? Did you fashion something yourself that was stronger? I like what you have done with that old Arii kit, now people will be scrabbling for the few of these that are left. If you had to rate this project from 1 (opening a box and hey presto all done) to 10 (sculpting your one kit from a blob of putty) what would it come in as? Cheers, Berttt

honneamise - The white is Mr Base white sprayed on with an airbrush, followed by Tamiya flat white. Don't be fooled by these fuzzy pictures, there is plenty of faults in it's finish. Gundamhead - I removed the raised verniers and countersunk in some Wave items. HWRII - Thanks for the tip on chart tape, as you can see it worked a treat! Thanks for the comliments guys, I appreciate it. Cheers, Berttt

I really should get some practice in with this new digital camera, fuzzy pictures don't tell much of a story.

Another quick update. More more warning and maintenance decals as well as the yellow/black hazard markings.

I say take as much time as possible in gettng this kit out there. Man my wallet has taken such a pounding lately that a breather would be nice. Berttt

I just like what he did with the rifleman. That looked awesome! I stumbled across it whilst looking for images or build ups of the 1/12 mospeada ride armour. Man there is not much out there. Berttt

Just ignore all the references to Row-Bow-tek http://forums.3dluvr.com/showthread.php?t=111&page=1&pp=10

If there isn't you could just extropolate one using the Regult as a basis.

Hey HWR, can you give me a bit more detail on the chart tape you mentioned? I like the idea of the gold, I have some humbrol metalcote that comes up really shiny, if I use that with a clear yellow over the top I should ge the right effect. The Bug has a lot more decals and weathering to go. I may be able to finish it in a week or so. Enjoy. Berttt

The kite is a hasegawa item and the numbers are left over kit decals. I was too lazy to piant them on as I intended. The "P" is a 6 as found in a Hase VF-1 kit, with part of the tail cut off.

Quick update. The base coat is on. I recently lost the red out of my monitor so if the pics look too bright or the colour is off that's why.

I agree, that mould is definitely a slightly updated Halcyon mould. I have had two of them and the similarities are defineitely there. looks like they have updated the big weapon pods to open and close, and if you look closely there is now an interior for the APC/cargo bay. By the looks of it there is plenty of ribbing detail in there. I have been after a 72nd scale Dropship forever, but thanks to tragic events I have lost two before I could complete them. Looks like I will be getting one + APC and doing a little customising. Berttt

Nice work, I did one of these a while ago. Where did the landing gear come from? Berttt

Well I have almost finished filling and sanding. No pics yet, but I wil have after I finish priming. After having a think about colours I decided do do it in the standard white, but with a variation; the large lower arm will be in yellow and black hazard lines, an the light bar on the top will be done in orange. I have collected my markings for the little bugger: Kite will be supplied by left over Hasegawa item Numbers and letters will be painted on via stencil Placards from various left over decals from other aircraft kits. Also what is the policy regarding non macross kits in this section, I know we have had various Gundam kits here, as well as Yukikazi but what is the official line? Cheers, Berttt

Well as a lead up to assembling the Atmosheric Booster I thought I would tackle this little guy. As you can see I am in the initial stages of filling all those little bubbles and casting imperfections. There is quite a lot do do as there is no part without something to be filled. My weapon of choice for this task is Mr Surfacer 500 and 1000. Will up date when I have finished filling and sanding.

I am a bit of a noob when it comes to toys, so can anyone tell me if the Gakken toys are the smae scale as the Imai 1/12 kit? If so I woupd like to use this hand mod. Berttt
-
I think 1/72 destroids are covered, except for the Missile Phalanx, which could maybe be done as a conversion for the Imai kits, or not so you don't have to scavenge parts from a perfectly good kit.

1/48 is a toy scale?! Holy crap, all these years and I never knew that Tanmen's 1/48 Ultimate Strike Valkyrie was toy scale. Guess someone should've told IMAI that their 1/48 Legioss kit was also toy scale. Ironically enough, the two 1/48 VF-1 and Legioss toys that did come out (from Yamato and Toynami respectively) came out after the model kits. So is it really a toy scale or model scale? Kids these days... And don't worry, no one's hijacking this thread. If you've been around here as long as some of us, you'll know when a thread's been hijacked. OK firstly I guess this proves that if someone wants to argue they will read anything you say and take offense. Let's face it, most people that want a 1/48 Regult do so to put next to their Yamato, not their 1/48 Legios although there are a odd few that will have a UD Valk. So in that regard yes 1/48 is a toy scale FOR MACROSS as most of the decent kits out there (including resin and resin conversions) are in 72nd scale. And don't be fooled by my post count I've been around for a while. Why is it that we never have any trouble in the model section until a toy dude comes along? Berttt

It's funny you said that G72, you come accross as a cranky man sometimes. Berttt

Don't worry toy dudes, I'm not picking on ya! Not enough Macross fans in the world to go pissing of the guys here. Just don't try and hijack a MODEL KIT thread and try and get a Regult built for a TOY scale! I mean you don't see us over at the 1/48 two seater conversion thread trying to get a 1/72 scale battroid conversion out of it do ya? Oh and buy up as much of MN and the Captain's stuff as you can, we got to support them, I mean 1/72 is close enough ti 1/60 scale isn't it? Other than than it's all good. Cheers and Beers, Berttt

Said it once and I'll say it again - toy collectors to the back of the line. 1/72 scale Cap if you please. Berttt
