Good to know. Anyone know how tall one of these 1/100's stands?
-
Thanks Mechamaster, I ran the site through Babelfish, and was just hoping someone might be able to shed some light on the Bandai 1/100's. Until I saw that site, I had no idea that the Bandia ones were different to those awful Arii ones. I have been thinking that since the 1/100 regults and destroids are a hell of a lot cheaper than the 1/72 scale examples, that I might pick them up, along with the SMT Monster and have a representitive Valk or two in that scale. Then have all the Haseagwa Valks and anything else I can snavel in 1/72 scale displayed on a different shelf. Problem was finding a decent 1/100 scale VF-1. I think with a little work these Bandia ones will fit the bill. Berttt

I stumbled across this today while surfing. It's not a bad kit and would like to know more. Do any of you out there have any info on it? http://homepage1.nifty.com/balonpark/html/vf1sbr.htm Cheers, Berttt

Looking good man, what did you use for the round bits on the bottom of the head?

HWR, I purchased some resin replacement Starfury guns and the "Flying Tigers" decal set from the Starship Modeller Store.

Heres a couple of crappy photos of my Revell (old Monagram mold) 1/48 scale Hind D. This bad boy has been on the bench since January 2003 and is still not finished. I seem to haven issue with actually putting those finishing touches on models. And a couple of my 1/72 scale Babylon 5 StarFury. I have rescribed it in fictional detail. Really this is just a scribing excercise as I have never done it before. Cheers, Berttt

You know your'e right, I had forgotten about that multiple wheel concept. Will have to remember it for next time.

Nice work on the Rexx HWR! I have had this in mind myself for a while. Damn beaten to the punch! Berttt

Hey Guys, The shading on the Valk seems a little dark becasue I had to adjust the photos a bit becasue of my dodgy photography, it's really not that dark when you're looking at it. HWR, I have seen the 35 scale Hind, but I daren't walk that path. Choppers are the only thing I model in 1/48 any more, and if I start with those Trumpeter brutes I'm doomed! They are nice though......... As for my job, I'm in the RAAF. My unit deployed on excercise leaving about four of us behind as a caretaker group for the hangar. No NCO's, no Officers, just a few of whose sole job was to keep out of trouble. Jipe, those wheels are from a 1/72 scale 3/4 ton truck, I wanted it to look like a buggy, I didn't think the UN would resurenct the design of the shwimmenwagen for use in the 21st century. Cheers, Berttt

Very slick work man. It always has me baffled how people can make models from scratch like that. Cheers, Berttt

In my Spiderbug thread I mentioned that I had a few weeks at work to spend time on some models. Here are some of the kits I was working on. None of them are any where near finished yet. But the time spent on the clock certainly speeded things up a bit. First up is a Hasegawa VF-1J. This one will be in RAAF markings for No. 75 Squadron. I've bashed the kit so that the flaps and slats are deployed. When finished it will be displayed wheels up with a couple of poles in the exhaust mounted on a lexan pane. Next up is another Hasegawa Valk with the Angry Monkey Models Atmoshperic Booster conversion. The booster is dry fitted and will be worked on when I finish the 75SQN bird. I was never really happy with the CF dio and plan to try again, but I need some vehicles to accompany it. Since Sci-fi vehicles in 1/72 are rare, I'm jazzing up a couple of contemporary ones. A bashed French VAB 4x4. A bashed Schwimmenwagen. There are a couple of others as well, tow other Haseagawa valks that I haven't decided on schemes for, a 1/72 Starfury and a 1/48 Hind D. Cheers, Berttt

Nice tank Bhop. If I may, how do you get all those cool looking scratches? They look great, and it is something I would like to try on my Spiderbug. Cheers, Berttt

Let us know how much they cost when you get them. I was always curious abouyt that. Berttt

Well the Bug has been on hold for a while because I have been busy. I know what you mean HWR, I will be trying for that "beat up" look, but will avoid the "badly painted model" look that can sometimes occur whe trying this. The nose art is from Starship Modellers cheesecake, I thought it would make a nice touch. GH: I cut off the raised verniers and countersuck some Wave items. I am surprised n one has built one of these yet. Thanks for all the props guys, will try and get it finished soon. On a side note, my unit has deployed for a few weeks and I find that I am playing cartaker for the hangar, so I have started the Massive Madness Macross Manufacturing project. 7 Hasegawa kits lay on the bench at work as I mass produce parts for assembly. Hope I can gat most of it done before the blokes get back! Berttt

Her HWR, lol, my canopy is split in two right down the middle. I am hoping to have a crack at this vac forming game, if that works out I won't need the canopy. Funny thing is mine broke while I was building my DYRL? Max Super. I pulled a canopy out of another kit to get me through. Cheers, Berttt
-
Hey Gabe, I am in need of canopy myself and am going to give vac forming a whirl. If it works out I'll form one and sent it over to you. May not happen for a few weeks yet, as I have to finish the spiderbug. Berttt

The best thing about this is that you can get hold of a 1/72 Ghost and build it up separate from the valk. Personally, it this idea seems a bit crappy (the concept not the model). Berttt

Quality work as always G72. Berttt
