Man I didn't realise that those dinky little 1/200's could come out so well.

Dragon should do destroids. Anyone seen their latest 1/72 scale AFV efforts? Holy Cow! is all I can say.
-
Good work man. That Kit actually looks half decent there. Normally I would say you can't polish a turd but you have proved me wrong Cheers, Berttt

That is one sweet chunk of putty. You are a bad man for making me want this

NEVERRRR!!!

Yeah just checked it OO is 1/76. Not exact but pretty close depending on what you are doing.

I don't think there is so much emnity towards "Toy Guys". Personally I just think the complainers probably ruined it for the rest who may have benefitted from other conversions by John. The same thing may have happened from "model guys" had we complained in public without getting the good gen, and generally made life awful, but it didn't. All this started when some toy blokes chimed in on a 1/72 scale kit interest thread and tried to high jack it into a 1/48-1/60 project.

I think 1/76 is actualy HO or something. Which I think is a railroad scale.
-
Seems that some of the toy folks get a bit shitty if GK conversions don't arrive looking like they were punched out of yamato moulds.

Quick update. All I have to do now is finish weathering the launch arm, attach the amrs wing and legs, fit the cockpit ans she's done. Cheers, Berttt

Phase 1: Find old tin of Airfix Olive Green in drawer and airbrush on model Phase 2: Realise that your normal oil paint/thinner wash will ruin enamel paint Phase 3: Pull out some precious remaining hair Phase 4: Search around for artists spreader medium and Reaper paints black wash. Phase 5: Apply wash Phase 6: Drybrush acrylic Reaper Troll Flesh all over the place Hope that helps. Cheers, Berttt

Chewy the trick is to use as many of WM's tips as you can (as well as others) I have plagerised many of thses techniques to get the result you see. Cheers, Berttt

Looking good there LSTO.

A quick update pic. The weather here is overcast so it is a bit hard for me (an amatuer) to get suitable shots. Initial weathering is done. Decals are next before further weathering and finishing the cockpit. Cheers, Berttt

I was having an ordinary day until I read that. Cheers Gundamhead! LOL celebrity Status indeed I finally managed to get back to the booster on the weekend, some touchups and weathering ahve been done, and now it's time for decals before some final weathering. The Bug hasn't prgressed much, but now that you have mentioned I will probably spend the hour or so needed to finish it off. Thanks for asking GH. Berttt 347729[/snapback]

Thanks for the build up WM. Nice work man, your almost celebrity like status continues to grow amongst the Macross modellers here Cheers, Berttt

Nice effort, however the article doesn't have the right tone that a piece of technical literature should. It is way too subjective and casual. Technical journalism should be more formal as opposed to the casual approach used above. I realize this is for some sort of game, but the style really made it hard for me to read as appeared to be written by an amateur, an enthusiastic one for sure, but still an amateur.

Now that all the things that have been getting the in the way of my version of this project, I can start to post some more updates. ATM I am just fixing a few spots with the white paint on the Valkyrie itself, then I will be ready for weathering. Cheers, Berttt

No for Ido. I just wanted to know what acrylics he was using, as they shouldn't take a week to dry.
-
What the hell type of acrylics are you using man! If the acrylics I airbrush on aren't dry inside of 5-10 mins then something has gone terribly wrong. On the other hand I find enamels to be a pain to clean and they smell up my paint station. Acrylics are the way to go, when your done you can dunk the airbrush in a bucket of water and run it for a few mins, shake off the excess and your good to go for your next colour.

Cheers mate, that's all I needed to know
