  1. Pardon my ignorance, but if I were to donate...which organization(s) should I donate to that would have an immediate impact with regards to relief/aid? The Red Cross...Salvation Army? I've heard and read about donation scams and I'd hate for my donation not to make it to those in Japan.
  2. It's a dark anime; don't let the first couple of episodes fool you. I've watched 9 of the episodes and it's a pretty good thus far.
  3. As it was recommended to me by a member on this board, I highly recommend Katanagatari. The story and animation are superb. Edit: I also highly recommend Toki o Kakeru Shōjo (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time). It came out in 2006 but it's definitely worth a watch.
  4. I ordered both books a while back and they should be arriving at my doorsteps tomorrow! I'm very excited to look at both. On a side note, anyone know of a good way to scan these images w/o ruining the book binding or what have ya? I ask cause I'd like to add these images on to my computer to use as desktop backgrounds. Cheers!
  5. And if you guys want to talk Metal: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=ebvmS9Mr26g http://www.youtube.c...h?v=dhGK1z36veo Megadeth "Angry Again" Now how's that for Metal? I've seen these guys live and they are incredible to say the least.
  6. Hello, I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum for this but I was hoping someone would be able to kindly help me. I'm trying to locate the version of "September" by Earth, Wind, & Fire that has the following lyrics in it: "It was a shiny day That made me feel this way Oh darling, sweet sweet darling Yeah!" I've heard it in dance remixes but I was hoping to locate the original version, if such a version exists. I've tried google and nothing comes up at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  7. I've watched episodes 1-10 so far and I must say I LOVE the show! It's easily one of my all time favorites. Thanks again for recommending it! I still need to watch the last two episodes but I'm working on that. I've been trying to find a place to buy the Blurays but all I keep finding are the "limited editions" which are going for $83 each. I'm not exactly looking forward to spending about $1000 for 12 Bluray discs. Would you, or anyone else for that matter, know of a place where I could buy the normal edition Blurays for this show? I've tried Amazon, YesAsia, Play-Asia, eBay, and CDJapan with no luck. I'm really hoping the limited editions aren't my only option (DVDs are out of the question)!
  8. Sorry to bring an old thread back from the grave, but I've been searching the forums meticulously and this is all I could find. ...Have I missed the chance to purchase this boxset? Is there any place to purchase these DVDs? Am I forever screwed, having the old R2 (assuming I can find it) and Mangle versions as my only options? eBay comes up with nothing, and Amazon has one copy that's used...and I'm not sure how trust worthy the seller is. I think I might cry....
  9. If you haven't already tried this, go into Display Settings, click on the Appearance tab, and then click on the Advanced button. From there, if I remember correctly, you should be able to adjust the font sizes for the windows/title bars, etc. You may also want to try lowering the resolution to increase font size across the board if messing with the dpi setting doesn't help. Those are the only methods I know of to increase font size all around. Also, I'm still not entirely sure what you mean when you say things are locked, sorry. I hope this helps. Edit: Grammar
  10. It's very sad to see him go. Shirley, he'll be missed. R.I.P.
  11. As much as I love Macross II, nothing beats the original. I wouldn't consider this a "funny story" per say, but aside from the Macross Saga, Macross II was my first real introduction to the Macross world - before Macross II, I only knew of Robotech. About fourteen years ago I was looking at the anime section at my local Blockbuster and saw Macross II sitting there on the shelf. I recognized the name "Macross" and decided to rent it to see what it was all about. Ever since then I've been in love with Macross II and Macross. Macross II even lead me to AFM which lead me to this great community here on MW. 1) SDF Macross 1.5) Macross II 2) Macross DYRL? / FB 2012 3) Macross Plus 4) Macross Frontier 5) Macross Zero 6) Macross 7
  12. Quick question regarding the 25th Anniversary Edition VF-1. Is the nose cone supposed to come off pretty easily? Thanks.
  13. I was reading the thread about the new Judge Dredd movie that might be coming out and came across this in one of the links. It's being labeled as a "real lightsaber." Is this old news? I found it interesting so I figured I'd post it in here.
  14. That's awesome. "is this LOVE?" is definitely one of my all time favorites. Sadly though, I don't believe they ever used "is this LOVE?" in the TV series. I don't recall hearing "Twinkle" in the TV series either. Come to think of it, there's a track titled "Soko ni Aru no ga Mirai dakara" on the Macross II OST Volume 2 CD that never appeared in the show either. You'd think that these producers would use these tracks that they paid good money for...no?
  15. Has anyone else heard these two versions of "Tenshi no Enogu" before? First one sounds like it's from a concert.
  16. Amazing...simply amazing!!! I wish I could play the guitar and that song.
  17. Are there any songs/instrumentals that you guys would like to hear in the second movie? I'd love it if they manage to incorporate "is this LOVE?" in the second movie.
  18. From my understanding, the performance increase/decrease is negligible when it comes to DRAM timing. I use 4GB of 4-4-4-12 PC2-6400 Patriot Memory on my Windows 7 64-bit machine and I don't notice any performance issues. I can't recall a time where my rig used more than 3GB...and I tend to multi-task a lot with a bunch of programs open and running at once. That goes without saying that I would love to add more RAM...it just isn't that practical right now for me, but I digress. I would go the cheapest route by all means.
  19. If the live action Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat movies are any kind of indication of what to expect...I'll be passing. Edit: I guess it'd help if I read the rest of the thread first and looked at the posted dates....
  20. From what I've been told, MoH Tier 1 is more of a tactical shooter compared to the latest CoD iterations. And speaking of CoD... CoD Black Ops actually has 3D TV support. I can't imagine them making 3D-TV-only games when the large majority seem to still be using 2D-TVs...especially in this economy. By the way, which weapons do you speak of, Gaijin?
  21. Personally, I think Firefox is the best; mainly because of the great add-ons for it. Adblock Plus (gotta love not seeing advertisments), All Glass (gives Firefox that Areo look), and NoScript (I'm paranoid).
  22. After having read your comment I decided to watch episode 20 again - I must say it's still a tearjerker. I'm not too convinced Michel will die in the next movie. I don't know about the rest of you, but it seems to me that scene in the movie, where Michel's valk is blown to bits and Klan goes looking for him, is the equivalent of what we saw in episode 20...just with a twist. Though I must say, that whole scene in the movie isn't much of a tearjerker - at least not like it still is in episode 20. I can't imagine them pulling off another scene like that in the next movie where he actually dies. I think the impact would be much less felt. Who knows though...maybe I'm dead wrong.
