  1. Actually, the emulator's had tired of singing the song of destruction, and Ingus started shooting at them, naturally they'd be receptive to anything positive after that . Not the Macross that came before, but what about the newer stuff that would suck? So I doubt it was culture shock. The fact that Macross II had Haruhiko Mikimoto was enough for me. So Macross II is an exception. But anything w/o either Mikimoto or Kawamori wouldn't be the same...have to have one of the two if not both.
  2. Macross II was another example of how the entire point in Macross can be missed. The Macross didn't defeat the Zentradi because it had music. It was the emotions awakened in the spies that went to investigate the ship, and in turn their sharing those emotions with fellow crew, and so on, and so forth, that caused Britai's fleet to coup & decide to protect human culture. Merely singing at them would have only caused the temporary effect of "culture shock." That shock wears off quickly though, and Earth & the Macross would have been quickly destroyed. I disagree with that. When Ishtar sang "Mou Ichido-Love You" the emulators heard her song, were moved, and stopped singing for Ingus. I'm not sure if they sung a different song afterwards (while Ingus punished them for not singing for him), but they all stopped attacking the UN and turned on Ingus because the emulators/Marduk were moved by her song. And Macross w/o Shoji Kawamori would suck, but that wouldn't change my love for Macross. Edited for grammar
  3. So I'm hearing mixed reviews.... I didn't know that the film was released years ago. I'll probably go see it non the less.... Thanks for the info all.
  4. I have yet to see this movie, but am looking forward to it. Have either of you seen it yet? If so, what are your thoughts/opinions on it? Thanks. Edit: I just realized this movie doesn't come out till the 27th or so...but it seems a few ppl have seen it...so I don't know what the deal is.
  5. Just exactly how many episodes are there?
  6. I too HOPE it spawns a better sequel. I still want to see more carnage, more gore, and complete and utter chaos!!!
  7. This brings back memories of AFM.
  8. Did you notice he has a Macross II avatar? And that has anything do with this cause why? Lets say you like Macross 7 and I say "Notice how he likes Macross 7?" Wtf would that have to do with anything?! Some ppl.... On a side note, I just saw AvP. It wasn't what I expected...but it DIDN'T suck.... All I have left to say about the movie is: meh.
  9. ....I hate those who say "This movie is going to suck" when they haven't seen the entire movie. FFS. You know what? Macross Zero episode 5 is going to suck!!! I can already tell! And so is every other film that's ever going to hit the market!!!!!!
  10. A matter of fact. You may like Macross II, but that does not make it a good Macross sequel. ....And you may not like Macross II, but that doesn't make it a bad Macross sequel....
  11. Hah, you got me there. $ Not even visuals of Wendy without panties will save Macross II. lol...Macross II still owns...doesn't need any saving in my mind.
  12. That's about the dumbest and most retarded thing I've ever heard. I mean....you'd have to be f'ing retarded to do something so horrible such as that over a stupid console. You've lost a video game console? So what?! It's not like it's the end of the world! Not like it's going to set you back years and years from buying another XBox....geez. People these days...scary sh*t. I hope those f*cks get life or death. Edit: Is sh*t automatically changed to poo or something? Or did a mod change that for me?
  13. I once burned a copy of my Macross II OST Vol. 2 CD for a friend who loves Classical/Easy Listening. When he heard some of the tracks, that I love so much, it didn't impact him at all that much...unlike myself when I saw II. I guess what I'm saying is that the visuals behind the music gave a greater impact. ...And what I'm getting at here is that don't you think Kawamori would have some say as to what is put in HIS creation? Why put songs in there that aren't all that meaningful? The way you make it sound, he doesn't want anything to do with II. If it were my creation that I loved so much, I'd have final say on every single thing. ...Tis my logic on it all. But if you say he said he hasn't seen II even after 7, I'll take your word for I suppose. And I do have to agree with ya in that the best thing about II are the songs. Then I'd have to go with the story/plot/love trianlge/characters/mecha/etc.
  14. Nope, Kawamori claims to have never seen Macross II. Besides which, nothing in Macross II holds anything in common with Sound Energy. The emulator's controlled their Zentradi through trained responses. They could have easily just used c olored lights, or ringing bell's to trigger the same responses. Spiritia in Macross requires actual emotion from one person invoking emotion in another. This is a concept which has been around since Macross TV, most likely derived from Kawamori's Gundam fandom, specifically Tomino's Newtypes reaching out to each other with an advanced understanding And amazingly we find Macross II songs in Macross 7. I doubt he hasn't seen it.
  15. The part where Silvie confronts Hibiki out in the rain, and the Macross fired...I always figured/thought it was in reaction to the Marduk reaching Mars. I'm not sure what the distance on the main canon is... And I'm sure the Macross was guarded.... I'm just guessing Hibiki and Ishtar snuck in somehow. I mean....if it wasn't guarded...don't you think there would be a lot more ppl seen on the Macross...bums and the likes? Hehe. I think you're thinking about it way harder than the producers ever did. I'm just making assumptions, based on what I saw....

  17. I don't get to say this very often...so I'm gonna say it now while I have a chance. Macross II 0wnz!
  18. What are the specs if you don't mind me asking? And I'll probably get the game myself.
  19. I just hope the movie starts off right where the first one ended.
  20. That's how I got to eventually love Macross II as much as I do now.
  21. I've always found it best in life to keep an open mind and form your own opinions on something by actually experiencing it first hand. It's never a good idea to rely too much on or let yourself be influenced too much by other peoples views. Everyone is different and has their own likes and dislikes Mind you, I've never been one to mindlessly like something just because the Sheeple (AKA the herd) think it's trendy, in, hip (or whatever the current buzz word is). Graham Well, I'm not going so much on other ppl's views. I misworded the first sentence, sry. More like I'm going on what I've read about M7 (story/plot/etc.) And to your last sentence, ditto.
  22. I wasn't aware that it was an annoyance of any kind. And who would care enough to get upset if someone else expressed their thoughts/opinions/views on a Macross title? I have yet to see anything from 7. ....And from what I've heard over the years, I'm not exactly eager to see it. Then again, the majority don't like Macross II all that much and I love it...so who knows.
  23. They have Bloody Roar 4 for the PS2 @ $5....do you suppose they would have Bloody Roar Extreme for the XBox at $5 as well?
