I've been using Yahoo for the past couple years now. However, on another MB, I'm going to be using ESPN's FFL. But I don't know if there are sites you guys prefer over the other. So...who do you guys all want to play through? Yahoo? ESPN? Insert-Favorite-FFL-Site? (Perferably free)

You have a team made up of players from different NFL teams. The owners of these teams have matches against each other, to see who will gain the most fantasy points. The better your players do (the ones you picked) the better you do. There's generally 10 "owners"/teams.

The NFL pre-season starts in a little over a week; with the season starting in September. Would either of you be interested in starting a fantasy football league on Yahoo/ESPN/Insert-Favorite-FFL-Site?

Well, I can only speak for myself and those around me, but both my Playstation and my PS2 both still work like clockwork. The two or three friends I have that I borrow and trade games have fully working original PS2's and that's what I'm basing my opinion on. I can't really call it shoddy if it's working like a champ after 3 years of ownership, can I? Or should I believe you instead of looking at my own entertainment system? I don't even know anybody who's PS2 is broken except for my cousin who's kid poured a Coke on it. I've got a friend with an X-Box, it seems like a fine game system. The only game I like that PS doesn't have that we played is Halo and Halo 2. I don't have anything against it, I just don't see any reason to buy an X-Box instead of what I already have. I have looked at the games and I'll probably buy a Playstation. No offense to the X-Box, but there will be more titles for the Playstation (as there are now) and all of the titles I enjoy now will definitely be on PS3... so why on Earth would I switch? Because you say I should? That's goofy. It seems like you're very into your video games and very much into your X-Box. Good for you. I don't have any problem with that. But I think it's a bit silly to runaround calling people who buy Playstations "fanboys like MGREXXX". But don't assume that every consumer hasn't looked into what they're buying (or is a blinded idiot) just because they aren't doing what you are. Live and let live. This has got to be one of the stupidest things I've ever read on MarossWorld. How is it stupid? It'd be more accurate as to how many people own the gaming system. Hell, if MS and Nintendo did what Sony did, I'm sure their sales would be through the roof too with all the consoles they sold, but Nintendo and MS made a better product in the end. It's bullshit that one should have to buy a second, let a lone a third, fourth, or fifth unit just cause the first/second/third one failed. I mean, come the f*ck on. Way to lead the market with POS quality consoles, GG. I love my PSX, it still runs perfectly, but with all the bs problems with the PS2...f*ck em. I pray Sony doesn't make a bigger ass out of themselves and do things right this time by making a dependable system.

Meh, I have a Pentium 4 2.8GHz w/HTT in my computer at home and it does the job I suppose. But I'm upgrading to an Athlon 64 3200+ with the Venice core in it soon. As far as I'm concerned, it's all about the 64-bit processing.

Free downloadable games is such a bad idea and its going to spell doom for Nintendo. I doubt that. It's only going to be the NES, SNES, and N64 games...that's the rumor anyway. So it's not like they're going to be giving away free GameCube and Revolution games. Hell...if you really can d/l N64 on that thing, I'll definitely be d/l-ing Conker's Bad Furday.

I hope Rare has secretely cancelled Perfect Dark and is hard at work developing a sequel to Taboo. Forget both of those games. I wouldn't mind seeing them remake Conker again for the 360! (It's probably the only game franchise that I like by Rare.) Actually, one is coming out for the X-Box next month. Yea, and I'm stoked! I was wanting to order a copy of the demo, but I decided not to for some reason. I would order one now, but I'm guessing by the time it gets to my place the game will already be out. So there's not point in wasting $6.

Actually, I think I'd agree that the Force is just that... the Force. There isn't necessarily a duality of nature within the Force, a good side and a bad side competing in conflict with itself. But as the movies seem to imply, there's certainly a "right" way to use the Force, and apparently a "wrong" way to use it. I think the differences in its use and observable effects aren't merely due to human perspective and projection-- looking at the same thing in two different ways and seeing two different things. But rather it's two different approaches resulting in two very different and observable effects. And one of these ways appears to the using the force with balance and harmony in mind, while the other appears to be using it with power and gain in mind. So I think it's more than just a matter of "different perspectives"... but a matter of different application leading to real and actual differences in result. I don't think we can characterize the Force as completely ambivalent to how its used and maligned, and thus maligned, chaotic, and "evil" uses of it are merely due to our constructs and exist only our imaginations. The nex gen consoles will be much better. I Have the Nvidia 6800GT and on Doom 3 it stutters on Ultra High, Ultra High is for 512 MB cards or the SLI setup. The PS3 GPU will be more powerfull then 2 6800 Ultras in SLI mode. I am not sure were the Xbox's GPU fits in the scale but the next gen will be better than anything on the market now even for PC at least till Nvidia brings out the G70 GPU or 7800. The 6800 Series is better in performance then the FX series. Plus they fixed alot of the DirectX 9 issues in the 6800 series that the FX series had. Right now the 6800 Ultra Extreme is the hightest Nvidia card. It is 2 cards above mine. I have no issues with the latest PC games. AMD 3200+, Nvidia 6800GT. Both are overclocked. I am looking forward to the Xbox 360 and the PS3 since they will be better than the 2 best PC cards right now, ATI 850XT PE and Nivida 6800 Ultra Extreme. So rest assured the next gen consoles are going to be beasts. They are going to be at least 22 cards ahead of the GeForce FX 5200. The 6800 GT is 19 cards ahead of the FX 5200. So say I didn't want to spend more than $150 for a new video card, what would you or anyone else recommend? I bought my computer 2 years ago thinking that I'd be okay for at least 5 years before I had to upgrade again. It's year two and I'm having to already upgrade my video card.

Consoles generally appear to get a 6 month lead time where they are superior, but PCs always catch up quickly. They APPEAR to be better. But you have to remember, they're running at 640*480 at 30 Hz(technically 60 interlaced). 60Hz on the high end(Dreamcast VGA box, PS2/GameCube progressive scan). Exception: XBox can do higher resolutions. The average PC game is running more like 1024*768 at 75-100 Hz. It's got a lot more work going on even when the games look equivalent. This generation's a bit diffrent, though. It's set up to be DTV ready. All 3 systems are supporting the higher resolutions available. There's a massive hop up here. Hign-end is 1080i = 1920*1080=2,073,600 pixels. A good moderate-high PC game res is what? 1600*1200? Which = 1,920,000. Almost identical pixel-wise. However, 1080i is running at 60Hz interlaced, which is 30 full screens a second. The PC 1600*1200 is 60Hz progressive at the minimum, resulting in a doubled render job, and more likely 75 or 100Hz(60Hz looks like CRAP on a PC monitor). More likely is 720p, though. Which is 1280*720=921,600 pixels at 60Hz progressive. Console games generally LOOK flashier, but in practice they aren't. The display they use lets them get away with lower resolutions and smaller texture maps, along with such evil trickery as dithered shading and checkerboard transparency. Having said all that, let it be clarified that I'm not a PC fanboy. Games is games. Well, I have a 128 MB DDR GeForce FX 5200 video card, a 2.8GHz CPU w/HTT, and 1 GB of DDR ram and I still have trouble playing the latests games. I can't set the settings to Ultra high when I play Doom 3 or WoW. If I do for Doom 3 I have set my resolution to 640x480. WoW seems to handle the high detail well, but I only get about 12 fps on avg. You'd think with my specs I'd have no problems...but I do. I hate to think that I have to upgrade already when I bought all of this sh*t in 2003, IIRC. If what you say is true, then these next gen consoles are just about as good as my current PC then? I was actually hoping for once that I could buy a gaming machine that had better graphics than a PC...for I wouldn't have to upgrade! But that went down the toilet.

After reading the GPU specs on the next-gen consoles, it's obvious these GPUs are much better than what's out on the market right now for PCs (unless there are graphics cards out there that I don't know about, which is very plausible). So my question to you all is: Do you suppose these next-gen consoles will hamper the gaming market on the PC, if not kill it? The only thing I see going for the PC right now is the ability to use the keyboard to play instead, with these next-gen consoles coming out.

Either way, I'll probably still pick up both systems, and maybe the Revolution if Zelda, Mario Kart, and Smash Brothers look insane. The way I see it, it's his creation, he can do whatever he wants with it. If it was orginally about war and peace and then turns out to be about Vader...so be it. Personally, I see both trilogies as a story about good vs. evil; with the only difference being how the first trilogy (OT) mainly revolves around Luke while the second revolves around Vader.

The graphics look insane.

I couldn't have said any of that better myself. I never really felt any sympathy for Vader, but after seeing Episode III I had a lot of sympathy for him. The guy was only doing what he thought was best at the time for Padme out of love, which turned out to be the wrong thing to do. How could you not be sympathetic to that? I really enjoyed the movie...more so cause of how it evoked emotions...most movies don't do that for me. The only thing I disagree with you on, Mr March, is the love story. I didn't think it was bad at all. But yea...I saw it tonight and loved it...and I'm not much of a Star Wars fan either...so that says something to me at least.
