1. Poor quality? What have you been smoking? GitS:SAC is probably one of the better animes out there right now, if not one of the best. To each their own I suppose....
2. I'd like to see Sony fall of it's high horse. There hasn't been a single game on the PS2 that I've wanted. I loved the PSX, but the PS2 dissappoints me. The graphics are inferior, and the only game I see worth owning is God of War and the Macross game (that I can't play for I live in the States and don't want to mod a PS2). Final Fantasy VII was great for the PSX, but Final Fantasy X bored me (played on friend's PS2). I'm not a huge Microsoft fan either, but I can't really complain about the XBox at all. It has several games that I've wanted and now own, such as Halo, Conker...etc. XBox Live is also awesome in my opinion. I also can't see Nintendo ever fading off the earth either in the console wars. They have so many exclusives titles...I'm looking forward to the new Zelda and I don't own a GameCube yet. Once I get a GC I also plan to get Smash Brothers and Mario Kart. I'm sure they'll have those three titles for Revolution as well. If Sony were to remake FFVII, and if they were to have a few other titles that I'd be interested, I'd be more inclined to buying a PS3, but I can't see that happening yet. Anyway...I'm done rambling. Just thought I'd give my opinion.
3. Am I the only Macross fan in Nevada? :/
4. Well...if you don't care to watch HD movies and DVDs and the likes, then get an entry level card then. No point if you're not going to be using it for anything else if your computer can handle NWN with the vid card you have. Just about any new entry level video card should suit you well for what you seem to be asking. I still suggest the 6600GT.
5. That's what I was trying to get at you could say. Anyway.....
6. ...How long has it taken us to finally get into Dual Core CPUs? ...I can't imagine new graphics cards getting any significant new features anytime soon. And if there happens to be some significant new feature...I'm sure the power of the second graphics card w/SLI can make up for that lack of features for the meantime. Going out on a limb here, but if anything, couldn't the power of the second card somehow emulate the feature of the newer cards through coding?
7. These are my specs: -Intel P4 2.8 GHz w/HTT -1 GB DDR RAM -128 MB DDR GeForce FX 5200 I've had no trouble playing all of the above mentioned games. However I've only been able to play them on the smallest resolution with the graphics settings set anywhere from Medium to High. I got this computer in August of 2003 and it was supposed to be top of the line back then. Thinking (back then) that I'd be set for at least 5 years, I'm already looking to upgrade my computer. A friend of mine, an Advanced user, recommended that I get a GeForce 6600GT w/SLI. But in order for me to do that I'd need to upgrade my mobo, and if I were to do that I'd want to upgrade my CPU from what I have to an AMD 64 3200+ (or higher). I digress though, getting too far off from the point I'm trying to make. Point I'm trying to make is that the GeForce 6600GT is the way to go, and just about everyone on this board (that's replied) seems to agree. If I were you, I'd upgrade your computer with an SLI mobo and buy an SLI card. That way down the road when it comes time to upgrading again, all you'd need to do is buy the same card at a much cheaper price. Then you'd be able to watch all of your HD movies on your comp and play all the top of the games in the end. My two cents.
8. Like a third of this thread is about favorite scenes. Of the few other scenes mentioned, they were definitely memorable for me as well. To those that shared, thanks.
9. Any idea when the 3rd production run will be? I don't know how these runs work; how long there is in between each run. Are we talking weeks? Months? Year(s)?
10. It said it was supposed to air on Saturday but I check the TV guides and it says 4am Sunday morning. Have I already missed the first airing of Kakurenbo and the one on Sunday morning is the second airing?
11. I was watching Macross II again and started thinking about my favorite scenes of the movie; as well as ponder what the rest of MW's favorite scenes of the movie are. I happen to have three favorite scenes as follows: First favorite scene happens to be at 1:21:21 - 1:22:24 chapter 8. "Futari" kicks in and we see the softer side of Silvie as she talks to Hibiki. It gives me goose bumps every time I watch it. Second favorite scene happens to be at 1:48:52 - 1:50:27 chapter 10. Ishtar sings 'the Song of the Alus', or "Anata o kanjite-iru - Mia Santi Ren", and we see Hibiki giving what's to be his last report, as he falls apart inside. Then the Macross discharges some energy and we eventually see Exxegran and Sylvie for a few seconds, then Isthar, then Ingus sensing(?) the 'Alus'. It gives me this sense of "this is humanity’s last hope†kind of feeling. This scene also gives me goose bumps. Third favorite scene happens at 0:49:48 - 0:53:05 chapter 5. "Ark of Alus" starts playing in the background; Hibiki and Ishtar go to the Macross and Ishtar goes on to talk about her people and her beliefs. Guess one could say it's the music that really does it for me in all three scenes. What are your guys' favorite scenes from Macross II? Any else share the same favorite scenes as I?
12. Anyone ever heard of this anime? I just recently saw a commercial for the anime that's to air on Saturday on Adult Swim. Any thoughts/opinions on it?
13. [my2cents] I think the YF-21 is vastly superior to the YF-19. I'd take one of those over the 19 anyday, mainly cause of the BDI system. But as to who's the better pilot, I'd assume Isamu judging by the animation in both OVA and movie. [/my2cents]
14. Okay, in order to prevent the tangent universe from coming true and to save the ones he cares about, Donnie has to die. So he sacrifices himself and the jet engine crashes on him. My housemates are wondering if the jet crashes in the end. So we're looking at that point in time where the engine crashes and the two universes co-exist. I believe the jet engine from the tangent universe materialized in the "real" universe at that time, and as Donnie dies the Tangent universe ceases to exist. Once the tangent universe ceases to exist, the plane ends up not crashing for Donnie sacrificed himself. Despite it not crashing, the engine still appears for it the two universes co-existed at that one point in time. Anyone share the same views? Different views? Edit: My housemates believe that the author possibly gave the answer in a review. But I believe if he intended for us to know then he would have told us flat out. I also believe they're idiots for I'm explaining as clearly as I can my point of view on all of this and they are too stuborn to see where I'm coming from.
15. Transforming mecha will always rule in my book. I'd rather watch an anime with transforming mecha than I would an anime w/o mecha in the sci-fi/fantasy genre...and I love sci-fi/fantasy anime/movies/you name it. I don't see how something as huge as a 20 story building that can blow sh*t up...cause mass chaos and destruction...I don't see how that cannot be 'cool.' Edit: I hate how sh*t becomes poo
16. http://www.MacrossWorld.com is my homepage.
17. So XBox 360 Core System is $299.99 and comes with 2 controllers (one wireless, one w/wire). While the XBox 360 is $399.99, comes with one controller (wireless), and a hard drive. The HDs being $99.99, the wireless controllers being $49.99, and the wired controllers being $39.99. From the looks of it all, I'll probably be going with the XBox 360 Core System. It comes with two controllers instead of one...and I could just pay $100 and get a HD (for a total of about $400). If I went the "XBox 360" route, I'd have to pay about $450 just so I could have two controllers and the HD. On top of that, I don't have a HD TV or anything of the sort so I don't need those HDAV cables. And the headset that came with XBox Live should be able to work with the XBox 360...right? So yea...I think I'll save myself $50 and go with the XBox 360 Core System. 323136 That brochure is wrong. Core has one wired controller. That's all. 323200 You have an XBox 360 Core System? How would you know if the brochure is wrong? Maybe it's part of their marketing ploy....who knows. ...If it is wrong, I'd probably go with the full thing then. I'm going to be paying $450 by the end of the day either way I go. 323225 Because every other press release, pre-order, photo of the boxes, etc. indicate otherwise. The photos of the final packaging has been released as well. Core has a wired controller. One of them. If it was indeed sold the way you describe in the brochure then yes, it's a better deal...but it isn't. Core packaging Fully Loaded Package 323269 We'll see come launch time.

20. I woke up this morning listening to Hiroko Kasahara's "Anata o kanjite-iru - Mia Santi Ren" and I just couldn't get enough of the a cappella this morning. I love her voice and that a cappella. Anyway, I started thinking about what she was saying...and noted that I had not a damn clue. I have no clue where I could look for a translation of the lyrics or where to even find the lyrics. So here I am hoping someone on this board could kindly help me out. To those that have no clue who she is, she's Ishtar's seiyuu. The song can be found on the Macross II OST Vol. 2 CD, track 17 (iirc). Thanks.
21. What part of America is this? Why haven't I seen any of these women?
22. Thought you didn't care in the end, bigkid. I didn't think everyone wanted to wait much longer, so I went ahead and started the draft.
23. In case neither of you have checked the league yet, the draft is complete. May want to make sure everyone is where you want them to be on your guys' rosters.
24. Some of you talk lowly of these people who commit suicide. I'm sure these people were very depressed, had little or no confidence, and no hope or faith in themselves. These people aren't going to get over their depression or personal problems over night. If they're committing suicide they must feel really shitty inside and really sad (depressed). They're in a fragile state of mind. Think about it.... I feel sorry for these people that resort to suicide, thinking it's their only option. Makes you wonder what it was in their life that made them that sad and depressed.
25. We have room for 4 more if anyone is interested.
