  1. Another Macross II fan! $$$ I'm stoked to see our numbers growing! Welcome to MW! I whole heartedly agree with you on all accounts about the anime! However, I have a few different favorite moments. My 3 favorite scenes are as follows: First favorite scene happens to be at 1:21:21 - 1:22:24 chapter 8. "Futari" kicks in and we see the softer side of Silvie as she talks to Hibiki. She then gives what she thought could have been her 'last report' on camera. It gives me goose bumps every time I watch it. Second favorite scene happens to be at 1:48:52 - 1:50:27 chapter 10. Ishtar sings 'the Song of the Alus', or "Anata o kanjite-iru - Mia Santi Ren", and we see Hibiki giving what's to be his last report, as he falls apart inside. Then the Macross discharges some energy and we eventually see Exxegran and Sylvie for a few seconds, then Isthar, then Ingus sensing(?) the 'Alus'. It gives me this sense of "this is humanity’s last hope†kind of feeling. This scene also gives me goose bumps. Third favorite scene happens at 0:49:48 - 0:53:05 chapter 5. "Ark of Alus" starts playing in the background; Hibiki and Ishtar go to the Macross and Ishtar goes on to talk about her people and her beliefs. Despite loving the whole series/movie as a whole, the music is probably my most favorite thing about Macross II. Hiroko Kasahara (Ishtar) has such a beautiful voice, and Shiro Sagisu's BGM score is SUPERB (CAN'T GO WRONG WITH SHIRO SAGISU!). A lot Macross fans on this forum dislike Macross II; but I'm slowly starting to see more and more coming around (coming to their senses ). The song you speak of at the 'earth's siege' is titled "Mou Ichido Love You." You can find it on the Macross II OST Volume 2 CD. "Kizuna" is another good BGM track, it's played during the kiss scene between Hibiki and Sylvie. "Banana Moon Love," played during the Minmay attack scene, is another good song, however not sung by Hiroko Kasahara. I think the song you speak of at the Festival is called "Only Your Friend." It can be found on the first OST. If isn't it then it's "Riding in Your Valkyrie" which is played before "Only Your Friend." Note: I have yet to read the rest of the replies, if someone's already gone over the songs and all that jazz, sorry.
  2. Would Boa ("Duvet"), Horie Yui with UNSCANDAL ("Scramble"), or Mai Fukuda ("Tenshi no Yubikiri") be considered J-Rock? I'm REALLY loving "Tenshi no Yubikiri" right now. The only band I know to be actual J-Rock would be The Pillows ("Last Dinosaur" is by far their best). Note: "Duvet" is the opening theme song for Serial Experiment Lain, "Scramble" is the opening theme song for School Rumble, and "Tenshi no Yubikir" is the opening theme song for Kareshi Kanojo no Jijyo (His and Her Circumstances).
  3. Just wanted to throw my two cents out there. I like the new kites, but I liked the minmay dolls better than the half arrows. The half arrows are actually quite annoying. :/ PLEASE revert!
  4. I tried doing a search for "His and Her Circumstances" and this is the error message I get: Is there any way to fix this please? It's quite annoying. I wouldn't want to post a topic that has already been posted only for it to be closed. Thanks!
  5. I have a friend who is a videophile and an audiophile. I too have been looking for a HD-TV (for gaming and watching HD TV), either 26in or 32in. He told me that good CRTs that size don't exist and that if I wanted that size I should look into LCDs. ThE only brand he recommended to me was the Sharp Aquous, for the picture quality and black levels. He also said that if I wanted to go bigger than that, 40+ inches, that I should look into Samsung's or Toshiba's DLPs. He also suggested I stay away from Sony for the quality of their TVs have gone nowhere but down. Here is also a really good place for information on audio and video equipment. My friend frequents there a lot and there seems to be quite a lot of 'gurus' there, if you will. Anyway, that's my two cents.
  6. AFM was great when Deja-News was still around
  7. I've been reading that people with GeForce FX cards pretty much can't play the game at all, despite the website saying that the FX cards will work with the game. Has anyone experienced this with the FX series? I have a 128 MB DDR GeForce FX 5200 card and I'm wondering if I'll be able to play this game at all.
  8. Finally got to watch episode 71.... I didn't think it was all that bad. We got to learn some potential important information. I haven't read the Manga.... Does Ishida ever get his powers back in the Manga?
  9. Okay, I'm a little confused here. I've gotten to episode 64 and what confuses me is episode 61 or 62 where Captain Aizen mentions heaven and taking throne there. Does this mean Soul Society isn't "Heaven"?
  10. .
  11. The only original Macross music I like (love rather) is Stardust Memory, Violin of Tears, and Melody of Sorrow Unlike with Robotech, I like Love Themes, Desolation, Broken Heart (personal fav.), Roy Fokker's Theme, Reconstruction Blues, Catastrophe, Battle Stations, Main Theme, and Private Time. So as far as my liking the original Macross score goes, I guess one could say I prefer RT's BGM compared to Macross TV's; but I think the BGM in Macross TV suits the show better than RT's. Disliked the vocal tracks for both though however. But yea....
  12. Well, I figured with there being a Hell that Heaven/Soul Society would be much more pleasent. I forget which episode it was but I remember there was a guy who was sent to Hell rather than Soul Society. Just bothers me that the murders would be in Soul Society rather than Hell. I can deal with Soul Society not being a grand and rich place everywhere up there, where some live in...say a split level place...but at least there'd be peace and happiness, not murder. Anyway, thanks again for the replies.
  13. …I just recently got into Bleach (after hearing non-stop about it from friends) and up until episode 31 (The Resolution to Kill) I loved the series. Then episode 32 (Stars and The Stray) comes along and almost completely KILLED the entire anime for me!!! What really pissed me off was when Abarai Renji started talking about the 78th district in Rukongai; that it is the lowest of the lows out of all the districts, and that there’s thievery and murder there. Why would there be murder and thievery in Soul Society?! I thought Soul Society was a place where all the good people end up and live happily! I guess you could say the inconsistency there is what really ticked me off! I can deal with minor inconsistencies, but I don’t think this one is minor at all, seeing how it involved character development and the likes. Am I the only one bothered by this? After he mentioned the murder and thievery I just couldn’t get into the rest of the episode, couldn’t connect at all. …More over, I went and watch episode 33 (Miracle! The Mysterious New Hero) pretty annoyed. So I skimmed through most of the episode till I was about 18 mins and 30 seconds into it; the part where Kurosaki Yuzu has the flash back of meeting the cat, Raku, for the first time. I must say, when I got to that part I was truly touched and sad for Yuzu, for how she felt and what Raku did for Yuzu, despite what had happened. For lack of better words, one could say I connected there with the character and situation. That whole scene blew me away, after having been disappointed with the previous episode. Also, why the hell is Tsumugiya Ururu always so sad looking? …I’ve only seen up to episode 33…are there going to be anymore inconsistencies in the future episodes, like in episode 32? Sorry, but I just had to rant/vent all of this…. Thanks for any feedback regarding my thoughts and questions!
  14. I'm really low on HD space, but as soon as there's room I'll be sure to start d/l-ing and seeding
  15. Meh, I'll add mine for the sake of adding it. My name is Oyan, but the correct spelling is Oihan. Name has no meaning, just a Basque name.
  16. 376091[/snapback] Haha, I'll always prefer Macross over Robotech, could probably say I've already converted long ago. The only real thing I liked about Robotech was The Macross Saga, but I think I'd hate to see the company that introduced me to Macross to go under. If it weren't for them I may or may not have ever seen nor heard of Macross.
  17. OT (sorta), but I just saw the Shadow Chronicles trailer and I got to thinking. I grew up watching Robotech when I was a kid and loved the Macross Saga part of it. However, I can't possibly see Shadow Chronicles doing Harmony Gold any good. Say if it were to put them out of business cause it tanked...what would happen to all of the official Macross stuff they have? Would they sell it? If so would they sell it to the right people? I just have my doubts about this. And if the live-action movie ties in with Shadow Chronicles...I just don't see any hope for the company that introduced me to Robotech. In a way, part of me hopes that HG does good with their new products....then again..... I have a lot of mixed feelings. Anyone else have mixed feelings?
  18. If it uses the Macros TV/Robotech:TMS script I'll be a happy camper. I'm looking forward to this though if it is so! If the Evangelion L-A movie looks as good as it might, I could only imagine what the Robotech L-A movie would look like! I can only hope both Eva and Robotech movies turn out great!!! (Prays)
  19. Just watched and I like it. Tis an interesting take on what life could be like. It is kind of depressing at first, but at the end I think it's uplifting. Makes you think.
  20. I'm assuming the F-22 is our most advanced fighter? We can't even get the thing to do a cobra manuever? Why would one limit it's abilities?
  21. Does anyone even watch the show? Bumping this for the first and last time if Mods don't mind.
  22. This BGM song appears often, like 17 mins into episode 97, where Keiko walks away from Yusuke after saying bye, we then see Yusuke lying there thinking to himself how he messed it up; then Kuwabara is busy working on some math. Anyone know the name of the musical piece I speak of? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
  23. Are any of these servers still kept or are they all dead for good? I tried connecting to all of those that were listed but had no luck.
  24. Macross II: Well, if it isn't obvious enough already, Macross II is my absolute favorite. The music and the massive space battles is what did it for me. Songs like Futari, Kizuna, Kyoukou Toppa, Mou Ichido Love You, Ark of Alus and Tsubasa with the animation playing with those songs made some memorable moments for me. SDF-Macross: SDF-Macross couldn't possibly go lower than #2 on my list. GOT TO LOVE the original series that started it all. Violin of Tears, Startdust Memory, and Melody of Sorrow are probably my three fav. musical pieces w/in SDF-Macross; so many others I like too. Then there are the episodes "Bye-Bye Mars" and "Pineapple Salad" that I can't get enough of. Macross Plus & Macross DYRL?: Macross Plus and Macross DYRL? take the number 3 spot, can't love one more or less than the other. The movies kicked @$$!!! (for lack of better wording). Macross Zero: What can I say, the anime is just stunning; but it didn't quite make as big of an impact as the others did on me. Still great non-the-less though! Macross Flashback 2012: Great way to end SDF-Macross but as someone else said, it's pretty much a music video with the new footage at the start and ending. As with Zero, still great non-the-less! Macross 7: I have yet to see anything 7 So all in all, you could say I like the series as a whole
