  1. Hmmm, so then there isn't a HDTV that doesn't have the 2:3 pulldown problem then? I thought the '120Hz' made 1080p/24 possible w/o the 2:3 pulldown, but if it isn't true 120Hz.... If that's the case, then I'll be leaning towards the Sharp Aquos LC32D62U or LC32GP1U 32" 1080p LCD HDTVs...seeing as how the 2:3 pulldown is still present regardless of the set. One can get the LC32D62U for about $1000 and the LC32GP1U for about $200 more...all from Amazon.com.
  2. I have a few concerns, if you guys don't mind. (I'm having some difficulties with the AVS forums.) I'm looking at 32" LCD HDTVs. I know that 1080p > 720p (and that 1080p is somewhat pointless at 32"); that 120Hz > 60Hz; shorter response time > longer response time. The only HDTV sets at 32" that have a 1080p native display are the Sharp Aquos sets. However, I don't believe they have a 120Hz refresh rate...meaning if I were to get one I would be dealing with the 2:3 pulldown bs...right? ...Well I am and have been aching to get a HDTV (you guys wouldn't believe how many times I've been just one click away from purchasing one) for some time now; I'd love to watch HD movies in all their glory and to play my 360 games w/o any lag. I've been checking this constantly to see what you all had to say in regards to HD, and I've been doing some research elsewhere...but I'm still unsure and I have questions lingering in my head. I'm hoping you guys might be able to help me out further. So my questions are...would I be better off buying a 720p 120Hz (8ms response I think) set, a 1080p 60Hz (6ms response) set, or would I be better off waiting for a 32" 1080p 120Hz HDTV? ...Would a 1080p/60 2:3 pulldown be noticeable compared to a 1080p/24 image at 32"? Should I even be concerned with 120Hz at 32"? Would getting a 120Hz set in anything other than 1080p be defeating the purpose of getting rid of picture degradation since there would still be downscaling? Maybe what I should be asking is if downscaling to 720p is better than the 2:3 pulldown at 1080p? I guess when it boils right down to it...all I really want is to see the images as the creator intended them to be seen, w/o any degradation or loss of information. However...if I can't tell nor see the degradation/loss of information...then maybe I could make a few compromises...I just want to make sure I choose the right compromises. I don't have much experience with HDTVs...so I come to you guys in hopes of getting a clearer picture on all of this. I GREATLY appreciate any and all help! Thanks!
  3. http://www.bungie.net/stats/Halo3/CareerSt...player=Ashmedai ...You guys should check out my "Triple Grave" clip! (Triple Kill from the Grave.)
  4. Meaning...Gainax doesn't even know where they were going with it? I too would be happy!
  5. I've had mine since Nov. of 2006 and it's still going strong. Though, every now and then on a blue moon the game I'm playing will freeze...it's only happened twice in its life. Haha...I guess I could say I too have the "Duncan McCloud Edition." (I hope our 360s never cross each others' paths, JsARCLIGHT...since there can only be one...! )
  6. I don't know about you guys, but I want to see what led to that event in episode 1 and where it was going.... I'm not entirely convinced that event had anything to do with the events in the last two episodes...but that's just me.
  7. I really enjoyed Macross Zero and I wouldn't mind seeing a movie version.
  8. Just saw episode 143 and I'm really liking what I'm seeing. Grimmjow is one 'bad ass' mofo. I can't wait till 144 to learn more!
  9. 142 was a bit of a snooze, but it seems to still be on track so I can't really complain.
  10. It can't be done. I don't mind it so much though. I like being able to play with 3 others in co-op (I think it's one of the best features of the game)...so it's a fair trade if anything if you ask me.
  11. LOL, good stuff.
  12. Well said Godzilla. As for myself and Halo 3.... I really like the mechanics of the game compared to that of Halo:CE. Though I still find the campaign in Halo:CE more enjoyable than Halo 2 and 3. (Now if only they would remake Halo:CE with 360 graphics and Halo 3 mechanics!) I think the real saving grace of this game (not that it needs to be saved) is the online capabilities of it. Playing Halo 3's campaign with 3 others online is a lot of fun imo; some of the stuff that's pulled off his hilarious. I also like the ability to record the games and replay them after you've completed a mission or ranked/social match. Overall, I think the campaign and online play on Halo 3 is MUCH better than it is on Halo 2. I'm also glad that I didn't have to play as the Arbiter on Halo 3 like I did in Halo 2. It's one of the few things I disliked about Halo 2. Hell, after I had beaten the game and went back to play through the campaign, I skipped all of the missions with the Arbiter. Well, I need to get back to work....
  13. Halo 2.5 in what sense? Was it the graphics or the game play? Or was it entirely something else?
  14. So after the credits we see Any speculation as to what will happen next? (Added the spoiler tag just in case someone beat the game but didn't wait for the credits to finish and/or didn't beat the game on Legendary.) Also, what do you guys think of the campaign in Halo 3 compared to the rest? I, for one, liked it much better than Halo 2's campaign. As for comparing it to Halo: CE's campaign...it's a toss up. I have more thoughts, but I'll get them out later. I got to get back to work.
  15. There's more after the credits. Moreover, if you beat the game on Legendary, you get to see an additional 20 or so seconds more in addition to the footage after the credits. Maybe I should make a Halo 3 thread for spoilers....
  16. Anyone have any idea what that planet is or what's going to happen next? Any speculation rather? (I'm sure most of you won't know what I'm talking about, but for those that do...any thoughts/opinions?)
  17. I'll be standing in line at the Gamestop in my area 2 hrs before midnight. This will be the first time I've ever stood in line for a video game; Halo 3 seems worth it though.
  18. Haha, they are the real deal. Chris Crocker has several other videos. Two others I've seen show his room with Britney paraphernalia from wall to wall, floor to ceiling; another video with him singing to a Britney song. All three of his videos are disturbing, but I find the Leave Britney Alone one funny because he is dead serious. As for the German kid, his temper is just too funny. He must have been having a bad day or something...but that's just too funny.
  19. Haha, that was pretty good.
  20. Lol...I'm guessing you didn't find it as funny? I've shown the last one to a few others who fell over laughing.... I guess it isn't as funny as I thought it was? I just find it hilarious that, because of video editing, the kid is 'now' getting angry over Chris Crocker's whining. Ah well....
  21. Thanks for the input guys, I appreciate it! I think I'll wait 2-5 months and then get that TV I was looking at. Thanks again!
  22. These videos are, in my opinion, some of the funniest things I've seen all year. I couldn't pass up sharing them with you all. If this thread gets deleted or locked, so be it. At least I tried to share some humor. There are three videos: I'm not sure how many of you have seen it, but his temper is pretty funny imo. Edit: He's having a hard time loading this game, throws a fit, gets the game to work, and continues to throw a fit when he dies. (Thanks Mike!) This second one I'm sure most of you have all seen. It's been on CNN, Jimmy Kimmel show, and even parodied by Seth Green. It's the Chris Crocker: Leave Britney Alone video. I find it mainly disturbing...but it's funny in that the guy is dead serious. Last but not least, it's the combination of the two videos put together. I haven't laughed so hard in so long. I dunno how funny the last one will be to you all, but I hope it's made some of you laugh.
  23. I posted in the computer & electronics thread, but it was suggested that I post here instead. As for HDTVs, what 32" HDTVs would you guys recommend? I can't go any higher than 32;" and I was thinking of getting a Sharp Aquos LC32GP1U 32" 1080p LCD HDTV because it's 1080p. I can find one for about $1199, but I'm told that I should wait a year or so before I get one for it'll eventually go down in price. Question is, how much in price do you guys think it'll drop in a year? Is it even worth waiting that long for who knows how many hundreds (if any)? I'd be using the TV to watch HD TV (NFL games, etc.), HD movies, and to play my 360 on of course. Azrael suggested to me that I should wait at least 3...5 months (I'm guessing when the analog TV signals become digital? Or is that in 2009?) I was thinking, however, that if I don't get an HDTV this year that I'd get the Valks instead...and I'd love to have either...though I'm really wanting a HDTV right now. I've never bought a model Valk before but the 25th Anniversary has definitely caught my eye. Thanks.
  24. I must have missed that thread. My apologies! I'll be sure to post it over there. Thanks for your opinions! Edit:Are you talking about the HD-DVD/Bluray thread by any chance?
  25. In no particular order my top 10 excluding Macross: Cowboy Bebop Ghost in the Shell Akira Ninja Scroll Eureka Seven Gurren Lagann Bleach Evangelion Patlabor Cromartie High School I couldn't help but add 5 more, they're all equally good in my opinion.
