  1. Novels? What's a novel? Who reads anyway? I swear, some people. It's all about the animation and the eye candy!
  2. This is what I believe she is saying in romaji followed by a very, very, very...very rough translation. I'm somewhat confident that I'm in the ball park with 5 of those translations. I wouldn't be surprised though if I'm completely way off base. I have only taken one Japanese class after all.... >_< I'm hoping someone on this board will be able to fill in the rest and fix my translations watashi no koi wa // my love is oru ko oru yo // great, greater than kokoro no futa wo // my heart contained douchi te anata ni a mu to kakushite iru // needs to break yohou ke no hitori // lingering fragrance...alone go to wo naze // why anata ga ka no joron da mae guchi nishi ta dake te mou daikirai na un te // again I dislike the fortune I'm handed omou no kashira // I wonder what you feel nami utsu mune ga // destroy ordinary will/principles/way of thinking (?) kana te ru no wa namida ga mo iru oto Edit: I apologize for this piss poor attempt...but I figured I'd try and help the best I can. Looking again at what I've translated...I'm sure my translations can be definitely be tweaked so that it sounds more "fluent" if you will.
  3. After SDF Macross, Macross II is my favorite. Macross TV ignited the flame, but Macross II is what fueled my love of Macross as a whole. I love the characters, the mecha, the story itself...and I especially love the music. I, like you, dislike the fact that there were so few episodes. I would love it if they revisited Macross II...but I don't see that ever happening. I'm sure I'm more likely to get hit by lightning or die in a plane crash than I am to see Macross II be revisited. Some will argue that Macross II is nothing but a rehash of DYRL?...which I can't help but disagree with. There are several differences between the two in regards to the story. They may share similar plot devices...but that's a moot argument if you ask me - I won't get into that though. Anyway....
  4. There is a lot of great music from Macross II. I don't know how many of you are into instrumentals/BGM tracks...but some of my favorites are (in no particular order) Futari, Kizuna, Ark of Alus, Tsubasa, and Kyoukou Toppa. All but Ark of Alus can be found on OST Vol. 2. As for lyrical tracks (again in no particular order): Banana Moon Love, Soko ni Aru no ga Mirai dakara (a track that never made it into the film unfortunately), Anata o Kanjite-iru - Mia Santi Ren (a very beautiful a cappella), and of course Mou Ichido - Love You. The music is what really sealed the deal for me with my love of Macross II. Anyway...if none of you have heard any or all of those tracks in full...I highly recommend them all. Edit: I did not know the Japanese translation for Banana Moon Love was Koi no Banana Moon. I'm gonna have to update the name of the track now. Thanks Brand!
  5. Thanks for the replies. I did find the thread you were talking about, BeyondTheGrave, after a little more digging. I guess I should have used better keywords than "Frontier subtitles". Oh well.... Thanks again everyone!
  6. I know there are subtitles out there that can be downloaded...I just don't know how much new stuff has been added to the BD/DVD discs and I am worried about timing issues. Are there are any subtitles out there, available for download, that have been properly timed with the BD/DVD discs? Google has been of no help to me...nor have I been able to find any threads on MW. Much Thanks! Oyan B.
  7. Thanks, Kresphy, for uploading/sharing that image. I went ahead and resized it to use it as a desktop background. If anyone is interested, I have two images attached. One is cropped, the other is the full thing...both resized to a height of 1080 pixels. I hope no one minds.
  8. You're about 4...5 days too early there...unless the first of April has already come and I don't know it. :X
  9. There are a lot people on this board who are WAY too critical...and have extremely high expectations. When a new thread pops up, about a new movie coming out, the typical response is "my childhood is being raped (again)." Hell, that kind of response is almost expected on this message board. I would be very surprised if I didn't see a response like that...and would probably think that pigs are flying and hell is freezing over. It's quite annoying actually.... Anyway...I finally saw the movie tonight and I thought it was pretty good. I give it a B...B+ at best. It's definitely no Dark Knight, but it's far from being disappointing. I'll more than likely see it again to catch anything I might have missed. I really like how the characters come across...in that they're mortals like the rest of us.
  10. ...Wow, that stinks. It's amazing how vindictive some people can be. ...By the way...when I say elitism...I'm referring to those who make snide remarks when they see something being rehashed or what have ya. I don't see MW, as a whole, as some kind of elitist community. I just wanted to throw that out there...cause I don't people to think that's how I see MW. Again, I don't know where else I'm going to find Macross fanatics like myself....
  11. Well, I dunno how many of you like the online gameplay in Killzone 2, but if there's any interest we should get together online and play some matches...even form a clan.
  12. Just how many of us are playing Killzone 2 by the way?
  13. Haha. Even if I am set up for disappointment, it's not like I still don't have the original to watch. Besides, who would complain with DYRL? stylized animation? ...And it's not so much that the animation is "crappy" it's just that it is a bit outdated. I think the show being re-animated, while keeping the audio intact and bringing back those three I listed would do the show some justice...and it'd cause me to wet my pants...but that's probably too much information and more than you wanted to know.
  14. Vegas, I've been playing Killzone 2 frequently. I think the game is phenomenal. I love the chaos in the multi-player games. Bullets screaming past ya with grenades and explosions going off everywhere...I love it! Edit: We should start a Macross clan of some sort!
  15. LOL...I was kidding...>EXO<. I guess emoticons aren't enough these days. On a more serious note. About AFM...you asked where it is now. I honestly don't know why people left AFM for MW. I don't think it was because of the lack of moderation or the spam/advertisments. Back when Deja News was still around, I don't recall seeing any spam or advertisments to be honest...maybe my memory is fuzzy.... I think it was around the time MW popped up that I started to see/notice spam and advertisements. Not to say MW is at fault for AFM's down fall...just something I've noticed. If I have missed the whole point about Alt.Fan.Macross...my apologies. Would you then please elaborate?
  16. If it's Blu-ray then you're damn right it won't matter...so long as it's released in Japan (and comes with subtitles). Thank goodness the States and Japan are in the same region! I'd love it if they brought back Mikimoto, Kawamori (of course), and Miyatake to re-animate the show DYRL? style...so long as the audio was kept intact. That would be a dream come true for me.
  17. I don't think the reason why Alt.Fan.Macross died is because of the lack of moderation. MW popped up and everyone came here; I followed. AFM didn't used to always have advertisements...in fact I thought the newsgroup was pretty obscure. I honestly don't know of any other Macross site/forum other than MW...so I couldn't tell you how things have gone down with those sites/forums. Again, I'm not saying that I'm against moderation. I just wish there was another forum to use for things not related to Science Fiction or Macross. I'm not going to stop coming to MW because there isn't another forum on this message board...but it would be nice to have...that's all I'm trying to say and get across. So you're saying I don't matter? ='( I guess I'll go crawling back to AFM...never to return.
  18. I used to be a moderator elsewhere, I'm well aware of how moderation works, thank you though. I never mentioned I wanted nor demanded an explanation as to why these threads were deleted. All I said and am saying was that there were some threads that I thought shouldn't have been deleted. As for your elitism example. That is wrong if someone wishes to add to the discussion. I've seen people bring up old threads, to add to the discussion, only to see others "sighing" and saying things along the lines of "hasn't this been beaten to death?" Elitism like that is bad. Who cares if it has been beaten to death? If the person wants to add more to the discussion, LET THEM. If the topic was covered on the old forums and it's no longer available...and someone wants to bring that topic back up...why should they be scrutinized for making a new thread? ...I don't know where some of this came from and why it's being directed towards me. I have not once mentioned or implied that any of the moderators have been abusing their powers...so I dunno why you're bringing that up. I'm also not against moderation all together. I don't want to be seeing advertisments like I do in Alt.Fan.Macross. I also don't want to be seeing OT stuff in a thread about Macross Plus or Macross DYRL?. I think you are missing what I'm trying to get across here. Where the hell else am I going to find Macross fanatics? I'm the only Macross fan here in Reno as far as I know. Of all the people I've met here in Reno, no one can relate to me when it comes to my love of Macross. This is the only place I know of that I can come to and relate to other people when it comes to Macross. However, there's more than just Macross and Science Fiction that I would like to discuss with the other people here who love Macross as much as I do. I would like to be able to connect in other ways other than through Science Fiction. There are some threads out there like the the computer, console, electronic threads that are not entirely Science Fiction related...which are fantastic! I'm truly grateful for them...but that is it as far as leeway is concerned and that's where my problem lies. Hence why I'm all for less restrictions. ...And again there's only so much that can be said about Macross before other members start giving snide remarks...all because the topic was discussed before and is being rehashed or brought up again.
  19. ...Right............but it's the Anime or Science Fiction form. There's more than just science fiction out there....... Again, I'm glad it's there, but it would be nice if there was more to discuss. Granted the Mods have been kind enough to let us discuss computers and the likes...but the leeway is very very small......I digress.
  20. I'm far from being bored with this game. There's way too much down time if you ask me...battery recharges...work...school...real life...etc. >_>
  21. I would have gone wherever the rest of Alt.Fan.Macross went, regardless of the name of the site. Sure, this is a website/forum about Macross...but it is nice to discuss things, other than Macross, with other Macross fans. It's nice to have a sense of belonging and being able to find more common ground with others. Hence why I'm all for less restrictions. Besides, there's only so much that can be said about Macross before other members start giving snide remarks...all because the topic was discussed before and is being rehashed...which I find really silly and childish. That kind of elitism (for lack of a better word) is bad in my opinion. Edit: I am thankful for Anime or Science Fiction forum
  22. In the past there have been some threads that were deleted or locked up when I thought they shouldn't have been.... I couldn't tell you all which ones though...it's been so long since. I do feel like there are too many restrictions on this message board...but whatever. Edit: Moreover, there are times where I feel this board has become some sort of an elitist message board. ...Regardless...I keep coming back to get my Macross fix. I don't know what I would do if I didn't get my fix.
  23. Copy the link location and paste it into a new window/tab. That should do the trick next time.
  24. Is there a website that will ship a copy of Macross Ace to the States? Amazon.co.jp obviously won't. There's a copy on Ebay...but I'm not willing to pay $60 for it. Thanks!
  25. Sigh, come on Keith. =( Where's the third race in DYRL? that we're introduced to? Where's the news reporter as the main character? Where's the new fighter? Where are the mind controlled Zentraedi? Where are the Macross Cannon Class type ships? Where's the Zentraedi emulator? Where do we see a destroyed/bombarded earth in Macross II? Where's the population living in space, onboard a ship, in Macross II? Where's the Protoculture city in II? There's been a 'damsel in distress' in Zero, Plus, Frontier, as well as II. Zero, Plus, Frontier, and II all have established characters who have died. All use love, song, war, and Valkyries. Should we consider Zero, Plus, and Frontier rehashes of SDF Macross? I would LOVE to see more about II. I voted Da!
