Those look almost like the old 1/48 Retppu inbit models from the late 80s! I get the impression that there will many inbits in my future...

According to the people that have posted, 10 confirmed, need 20 more.

I'll leave this open until the 18th. If I haven't amassed sufficient interest by then I'll just move on to other things.

There would be a rather drastic price and size difference between the two. If people have a hard enough time finding a spare < 200 quatloos, then something 4 times the price just doesn't seem sensible.

It was the Inbit Gurab... 1/48, I think. It was a long time ago now. I have to wonder if perhaps it wasn't simply a matter of timing too. It won't be higher than that, guaranteed.

Absolutely! It just wouldn't be complete otherwise.

The Protector could definitely be a warm-up for a 1/72 N-Ger, I certainly wouldn't rule that out.

If I can get enough people to hit the minimum mark, I'd do this project as a pre-pay deal (pay up-front, then I provide my weekly updates as per my usual builds and ship when the kits are done) which would maybe be 2 months after the project start.

Did you miss me? After speaking with a fellow MWer yesterday, I realized that I was really starting to miss making kits! Since I'm waiting on a few other projects, I realized that I have a "window of opportunity" to work on some personal stuff, so I thought about offering a 1/10 Protector Inbit kit if enough people are interested. I haven't quite figured out a price because I don't know what kind of interest there would be for this thing, but I think it's safe to say that it would be under 200. I would need a minimum of 30 orders to get the ball rolling, and so I turn the mic over to you guys... What say you?

I like the idea that the Inbit Protector would be in scale with the ride-armors, now all I need are 30 orders to make it happen... Maybe I should start a separate thread on it?

It would actually! Either that or a 1/32 Inbit Eager to go with my Legioss.

Frak, it's the 30th anniversary of Mospeada... Maybe that's why I'm getting that scratchbuilding itch again...

Another useful trick for creating paint chips, in addition to Ruben's technique: once you apply the lacquer or enamel metallic base and let it dry, use a way crayon to lightly nick some spots along the edges or randomly on the surface of your part. You can also use some orange/brown chalk pastel mixed with water to create a rusty-colored mud that you apply with a very small brush in strategic areas. Let try, and then paint with your desired acrylic surface color. Once the surface paint has dried, use some masking tape rolled around your finger to pull away surface paint over the wax or pastel. It will provide not only realistic paint chips, but also the realistic appearance of rust/corrosion.

Absolutely fantastic job once again, Ruben! You really captured the feel and grit of what I always felt the Destroids were supposed to look like. And that anime stand-off pic totally rocks!

Bandai 1/72 fully transform able VF-1 plastic kit for Macross 30th Ann

There doesn't appear to be sufficient clearance between the nose cone and the hip/intake module in Battroid mode, leading to some really wonky posing. That can probably be remedied with a bit of elbow grease though. -
Just watched 3.33: I never thought I would see a film that could make End of Evangelion seem like a feel-good romp by comparison. I really don't know where they plan to take the fourth film based on these events but I can appreciate their desire to break with some elements of the original story. The occult symbolism in Eva is absolutely everywhere and hard to decipher at the best of times... Makes me wonder if Anno is either a brilliant adept of the mystery schools or just flat-out off his rocker.

Is this figure still available for anything less than a kidney? Most of the Eva stuff available in the past has left me feeling lukewarm, but this version actually looks well executed. -
He works on different projects in the shadows.

Mike, would it be out of place of me to say that I'm both honored and very impressed with your workmanship?
