  1. Except that in a real-world scenario, the way the blocky legs/calves are both pushed forward and outward means that the wing's inner flaps are impaired in fighter mode. This is made worse if the gun is attached to the leg/underside of the wing. Not good design work. That's why on my version the 80mm cannon was relocated in Fighter mode to mount topside on the inside of the arm. This also makes it easier for the pilot to aim because the rifle is much closer to the aircraft's centerline. Of course, that's the Moscato version. I doubt they could get away with such a change on a licensed item.
  2. For regular resin it's about 30. Smooth-On 327 is more agressive than the regular 310 I use, so mold-life is cut in half. Quick Saturday update: I had worked-out a decent system to mount the side saddle-bags using the existing notch in the seat bulkhead. The con is that repeated installation/removal of the latches might damage/loosen the exhaust pipe, because the latch partially fit behind the exhaust for stability. After a bit of fiddling, I created something even better: easier to add/remove, and puts no stress on this very expensive figure's parts. The part in white is the new addition. The mock-up is in styrene, but will be green resin in the kit. You literally just slide it forward into place from behind the bike, or pull rearward to remove. This is kinda how I figured it would work IRL. When the transformation sequence is activated, a locking peg holding the latches/saddle-bags is released. When the rider guns the gas and wheelies, the whole thing just slides off onto the ground. It also leaves room for a vanity plate and doubles as a crude rear mud-guard.
  3. A few months ago, I needed a $ estimate to scan, re-scale and print a 1/8 Lamborghini bumper. About one grand. That's just for one part! Also consider that when you scale UP, details become less crisp, less precise. Ideally, you scan large, print small. It would be more cost-feasible to make new masters from scratch, especially that the 1/72 Hase VF-1 has different proportions to any of the 1/60 toys, so even a "direct, high-detail" (expensive) scan of the booster would need considerable clean-up and modification.
  4. I have 8 sets of molds just for the visors as it is. You have to bear in mind that clear resin isn't like regular resin: the slightest flake of dust/debris, or even tiny bubbles caused by the mixing process will render the part junk, and it can't be melted-down and recycled. One in 3 visors comes out unusable. Food for thought.
  5. I suspect that, like with previous MP releases, the standard version will come first. Animation color afterwards.
  6. Bringing a dead thread back to life!
  7. Hey guys, heads-up: due to overwhelming demand, I won't be accepting orders for extra visors from this point forth. Those who have already paid are OK, though.
  8. Prime should be RED and BLUE, not grey! Too many joints, not poseable enough! I'm suing T/T for mental anguish!!!!!!! Just trolling, he looks fantabulous!
  9. I think it's safe to say the RE Gun EZ is better than anything fans could have hoped for. Looks like Bandai won't be wiping-out Victory Gundam just yet.
  10. Tremble in fear, mortals!!! https://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/45838-112-moscato-mospeada-assessories-set/
  11. In case you need it... https://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/45838-112-moscato-mospeada-assessories-set/
  12. Stick/Ley both use the VR-052. Same visor. 41H has a blue-green visor, 38L has a lighter, blue-gray visor. I will likely offer a modified version of the accessories without visor when the BLOW SUPERIOR and BARTLEY come out... Unless Sentinel f*cks those visors up too, in which case it'll be Captain America to the rescue! lol
  13. For what it's worth, I highly recommend doing group buys fore those located overseas as a means to offset the ridiculous shipping fees. That's the downside of doing small, lightweight, fiddly detail sets and having a postal carrier with minimum size/weight restrictions.
  14. All the Ride Armor visors had a different shape and color for each model type. Also, orders are up on Facebook. Will post a FOR SALE ad here a little later. In the meantime, shipping rates are available now.
  15. If I do it in color, it won't have the glow-in-the-dark effect. I chose this procedure specifically for its effect. Also, why would you want a dash that just looks like a regular ol' sticker? Haven't done photo-etch in years and don't know anyone who offers the service at a reasonable cost for small jobs. I may look into it for future projects.
  16. In so much as Masterpiece Dinobot seems to be an overall success, who's excited for Masterpiece Barney?
  17. Captain's log: Tuesday, quitting time. Basic molds are done, duplicate molds are in the pipeline and the castings are awesome! The visor is looking really sweet, too, and if I'm lucky, I can game the mixture just a little so that the part remains slightly flexible and less prone to breakage. I'll be casting these already tinted, so as to save those with lesser modeling skills the chore of painting them. As for the tint, this test-shot is a bit too blue, so I'll adjust the color to a blue-gray as seen in the anime. The RPG will come with a clear lens for the targeting system, but I'll also be giving you all a little extra glow-in-the-dark sheet, which you can trim and place beneath the lens on the RPG to simulate a night-vision system. Simple, but effective! Also, I'm finishing up the markings before I send them to print. You have markings/serial/instructions for the RPG, markings for the saddle-packs as well as for the Gallant weapons. Will post a For Sale thread tomorrow w/shipping prices... I'm pumped!

  19. Just a quick reminder, I'll start accepting pre-orders for the 1/12 Mospeada accessories on Wednesday. Better pics coming soon.
  20. I've updated the first post with a FAQ. Recommended read.
  21. I'm not sure why I'd bother casting a visor, tediously filling-in the scribed lines and re-molding it in opaque resin. Sort of defeats the purpose, wouldn't you say? If you don't mind paying for the extra individual parts, it's no problem.
