Bumblebee (Transformers... 6?)
captain america replied to kajnrig's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I suspect that Bumblebee was so written that they could either consider it a prequel or a reboot depending on how it would be received and how they could exploit it. As far as box office receipts are concerned, BB pulled in even less than TLK, which was the worst performing film in the franchise; the only thing that saved BB was its much lower production budget (almost half of TLK) but to call it a success is something of a stretch. https://www.boxofficemojo.com/franchises/chart/?id=transformers.htm -

I'm guessing there's still now word on if the Blow Superior's boobie missile hatches open or not?

I was able to do a wee bit of photo editing to Bee. If you create side panels with some acetate or polycarbonate and yellow paint, you can hide all those hideous gaps in the torso rather nicely. Simply remove the panels for transformation and imagine that the panels fold-up on themselves and tuck away nicely in alt mode.- 16913 replies

From the back he really doesn't look too bad, the side is the figure's weak point... Maybe I can add some side panels to help camouflage that kibble.- 16913 replies

I can't help but wonder if the front fairing/missile housings aren't simply a separate part that tabs-in for the open/firing mode. Don't mind the choice of dark blue, but Yellow's onesie would look nicer if it was sky blue rather than the Ley blue on the prototype. The latter is a pretty realistic change that they can make between now and production.

I realize that most people loathe the Bayverse, and granted, TLK was a wretched movie, but those figures are sheer beauty!! The earlier releases were kinda meh, but the latest ones are just an order of magnitude better than what came before. It's a shame that DOTM is in ThreeA's rear-view mirror, because I think Sentinel Prime would have been great with the newfound detail. The upcoming Megatron looks fantastic too.- 16913 replies

Based on the two figures I already have, a dozen other things will go wrong/break/become floppy before the spring ever becomes an issue. The figures are nice, but the price for that great finish/detail is that they must be handled with care.

They could have made them spring-loaded; would do away with the tab altogether and the cost of the spring would be negligible.

Man alive, these massive, hideous backpacks have gotten out of hand on the new Masterpiece figures. He looks so great from the front, but then I look at it from the side and my heart sinks! Thankfully they're doing Beast Wars justice.- 16913 replies

Most likely a thinly veiled concession to avoid being in direct competition with Evolution Toy's offering. It's bad form to sell licenses to two different companies to produce the same toy in the same scale and cannibalize each others' market. Technically, Sentinel's should be larger, but something tells me it'll be a smaller figure.

Hard to say from looking at that image if the adapter will retrofit to the VR-052. The 52 has those side-mounted exhausts which the 41 lacks, and that makes a difference. What I really don't understand is why the saddles don't have any handles. I understand that they have to follow Aramaki's designs, but seeing as how the the boxes look even larger than the ones I made, it just seems like it would be a no-brainer to put handles on them. Without handles they'd be awkward AF to pick-up/carry when you're in a hurry, and the handles offer more posing/playing options for the figure itself.

It's not so much the chest being large as it is the body being too long for its legs makes it look like a midget. The gap in the middle of the torso is what makes it look awkward, but on the up-side, the fighter mode has the most compact rear of any transforming model or toy and it does look like a quality build.

New Blow Superior looks great! Legioss, not so much. Looks like Sentinel caught-on about the accessories. Wonder where they got that idea?

The good part is that the tracking number is on the envelope. If you can match that to the tracking number provided upon shipping, Paypal will see that there's no way a large boxed figure could have been sent that way and hopefully make the matter a slam-dunk in your favor.- 9232 replies

I will only accept these if they paint them in Transformer Seeker schemes, complete with faction symbols. -
