New 1/350 MOSPEADA Garfish Project?
captain america replied to captain america's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Five two slots left to fill. Visual representation of the new Starfish compared to the old Garfish. Should make lighting the fighter bays a lot easier. -
New 1/350 MOSPEADA Garfish Project?

21 so far, not bad! -
"Reasonably-priced blue Sentinel Legioss" doesn't exist. The original retail price wasn't even reasonable, to say nothing of second-hand prices. Your best bet might be to score a used one, hopefully in good shape.

New 1/350 MOSPEADA Garfish Project?
captain america replied to captain america's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Fighters (Legioss) only. The Tread portion would be part of another 1/350 project should this one go forward. -
Hey guys. I've had a lot of requests for me to revisit the MOSPEADA Garfish and thought I'd put a feeler out to see what actual interest would be. The original 1/350 Garfish kit I mastered for Neptune Models was on the small side (30.5cm long). If I were to offer a newly mastered version, resized to 35cm length (harmonized and proportional with the dimensions of the new Sentinel Legioss), who would want a kit? Project codename: STARFISH Projected retail price: $300 Canadian Would include: - waterslide markings -translucent parts (lenses, engine thrusters) -fighter bays with hatches that can be posed open or closed -a compliment of three in-scale fighter aircraft I'd need 30 orders to make this happen. Commitment would require a $150 CAD deposit, and the balnce upon completion. If I can get the minimum commitment of 30 orders by September 11th, the project will be green lit.

No Love for Southern Cross?

A resin kit with vastly better proportions, detail and hover sled would be cheaper than that!- 1449 replies

Anything larger than 1/32 is not cost effective.

Digging the AFC-01Z with Pinky The Crab Slayer heroine action figure. Not sure why an energy weapon would need a longer barrel, but it does clean up the look of the gun and gets rid of that awkward banana clip. My issue with the unpainted plastic is that it'll turn an unsighly yellow over time. Considering the price point of the figure, I would have liked to have all the major surfaces painted.

Being a compact weapon system isn't the problem in and of itself, but as someone who's spent a bit of time back-engineering anime mecha, one big problem is unrealistic cockpit size. Gotta remember that the pilots are already wearing clunky body armor, and that cockpit is practically shrink-wrapped around the pilot. What's the point in developing a bazillion-dollar transforming weapon that will be taken-down because the pilot becomes distracted by fatigue and cramping, or because the armor shielding around the cockpit is ridiculously thin? Anyway, that's my 5 cents' worth on the matter.

1/32 Beast 1.0 is waaay too big and heavy to be articulated, let alone variable.

Interesting, but impractical. At some point I'm going to de an eval of the 1/48 Sentinel to see what it would take to make a 1/32 scale version. I may also have a way to upscale the Inbits.

Wouldn't it be even moar awesomer if it were in 1/32 scale?

I can't help but wonder if they wouldn't have been better off making (multiple) one-piece flexible hands like for the bike riders.

No, I think the listing is a glitch. I was able to login and even though it states 1 left in stock, when I add the item to my cart, my cart shows empty. I thought it was fishy that I hadn't received any nofifications from HLJ after I added the item to my wishlist last weekend.

Just a heads-up to everyone: I'm going to be re-issuing the King Crab (Inbit Gosu) in July, so the whole 1/48 Space Crab set will available again for a short time. Price will be $336 Canadian shipped to all Canadian/US locations. International orders may be directed to Brett over at Return 2 Kit Form.

QC issues aside, I really like what Sentinel did with the Legioss. While I would have preferred it to be at least 15% larger and have more painted plastic (because in a few years, that nice white plastic will be quite yellow) it's still a great effort that gets extra points for ingenuity.

MOSCATO'S QUINCY ROWE COMPLETED KIT AND WIP

Bad guy mecha don't usually sell well enough to justify production runs typical of even collector toys. The other problem with the Inbits is the notable disparity in size of the various types. In short, get used to garage kits or do without. Oh, and I'm re-issuing the Blueberry Crab on June 1st. Photo courtesy of derex3592

The way the shoulder hinge is designed, the hinged ankle guards, and the way the LERX mates to the mid-fuselage indicates that they "borrowed" from my 1/32 Beast, and them butchered the design in other areas.
