For what it's worth, there are grumblings suggesting that Diamond is either about to drop, or HAS dropped FSS from its catalogue; presumably as a result of less-than-stellar sales. I was wondering if anyone could confirm or deny this officially?

Hi all. I thought I'd chime-in on the topic, since there has been a slight restructuring of my schedule. Long story short, the VF-1J conversion won't commence until early August, as another project I'm currently on is going to take longer than projected. I'm still in for the long-haul; the haul will just take a lil' longer.

Hi all. I'm nearing the end of the production run of the Regult. Aside for the 7 models I have on reserve for people who've placed their downpayment, I'm offering the last 5 castings to anyone who'd want them. After that, I'm all done.

Still available if anyone wants more.

Hi Amped. Glad you like the kit. Sorry about the rubbery clear parts: I'd gone through so many trials, and believe it or not, that resin was the most user-friendly of all the clears. Most others were almost unpourably-thick, and took over 24 hours to cure As per the clear resin manufacturers own comments, the stuff is designed to remain slightly flexible, even after cure. However, you can try this little trick: place your clear parts on a cookie tray covered with wax paper, and put it in the oven for 4 hours at 150 farenheit & let cool. This has the effect of further hardening the resin slightly, making it easier to trim/putty/sand.

Hi Honneamise. It's all good. I know what you mean about bubbles: I hate those things to death myself; that's why I cast the way I do Also, for those of you who asked to be placed in Group 2 for shipping, I just wanted to let you know that I'm now ready to accept payments again, as well as any new orders. I'm going to cast through to the cycle-life of this mold, and then that'll be it for the standard Regult. The heavy-missile conversion sets will (eventually) be available as a stand-alone conversion, and not sold as a pack with the Regult. Good thing too, cos the regult is a crazy pain in the ass to mold/cast!

1/72 Regult instructions to download

Hi Stamen. Umm... Cos that was the only drill bit I had handy at the time Actually, it's cos a 3mm hole would just plain be too tight to push the ball-joint pins into. This way, the hole is just a hair's breath larger than the pins, and the extra slack can easily be made-up with a bit of CA glue. The reason it's such an odd size is that it's probably a bit in an imperial measurement. I simply converted it over to metric for ease of use. -

Hi Grayson. The second batch kits are already shipping. Anyone who can make the balance of their payments please feel free to do so. Rear view with the stenciled markings...

Hi Vice. It was great seeing you again. Hopefully next time we'll have a bit more time to sit & chat; preferably over drinks. Honneamise: sorry about the large sprue gates, that's one of the downfalls of my casting technique: I need large pour vents to be able to fill all the molds in time & place them under pressure. I tell myself that it's always easier to remove a bit of excess resin than to have to putty/fill, so I think it's the lesser of 2 evils. Oh, by the way. I also produced a set of artwork for the Regult's markings. I didn't do mine as decals: in stead, I printed the markings out onto frisket, and cut them out as spray templates. Here's a quick pic...

You'd have to ask Myersjessee about that project. I'm sworn to secrecy.

Hi Gabe. 1D conversion is next, but that's still about a month away from commencing... A non-Macross related project needs taking care of first

There are no hinges, because they wouldn't have been strong enough, and the complex geometry of the hatch door precludes the use of a simple swing hinge; it'd have to somehow pull out, then upward.

Cockpit from the other side. Very hard to photograph this, as my camera lacks good macro capability, but all the detail that should be there, IS there. Instructions: these are in process, and I'll post them here on MW for people to download.
